First off, we went there for steak in a not “stogy” atmosphere. That was our mistake and we knew it when we were greeted by a roomful of screaming children. I did expect a good drink and that didn’t happen. I ordered a white Russian and it came in a large beer glass filled with mostly milk. My partner asked about the beers and the bartender didn’t have any information but a few names so she went with an old stand by, as he didn’t seem interested in helping her out. Next, the frozen and fried within its life was “chicken cordon bleu balls” with horseradish “ranch”. They were the like the chicken cordon bleu you buy in a super market freezer section. Hard as rocks, cold, with separated liquid cheese in the middle. The horseradish ranch was the consistency of water with no ranch taste and unable to stay on the frozen ball long enough to get to our mouths. The garden salad was good and tiny. It was a half-cup of fresh greens, cucumbers and grape tomatoes, and I mean a half-cup. The croutons were hard little bricks but the balsamic vinaigrette was good. As for the steak, I make better at home. I purchased the special, which was a rib eye with Cajun seasoning and a blue cheese topping. It was suppose to be a rib eye; it was shaped and tasted like a New York strip. The larger end of the cut was cooked correctly, the smaller end was charcoal as it was cooked too high for too long not a juicy steak. As for the “blue cheese topping” well, a massive pile of cold blue cheese was on top covering the entire steak, I had to scrape it off to see the steak and get a bite that wasn’t all chunks of blue cheese. It was like a pre packaged, grocery store piece of meat that was then abused on a grill and then set to long. My partner ordered a New York strip and I do believe it was a rib eye! I did not order a side. The steak came, and there was a large smeared lump of redskin-mashed potatoes that had a greasy liquid laying on top that I am not sure what it was as it did not taste like butter. The potatoes had the texture of being mixed with Elmer’s glue, not a creamy buttery flavor, but like they mashed them and forgot to add cream and butter so they just sucked. I dont know what made them glue like. We paid too much for this meal. We were seated two feet from the one and only his and hers bathroom. So many screaming children I thought I was in a McDonalds play room. The children ran around unruly. I know it’s the parents fault, but in a bar and grill you would think the staff would ask the parents to keep them under control. The staff was friendly.

My underwhelming experience started off with mediocre service. Although our waitress was nice, she did not hand us a drink menu, then handed us an outdated drink menu when we asked for one. She then waited until I named my fifth selection because everything I had asked for was "oh Im sorry we are out of that, too" before saying that she would go get an updated drinking menu - she apologized profusely for that, but it really shouldnt take that long to just get us the updated menu. She then did not offer or bring water, which is a bit unusual. Again, she was nice the whole time, just not on top of things. She then advised my husband on the emu burger which asked about and described it as, "kind of like beef and liver consistency. I know that sounds weird" - which is an unappetizing way to describe a food to a customer. The food was subpar. I got the pacific salad with broiled salmon. The salmon was completely flavorless and tasted like it was previously frozen. I got a very rotten cherry tomato in my salad which left a rancid taste and ruined the rest of the salad. Also had a couple pieces of rotten mixed greens that I had to manually pick out. The description of the salad included "crispy Asian noodles", which sounded delicious - I was expecting soba noodles or maybe seasoned rice vermicelli, but instead it was cheap croutons. The salad altogether tasted like low quality, pre-made supermarket salad bar type of food. And the beer as good. In short, I would not advise anyone to visit this establishment if they want to eat, but it is a reasonable place to get a good drink.

Disappointing experience. I had thought this was an actual brewery, but its just a typical bar. They have one house beer and an OK draft selection. Most of the beers they have you can get at Wegmans or Beers of the World. Food was just OK. Theres lots of TVs, but the place lacks interior character / ambiance. It would be an OK place if you live right there, but its definitely not worth making a special trip. If youre a beer connoisseur, youre better off going to MacGregors in Henrietta, Tap and Mallet in Rochester or Basin Pub in Pittsford.

Weve been coming to the stoneyard for years. Weve always been satisfied and impressed, but the past few times we have gone the menu has changed, which is fine. But the original food has also changed. And not for the better on some dishes. My husband always gets the Philly cheese steak and now its called the "strip and cheese". Its completely different, huge chunks of meat, practically no flavor... Not the same. The original was awesome. I really love this place, I hope it fixes its"new recipes" because now its not my first choice

Great food, just love their cubano, the food is just great and we love to go there. In the winter it can be a little chilly though, but thats because the building is old. Ive never seen any screaming kids there though and I personally loved the quiet atmosphere. I liked their Chicken cordon bleu balls, they were tasty and I loved the horseradish sauce which had a kick to it. I would recommend this place to anyone!

A great place with really great food. I got the Cuban which is so highly recommended and it lived up to its reputation. My wife got the ruban and loved it as well. Sit outside next to the Erie Canal and you have a perfect atmosphere. My only "complaint" is that the portions are ridiculously large. Either plan to split a dish with a friend, come VERY hungry or plan to bring some home.

Incredible food and beer available. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Bartenders know what they are pouring and the wait staff knows the food being made. During the college semester its much busier so an off time would be the shortest wait time. Prices are on point with the quality of food you receive. Return visits are a must.

Drove a few hours out of way to hit up a few breweries in the area and was dissapointed to find out they dont sell growlers they sell crowlers but yet would sell us one. I end up going to another 3 breweries in area and they were very helpful and friendly. Its also more bar then brewery. More domestic beers and only a couple home brews.

This is our favorite restaurant in the area. The entire staff is as friendly and helpful as they could possibly be. The craft beer selection is great, the food is terrific and the prices are reasonable. We have been there dozens of times and have never had a bad experience, and I cant say that about a lot of places.
