Was feeling like Mexican for lunch today so I Yelped the area and found El Patron. Its right at the corner of Northern Blvd and 194 st. I checked out their menu and eventually settled on getting an entree off the Lunch menu. I called in at 2:08 to place my order and was told 20 minutes. I got to the restaurant at 2:30, walked in and there was no staff present to greet me...it was a little weird bc it was sort of dark in there, like the lights were off but there was one couple eating at a table (they actually flipped the lights on 5 minutes after I came in). After about 2 minutes, the waiter came out and I paid for my food. He went into the kitchen and returned like 3 minutes later but with no food...I said maybe theyre almost done, Ill just be patient. After another 10 mins I just decided to ask him what the the hold up was. He informed me the food was being freshly made but I insisted the guy over the phone should have informed me of the additional time required. After another 5 mins he brought the food out.... I was now late getting back to work from my break and angry so I just hoped the food was worth the wait. It was actually good, I enjoyed my lunch. I payed $9 for 5 pieces of baked chicken (leg, 2 thighs, breast, wing), white rice, a small separate container of red beans and a big piece of plantain. The chicken was juicy and the mango sauce was good (reminded me of a sweet/sour sauce). The beans were a bit salty, I ended up mixing in some water. I always get fried chicken, Mac and cheese with yams. The food has always been on point except for the last time when I felt the food wasnt as fresh but not bad enough to make me not want to go back. Ive also had the shrimp which I wouldnt order again. I always ask for shrimp and they always are out so when I finally tried it, I was sorta disappointed. As far as service goes - do NOT try to call and order. I currently am on hold now and its been 10 minutes. No one has come back to ask my order. This is the usual. If you go in and order, its usually a painless process. I ordered delivery and it took an hr. Not cool since I could have gone there and come back thrice! So thats why I give the 3 stars because although the food is pretty good customer service is not.

My friend ordered fried whiting with collard greens and mac and cheese, and I ordered the wingettes song with potato salad and cabbage. To begin the whiting was not seasoned at all... mac and cheese was sub par and the collard greens was barely seasoned. Moving on to my plate the potato salad was very sweet (thumbs down) and wings wasnt cooked all the way. I was so turned off I couldnt even remember what the cabbage tasted like smh... If this review was based off of just how the food looked Id give it five stars but unfortunately tarted wise this fell way below standards.

The wait was long a lady came into the store arguing about a package she left and wanted her stuff had to wait about 10-13 mins just to get my order in and it was hot so imagine that I ORDERD the shrimp meal they gave me about 7 shrimps I could of went to bed stuy fish fry for all that and got more for my $13.01 lol the food was ok seems like I got the ending of the Mac and cheese the collard greens was the best thing on my plate they need to work on customer service a little better. will be back again trying something else just will call my order in next time

Ordered pick up. 3 meals, chicken wing, whoring and bbq chicken dinners plus 2 sides of potato salad. The fish had a stale fishy taste like it had been laying around for a while, the chicken "wingettrs looked under cooked, and the bbq chicken was one small piece of whatever chicken part that was, hidden under a glob of bbq sauce. Unappetizing and thrown on the take out platter very messy. My daughter threw up after eating some of my fish dinner. We took back the bbq and refused the wingettrs. Get it together or leave it alone people. Disappointed for my $47.00.

I called this restaurant and a young man seem to be unqualified to handle phone orders. I ask for delivery he said only credit cards they accept. I ask is this a secured process. He didnt comprehend at all. I spoke to him 3x he input my credit card wrong. Very unprofessional. I never got my order. I never had this bad experience there.

I ordered food here for my sons birthday in April. He was not happy. First off he said they literally gave him a scope of Mac and cheese. Second the fish was good but only one piece ( I at the childrens table...or what!) 3rd it took forever for them to get the order right. Think very seriously before ordering from here.

Horrible place. The attitude of the staff is deplorable. Fried fish is good. Peach Cobbler FORGET IT. canned peaches on Almost raw filo dough. Couldnt eat it. Youre put on hold for a long time, when I walked to to restaurant no customers,but staff on their cell phones. STAY HOME,cook,or go across the street to Chez Oscars.

Had ordered take out. It was good. Food arrived late but was hot and the driver was courteous and polite. Decided to drop by the restaurant to eat. I cancelled a 40 dollar order because there was no bathroom. They should just have a takeout menu and stop posing as a sit down restaurant. Restaurants have bathrooms.

I ordered the Southern fried chicken with yellow rice and potato salad. The chicken was okay, rice and potatoes were meh, but the corn bread was delicious. Definitely priced like Manhattan though. I was served by a friendly black cashier so Im not sure where the complaints about customer service are coming from.

I ordered the baked BBQ chicken with two sides combo which was a large portion for the price. I had Mac and cheese and candied yams to accompany my chicken. Food was tasty and ready within five minutes of me ordering it. Just wishing they had AC so Id be more inclined to bring friends and dine in.

I order from one of they restaurant on pitkin ave and the food was really good but the girl on the phone was so rude but the guy who bought the food was nice and polite so I would eat there again but I rather go and pick it up to avoid the girl who answer the phone

Very small place. No bathroom for customers to use, no place to wash your hands. Didnt eat here because I like to wash my hands before I eat & if I need to use the bathroom. Never been to a restaurant that didnt have a bathroom for their customers. Wont go here again.

I ordered 4 meals today through Uber Eats and only 3 were delivered. I was told to reorder the meal that had not come and I would immediately be refunded. I did so and almost two hrs later my meal has still not shown up. The food that did come wasnt even good.
