The worst georgian food that I have ever had!! I have been to this place multiple times in the past year and even though the service was not great the food was good. This time around it was just atrocious. The bread was not fresh (its a bakery as well) mtzvadi (shish kebab) was dry as a bone and apparently was done in an oven, instead of a grill, chanakhi (lamb stew) was bland and nasty at least few days old, and to top it all up the tkemali sauce was so watered down it was litteraly like a green water, disgusting. The waitress was nice but clueless, mostly busy texting on her phone. We actually asked for the chef or the owner thats how bad the food was. He came out saying surprised, saying everyone loves the food. Especially the sauce!!! Its so sad that he didnt even sound apologetic. He offered a discount that I declined as a matter of principle and paid the full bill. I would never recommend this cafe ever again. You want real Georgian food go to Brighton 1st in same neighborhood

I was first here two weeks back, and bought a $ 6 Khacha Puri bread. We barely exchanged two words, and it appeared to me that language was a barrier. I pointed towards the sign that said Khacha Puri, he went back, put a piece in a brown bag, covered it with plastic and handed to me. I paid for it and hoped it would not be cold, or waiting for long. I decided to test the temperature by eating a piece and almost burned the roof of my mouth! It was as hot as if it had just been pulled out of the oven a few seconds back. The bread was delicious, crisp at the edges, soft in the center, but highlights the three cheeses more than the bread. Having tried one version of this at Pirosmani a couple of months back, there was no doubt in my mind that this was an infinitely superior version of the basic Khacha Puri.

The food is good, but the service is terrible. They repeatedly got our order wrong, even when we sent it back. It took them ages just to bring out a salad, and their only excuse was that they were working on an order for delivery. Georgian speaking groups arrived after us, ordered the same things, got them earlier, and got considerably more attention from the waitress. They had us wait ages for some dough dish we ordered, which they had been bringing out to other tables. After quite a while, they told us they had run out, despite the fact that tables that arrived after us had gotten the same thing. Do not go here if you arent actually Georgian, your service is less important to them.

Excellent Khachapuri. Came here with a couple friends to split one. You know the place is legit as soon as you walk in the door. Nothing we could see for sale was from America. They also didnt have a menu, so we just asked for the "cheesy bread". The bread was piping--almost impossible to get it out of the brown paper bag because of the incredibly hot cheese filling. When we finally were able to tear away pieces, the whole thing vanished in about a minute because it was so good. We all agreed it was amazing. Id rather grab this than a slice any day. Ive since brought other friends to Brighton just to make them try it.

Me and my fiancée stopped in for a quick dinner just a few days ago, being as well traveled as I am Ive never had Georgian food before. We both love the allure of trying new foods, cultures and experiences. Georgian food seems to be a very nice blend of Middle Eastern - meets - Greek food. The service was great; the gentleman who served us helped to explain the menu/food to us and gave excellent suggestions. We were very pleases with the suggestions and really enjoyed the food. We only had time for some quick items, but we will be back again to experience this place in full again.

Get the cheese stuffed bread. This Georgian (Europes Georgia) Bread shop maintains an old country feel. The breads are baked in large clay ovens, unlike any Ive seen in the US. The breads resemble pizza doughs ut are much softer. Enjoy this cheap eat as a take out item or try dinner in the relatively new restaurant attached.

A good introduction to Georgian cuisine, with great food in a comfortable environment with clear menu descriptions. Theres two sections, the restaurant side and a take out bakery and drinks side. Breads are top notch, and there are salads and a few entrees for vegetarians as well.

The place is small, but cozy, friendly waiters with cordial manners. If you like Georgian food, youll like this place. The only con is a very limited menu... They have their own bakery.
