The entertainment, although simple (3 piece Band) provided the perfect mood setting for this establishment. The appetizer split between friends was Shrimp wrapped in Bacon - incredible. The Food (I ordered Voodoo Chicken) had quite an after bite (hotness). I guess I should have requested a milder spice. Waitress was a bit slow in getting back to our Table once food was served. You dont want to run out of Drink or Water when eating food this hot. Overall, Id try it again.

Great introduction to Cajun cooking and ambiance! I had never eaten food in this style before-it was savory and flavorful, with a staff very educated about the menu in regards to what is spicy, what is sweet, etc... A must have are the sweet potato fries with etouffee gravy and I was really happy with my cajun maque choux and hurricane drink, which was just as strong as I expected.

The food was horrible. Save your money and go else where for dinner. The calamari were dripping with oil. The catfish was way overcooked and drenched in a flavorless sauce that made both me and my husband quite nauseous. And the prices are way crazy for this quality of food. Will I come back here? Definitely NO.

Lovely place, kind of pricey. Food is good, service is friendly & attentive. Food is tasty but not has hot or as spicy as I would like for a NOLA kind of place. Voodoo sauce was tame. Alot of the dishes of past years are gone or only specials.

You go to The Bayou to have a fun time. They serve down-home Cajun dishes and great drinks in a kitschy, faux New Orleans storefront restaurant. You cant help enjoying yourself.

The food is amazing, and the service is fast and friendly. They do special requests easily, and the drinks are fanastic. I live nearby and come here often, I love it.

some of the food is very good , but some is not. however the decor is so, so dated. nothing in new orleans looks like this any more.

One of the best places on Long Island for Cajun/Southern food! Best Hurricane any where! Bring your friends. They will thank you!

The Bayou is back! After a few so so misteps they seem to have found a new chef to carrying on the tradition.
