I was there yesterday as I always do every week and I ordered a shrimp salad with no tomatoes like Ive been doing for years since this place opened on utica and the girl was like the salads are pre- made. So I wasnt worried about that I just reminded her I didnt want tomatoes because apparently she was trying to tell me I was getting tomatoes because the salad is pre- made. So as I wait the girl calls my name with tomatoes in my salad. Like what I dont understand is if a customer does not eat something in a salad she should let the cooks know to take it out. She just wanted to basically tell me I was going to buy what I dont eat. Long story short the guy went down stairs and made me a fresh salad and I really appreciated it and here she comes slapping on the sauces with a attitude. She need to change jobs asap. Customer service is not for. Never going back in the mid day cause I dont want to but heads with her cause she has no manners. P.S. this is the dark-skinned girl that was there Feb 17 around 4pm.

I have to say this was one of the tastiest burgers Ive ever had. I ordered "The Island Burger" with pineapple, cole slaw, tomatoes and garlic sauce, and a side of sweet potatoe fries. One of the juiciest burgers, flavorful to say the least and the right portions of everything. I wish the place had table service but the high top & chairs was enough for a great meal at a fair price. My ratings are based always first on service and then the food. I could see how some people experienced a half smile and others (probably regulars) were treated like family. I walked in smiling, greeting them with a, "this is my first time here and you guys were highly rated", and I was met with, "welcome, what are you in the mood for". That set the tone. I complimented the chef when I was done and there were smiles in every corner of this tiny takeout gem. Ill be back to try some other specialties. Btw...tamarind sauce with the sweet potatoe fries is a Bang Bang!!

I use to love their salads but after this weekend I cant eat here anymore. Im pretty sure its a health code violation to mix seafood dishes with non seafood dishes because you can kill someone!! I ordered a chicken salad as always, the girl brought a shrimp salad to the counter. I told her no I didnt order that, I would never, after she confirmed from my receipt that I did indeed ask for chicken, I could see she wanted to just pick up the shrimp off the lettuce but the cook brought out a new salad bowl, said some kinda comment and fixed my new salad. Now I ordered Avocado with this salad, the girl went to take the Avocado off of the shrimp salad and put it on my chicken salad. My sister who is a nurse and I yelled "what are you doing, you can kill folks like that, allergies!" with an attitude the cook got fresh Avocado from the back. I left, got home went to eat my salad and I kid you not guess what was in the salad... a piece of shimrip.

Ive walked into this location twice within a two week period and received the worst customer service from the cashier/person that takes the orders and yes they were two different people. The first visit, I was yelled at by the cashier for not letting them know I came in and didnt pay for my food before inquiring with the prep girl if my order was received. It was indeed my mistake for returning after the first horrible interaction but the second visit the female rolled her eyes and sassed me when I politely informed her that their business phone was ringing out I politely walked out without placing an order because i refuse to spend my money if respect isnt given. During both visits the individuals spoke to me as if I was a returning customer and should have known their policies. So if you are ok with receiving rude, demeaning service then yes the food is good but I shall NEVER return.

Its deserves more stars. Seriously. You live in Eastflatbush you have to know about this place. And if you live outside that area, find a location and order everything. #1 in my favorite spot to grab food list. The chiefs are great and wow the women are beautiful and polite. Their the ones that prep your food after its cooked. Lil tv to keep you occupied and good carribbean music. Ive tired everything on their list except their salads. That new and was added after i fell off from eating there(i moved outside their delivery range). Days like Friday afternoon gets real crowded. Best to call it in before showing up.Ive put on uber drivers, random people to this place to eat. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Food is usually good but I ordered from uber eats tonight,the order went through at 7:49 pm I did not receive my food until 9:39 pm exact. When i placed the order it said 40 minutes for delivery and as time went by it kept saying restaurant needs more time to prepare my order when it finally came the driver pulled up got out his vehicle no manners just shove the bags at me. No good night sorry for the inconvenience or anything of the sort. Very dissatisfied customer. Uber eats is a great idea but if restaurants are going to take this long it makes no sense having them on here. People order food when they are hungry and want to eat ASAP.

Im glad that you guys are here cuz we need something like this the food is very good and tasty and I love it the people who have been very respectful oh by the way I do. documentaries I make short films maybe one day I can make a short film for you guys and hope you blow up also make health drinks I supposed to give the boss a sample of my drink but I never did it yet because Im so busy but anyway the food is very delicious keep up the good work guys and happy new year and then returns I live right on the block living 925 Utica apartment 3 R

Island burger has the best food in Brooklyn. I literally travel from Brownsville on the bus to get some grilled shrimp, macaroni salad and plantains. The Quarter BBQ chicken is awesome as well. The French fries are the size of steak fries and are so delicious. The sauces make the food SUPERB!!!!!!! The customer service is awesome. Yes on certain days its more crowded than others but thats because the food is being prepared right in front of you. Island Burger is AWESOME!

I love the food here and the service was perfect UNTIL they started hiring more girls. Some of them are not equipped to handle busy hungry crowds. I saw one wipe down the food prep space with a clorox wipe then without washing her hands began to prepare my food. I asked her to please put on gloves. She did not like that and skapped my food around. She even rolled her eyes. Sigh* West idian restaurants have the worst people working in them

The food is amazing Its wonderful!! My significant other and I literally go out of our way just to visit this spot! However, they need a bigger place and better employees! The owner is probably the only one that has proper customer service training. The other girls are rude and inattentive to their customers needs! I am willing to put up with their unprofessionalism because the food is that amazing
