Went here for the first time on 9-10-16. Decorum is nice, and friendly staff. The owner/manager was very attentive, however our waitress was extremely rushed, fast talking and moving. Literally before I could even sit my pocketbook down she was at our table asking us what we wanted to drink, dont get me wrong I appreciate not having to wait, however, our butts had barely touched the seats, leaving us little time to take in the ambiance or menu. (and no it was not that busy). The menu was a large laminated two sided picture menu, which gives the restaurant a low scale feel in relation to how it first feels when walking in. Now let me get to the most important part, the food. The menu and all the food has an oriental feel and taste. Which I was not looking for or expecting. Food tasted like it was from the corner Chinese restaurant in an impoverished neighborhood, yet in a more upscale atmosphere. We had the crab cakes, jumbo coconut shrimp, and the fish bites. Crab cakes were very dry, seemed frozen with imitation crab, sauce was watery with little flavor. Shrimp, just eatable. Drinks were the only good thing, loved the coconut sangria. Also, we wanted to eat outside to enjoy the last warm days of summer, however, we were told they were no longer serving outside, although there were people out there, and again, it was not that busy or late into the night. I read on one of the reviews, they have band come out and play, There was no band this night, no acoustics at all while dinning, very boring, just the cracking of those weird colored lobsters at each table. Would never dine at Lobster Pub again.

First off Im not a super picky, always complaining reviewer and Im very forgiving with restaurants. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Came at lunchtime with only a couple other diners there at the time, the waitress seemed overwhelmed but was nice. My two beer choices were out of stock, no big deal. We got a nacho appetizer that was okay but made of fake cheese product. I ordered a burger ($12) but wasnt asked how I liked it cooked which is an issue at that price, then when it came out I realized why, they are frozen patties cooked through to a medium-well doneness by standard. My girlfriend got the baked lobster Mac ($15), we are from New England and love lobster, actually had the same dish elsewhere the night before. This place being named lobster pub means it must be good. WRONG. it tasted very fishy, we both had one bite and decided not to trust it. When asked we mentioned it seeming too fishy and perhaps unfresh so naturally they bring out the manager and her response was exactly "well it is lobster you know? Someone just ate it yesterday and loved it." Then continued on a tangant about how fresh their food is. Never once did we receive any apology from the manager, just treated like Ive never eaten seafood before and I was an idiot. On a plus side the food came out very fast, explains the quality. I believe in second chances for food blunders, but I felt very uncomfortable with how I was treated by the management staff. On a side note the waitress was very apologetic and kind and this review does not reflect her performance.

My husband and I went there for the 1st time on Saturday Oct 15. We loved it!!! We thought the restaurant itself was upscale but not snobby. Finally a reasonably priced restaurant that doesnt look like its 100 years old and dirty on the inside...! The bathrooms were spotless which I take as a sign the place is clean in all the other areas...lol. The bar is fantastic and the types beer on tap are many. The staff was great from the time we walked in the door, especially Kourtney our server. She was efficient, friendly and adorable. The manager Adele/man..(dont be mad if I spelled that wrong) was so nice and came over to make sure we had a great experience and our food was all we wanted it to be, thank you for that. We had the calamari and soft shell crab for appetizers...they both were great. I had the steamed lobster which came with corn on the cob and some potatoes...all was great, lobster done perfect and all for 18.99!!!! My husband had the t-bone steak, done just the way he asked, also a great value at 19.99 which came with a generous portion of green beans and potatoes. Very happy we tried this place and will definitely be going back. Not sure why when I signed on to do this review my sons name came up...I guess hes been there too! Im going to yell at him for not telling me about this place sooner!!! Cindy and Gary Firestine Spotswood NJ

I wish there were 2 &1/2 star rating as i feel they are better than 2, but not 3. I may have just been there on an off night. I love topas bars as they have sharable items. The portions here were large for a topas bar which usually serve smaller portions so a group shares multiple items on a menu. The items i ordered were good and there were other items on the menu i wanted to try. My issue was with service and the volume of the music. Everyone around the bar was yelling to be heard. Which was dumb for 2 reasons. One, its a bar, not a dance club. 2, the target market is affluent 25-45 y.o. not 16-21 y.o. bop around club types. Bars are often loud with music, which is great, but when the music is so loud the others are yelling in conversation, you have to wonder if your too old and out of touch. Im 35. As for the service, it was just stupid. You may have better service. I waited 30 minutes before deciding to leave as i couldnt get service at the bar. I wanted a 3rd beer. Now, while i couldnt get service at the bar, when i put on my jacket to leave, i had the bartenders attention. Ive been here 16 days. I leave tomorrow. Tried them the 1st day here. Havent been back. What good is food if you cant get service?

Been there multiple times, great place overall! Also a good date spot. The service is always pretty good. The staff is friendly, courteous and flexible. We came once with a large party and wanted to take over the outside area... no problem. Weve asked for booths with only 3 people and they never complain. Theyre also very attentive and some will even strike up a useful conversation with you. Often times the manager will come around and personally make sure everything is ok. Sometimes if theyre really busy, Ive seen the manager pick up the slack and help the servers or bartender out, which is admirable Why 4 stars then? The food can be a hit or miss. It usually ranges from decent to really really good. Every now and then it wont hit the spot, but most times it does. I cant say Ive had any BAD food there though. Their Sunday brunch buffet is also pretty good. The bar is excellent btw. Good draft selection, same for other stuff. tl;dr: go there, you wont be disappointed.

We decided to try the local lobster place rather than the chain nearby and we were pleasantly surprised! The lobster cheese dip was great, and we both had the seasame salmon and loved it. There are several other things on the menu we would like to try if we get to come back. They have lobster bisque and a large salad bar. The drink menu is nicely varied. We also took some mango mousse to go and it was light and delicious (looks like a slice of cheesecake but its lighter and very mango! ) Lobster Pub has been in this location since June 2016, so disregard the reviews older than that since they are from the 365 Bistro that used to be here. Give this place a try and you may love it.
