Today was my second visit to Kinara in Tenafy. My husband and I visited the week of the soft opening and enjoyed the buffet. It wasnt perfect but it was promising. Today it was near perfect. Every dish was excellent. The vegetable dishes were as flavorful as the meat offerings. Nothing was over salted. Nothing was bland. The Tandor Chicken was moist and still fully done. It simply was the best Indian buffet Ive had in an age. I usually try the buffets before going for dinner. I think it gives an overview of the chefs expertise and creativity. I will be returning to Kinara for dinner; many times I hope. Every new restaurant has challenges to overcome. I think Kinara has handled any bumps and glitches beautifully. The best of luck to the owners and managment. I hope you prosper and stay put. This area needs a great Indian restaurant.

We ordered for delivery as i work in an office. The food was pretty good as i never had indian food before. However the biggest problem for me was that our food was extremely late. It was nearly over an hour late and i work in Englewood. It shouldnt have taken so long. And when the food arrived, one of the chicken tikka was crushed and it was a huge mess in the bag. They should take more care of how they are delivering their food. If theyre going to be late, at least deliver my food safely. I am very disappointed.

We fell in love with Kinaras food and service. Coming from Toronto (mecca of Indian restaurants!) we felt right at home here in tenafly. The northern Indian food is well balanced with roasted spices and heat (served to your liking)!. What is impressive is that the dishes are not full of ghee (i.e. not greasy) which leaves you with this nice fulfilment and delight without the heaviness of the the often overused fat! It was a great experience for both my husband and my kid! Loved it.

This place is a gem. After visiting India for my first time, this is the only place where I have been pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of their food. Delicious, savory food and great quantities. The service is incredible. They have figured out all the small details that creates a great restaurant. Kinara has given me faith in local dining. I couldnt recommend this place enough! I will probably dine here two weekends in row because I want to show everyone this place!

As a person who eats Indian food at least twice a week , I have to say they really need to change the chef , the food simply is just not good . For those who want to compare , go to mantra in Paramus and see and taste for yourself. They have a great location. They just need to improve there food. Just tried this place again , STILL SUCK Chicken Tikka Masala is watered down

Food is ok with great ambience and staff is also courteous.Had Chicken sheek kabab which is not that good and lamb biryani.Biryani it is not typical Hyderabadi and I did not get a taste of biryani as it was pudded with kissmiss.But lamb pieces were good.Over all it is Indian Restaurant tailor made for Americans I guess.Can visit if you have no other options near by.

My husband and I love Indian food and we are so happy their is an Indian restaurant in our neighborhood! We have been to the one in edgewater and we find them both great. We went for buffet today and the food was great and the service was excellent. Very nice place as well. I wish this place the best of luck and hope they stay for a very long time!

After being a long time customer in Edgewater its such a treat to have Kinara in Tenafly! Their food is delicious and theres always something new and unusual to try on the specials menu. Service is warm and gracious, just like the owner who makes us feel like were guests in his own home. Lovely addition to the area!

Service was friendly and attentive. This was sadly without a doubt the worst Indian food I have ever eaten in my entire life. I am convinced the chef accidentally spilled the kosher salt in our food. Not to mention their was no spice in the vindaloo. Kinara in edgewater is great I dont understand what happened here.

Excellent neighborhood Indian. We have been going to kinara in Edgewater for years and are so happy they opened in Tenafly. Food is consistently good. Friendly service. Once they get a little more help on board it will be fantastic!
