This place is one of the worst. I went there 2 weeks ago and one of the bartenders was very disrespectful. I kindly asked "what light beer u can recommend ?" this guy bartender came up to my face and said "my friend the list is up there, we dont have time for that just tell us what u want". I got the beer went to the back yard etc. So i overlooked that, and a week ago, 2nd time, i decide to re-visit there im at the very end of the bar to order because was a crowd there, i asked for the IPA beer, this tall lady bartender replied "the bar is over here, not over there", this stupid chick dont realize we are in the BAR...she just wanted me to come in the middle of the crowd to be squeezed in, so i did and ordered my beer from a different bartender, left a tip as usual and after few mins because i was disappointed not only with the service, the people there most of them are not quite friendly, i guess this zone is for folks who are lost and have no other place to go, i left the beer there and just left, never to return to that place again even if the world ended..Once u visit there u will see, i cannot be wrong a few times in a row with different days.

Well, this is a fun and quintessential bar. Starting with the fact that during the day it turns into a flower shop, reminds me a bit of the Cinderella story. We had a really great time here with friends on Saturday night. They dont serve food but they have local vendors come down nightly and serve up some delicious treats. They also have a nice outdoor area with my only reservation being that it closes so early at night because of its neighbors. A big and great selection of beers. The bartender mistook one of my orders at one point and was really gracious about not charging for the extra drink he poured. I thought that was really sweet of him. There is one slight issue of them not having a lot of tables indoors, so when they close the outside area it does become super cramped, especially on a Saturday night. All in all, we had a wonderful night and would definitely return when in the area.

The bartenders are all A-plus here, stay on point but keep their heads high the whole time too. They gotta deal with all types of people and situations and they do it pretty gracefully if I do say so. Unfortunately the live music scene -- which was never really publicized very well to begin with in the basement -- has come to a hault due to fire code issues in the basement, and so its hard for me to have a good excuse to go here anymore. It feels like a trendy secret Manhattan spot, but in the middle of cozy Ditmas, which is cool if thats what you want, but not really for me. Some reason I prefer those kind of experiences to actually be in Manhattan. Nonetheless, Ive had too many fond memories here, and too much respect for the bartenders / staff to give it less than 4 stars. Theyre on point, and their over-popularity is a symptom of this, and good for them.

The smell of whiskey and flowers, when combined, is euphoric... who knew? This half-flower-shop-half-bar is, hands down, my favorite spot in Brooklyn. Their wall of whiskey is tantalizing and tempting (and intriguingly spotlighted, in an otherwise dimly-lit bar), and their backyard patio is enveloped in floor-to-ceiling foliage. Sycamores basement is great for shows, in that you get that throwback-y, college-days feeling (as if youre actually in a friends basement). Their prices arent bad either -- $6 is their cheapest glass of wine, and for $10 you can get a beer & a bouquet, which would be a nice cherry on top of good date. Its admittedly a bit off the beaten path, but its very worth it. Get their "stoopid shot of the night" -- its almost always mind blowing.

Sycamore! the odd, yet perfect blend of Flower Shop (by day) and Bar (by night). This neighborhood is changing quickly so now there are a few more food and drink places around but Sycamore was my first love. At night, if there were extra flowers from the day they would have this adorable deal, a little bunch of flower + a beer. Adorable. Unfortunately the department of Health had them close their basement, which hosted music and a great once monthly cabaret called Tiny Dangerous Fun. In addition, the DOH also made them close their back patio which was beautiful and one of my main reasons for loving this place. Hopefully they can reopen those soon.

Im rating Jessica and Justine in the flower part of Sycamore. Ive gotten vases for a dinner party my sister-in-law was making for the family: 35 people or so. The food was good, but the flowers got rave reviews -- unsolicited. I brought home some roses and other assorted stems to say thank you to my wife for being an OK cook and a good companion (maybe a touch better than that!) and the flowers really wowed her. One or two other occasions were also made by Sycamores flowers. Yes, Ill go into the bar one day and have a drink -- maybe buy the two Js one. But for now Im really happy with the flower aspect of the place!

The quirky, funky bar is one of the neighborhood’s must-trys. The front space is a “flower shop” – it’s really one stand selling a very limited selection, but it adds to the charm of the place – and there’s a small section downstairs that offers live music as well as a back deck that is used for pig roasts and barbecues. Expect a dog-friendly, kid-friendly spot that usually has a good mix of the locals. It’s really one of the neighborhood’s most charming little spots and reflects the essence of Ditmas Park.

Not really a bar, not really a flower shop, not trying to be fancy, But really a cool place, to have a drink under the sun (And you can bring your dog with you). The front is a flower shop, and the bar is very dark, but i guess the cool part is the back yard. I have a friend who smoke, and he say that this is one of the last places in NY you can still enjoy a good Whiskey and a cigarette. If you hate cigarettes, dont go there. If you want a cigarette and a drink under the sun, definitely go there.

I have been a regular at Syacmore for at least 5 years. Since the days the back yard was open and then closed and then reopened. The first thing I have to say about it is that the staff here knows you by name, and not just me as a regular, even people who only been here few times in the past. The prices: I dont know how they make their money here. Ridiculously low, and very good mixed. I kind of miss the place before it turned into one of the hottest spots in the area. But it is still cool.

I love this place. The atmosphere is great and there are always good people to talk to. i like that it attracts a younger croud 35 and less. My only complaint is one time i went in and the bar tender was a bit unpleasant he had curly black hair. i think that guy needs to lighten up and smile a little bit. If this place had better staff it would get all 5 stars! oh and i have seen dogs in the bar which i love! so cute :)
