Louise (cashier/cook) provided NASTY AND TERRIBLE SERVICE on Sunday 5/15 330pm. They didnt have ANTHING and I had to deal with the horrible attitude, yelling, and unapologetically rude behavior from Louise (cook/cashier). I politely asked Louise why is she yelling and clapping her hands at me as it is very unprofessional. I ordered 5 dinners and spent almost $80 and I shouldnt have had to deal with the unprofessionalism and lack of service. Heres what went wrong: 1a) before I even ordered, the customer infront of me was having issues with Juanita and his order, so she rudly proceeded to ask the other cashier/cook to take the order 1) I wanted 3 salmon dinners and they didnt have salmon. 2) They ran out of yams, so 2 of my orders had yams and the other 2 didnt. 3) I ordered and paid for 2 bannana puddings , when i came back to pick up my order (took 20 minutes to cook because the fried chicken breast wasnt available:-(.. ), Juanita told me they only had one pudding and not the other, and said the person who makes banana pudding wasnt there... 4) after all of this no one tried to accommodate, or give me anything for my wait time, or from not having anything (listed above). Both cashiers (Juanita and Louise especially) just wanted me to pick something else (and nothing looked appeasing) 5) NO CORN BREAD!!!!!! I get home and ready to eat and I see that there is no cornbread in any of my 5 orders! I was expecting cornbread and they state online that the meals come with cornbread. I would advise anyone to NOT GO TO BROOKLYN SOUL FOOD, youll get disrespected by LOUISE, and 99% of the time they wont have your food.

This is another restaurant that I learned about through groupon and the offer that I purchased was for $20.00 worth of food but it actually cost me $12.00. I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening with a family member and when we arrived the place was empty. The restaurant itself appeared fairly clean and the décor was black and white tile with an emblem that was much like the Brooklyn Nets. The restaurant was small and offered only take out services but there was some seating that you can use while you wait for your order. If you order anything that is not already displayed you will need one of these seats for your long wait. I tried the peach cobbler after hearing good things but I wasnt impressed. Before we placed our orders we were informed that only chicken could be ordered with a groupon. We placed orders for both smothered chicken as well as fried chicken with sides of macaroni and cheese for both. The other sides we ordered were broccoli for one order and collard greens for the other. Each entrée was priced at $9.95 plus tax so I only had to pay the amount that exceeded my $20.00 voucher. The wait for our order was over a half hour but I must say the food was delicious and the serving size was generous. However, we did not get any of the cornbread in our orders. One customer advised me that she only orders what they have ready to avoid the long wait and next time I will do the same. The customer service could be improved but I definitely plan to return in the future t try their seafood options.

My food did not arrive until OVER an hour later. Once received, the chicken and waffles that I ordered was cold, over cooked and the waffles tasted horrible. The chicken was also very dry and bland. I called back and spoke with someone regarding if they could re-do the order and bring it back or if I could receive my money back, and the person I spoke to, by the name of Ricardo said to call back tomorrow because they were closed and no one else was in, he also informed me that he would be in tomorrow. 5 mins after hanging up the phone - I received another call from the person who initially took my order, who appeared to still be at the restaurant, stating that I missed a $5 delivery charge -when the delivery man counted my money, mentioned nothing, and the woman who took my order stated my total initially, which was the amount I gave PLUS a tip. I called back the following day regarding my order, and was told in a rude manner that Ricardo was not there and they did not know when he would be in. I would not recommend eating here, not to mention the customer service is horrible, and the worker was very rude over the phone. For the amount of money you spend at the establishment, you would expect for the customer service to be a bit more professional, which wasnt the case.

Sometimes you win sometimes you lose, its a game of win lose or draw. Sometimes the food is over seasoned, sometimes need salt and or just seem like it missing something. The place is so small with way too much workers cramped, and they also see unorganized. They need to go back and look at their business plan, just not executed well. They also need to accept debit and credit cards, sorry cash only is not going to work in this neighborhood. Ive odered here, about 7 times and each time it felt like I was short changed. Overpriced "soul food" and you given small portion size for my moneys worth. Basically they give you too little for what theyre charging for "soul food". The taste of the food is not consistant, I guess it all depends on whos cooking it. Another thing, they run out of the essentials, too often example rice!! Business 101 dont run out of rice. Overall, I like that they brought this food option to the neighborhood, but they need to get certain things fined tuned going forward. In conclusion, theyre OK, but Im hoping they can ask customers feedback to improve moving forward, they do have the potential to be better.

I shouldve known after reading all of these horrible reviews not to order from here. I placed an order at 4:15 pm and it is now 6:51and I STILL didnt get my order. I spoke with two different employees, one informed me that all orders went out since 5pm for me to call back within 10 mins if I didnt receive a call. I called back and got another employee who informed me that my order was still there and the driver(who she informed me was the owner)was 5 mins away from the restaurant to pick it up and deliver it. The last time I called was at 6:35 and got a different employee who was very rude and unprofessional and told me that the order was out! She placed me on hold and then disconnected the call. Not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience & needless to say I didnt get my food.... Worst experience ever I wouldnt recommend anyone to order here !!!

i ordered a grilled chicken salad and it was old withered brown and simply inedible. when i called to complain i was given major attitude which is unprofessional to say the least. i had to go to the store to get my money back and i was successful. they called my place of work and said no one can order anymore..at the managers request...from my job which is a shelter and not only staff orders, there r many residents that order as well. it sucks that we r subject to half assed service they could NEVER get away with in the gentrified parts of brooklyn. so because u guys delivered a salad that was horrible and i wasnt pleased u cut off ur nose to spite ur face. i will be keeping up with the progress of this establishment because i do not forsee success AT ALL!!!!
