I sometimes stop here because its very convenient on my way back and forth between Somerset and North Brunswick. This past Friday, I was driving by with my toddler and decided to get a gift card for a baby shower to which we were running late. Just to make sure they had an appropriate gift card, I called from my phone to ask customer service. I was in the parking lot already but getting a toddler into a store for nothing was an epic letdown I wasnt willing to experience at the moment. A girl picked up the phone sounding not particularly warm but thats okay. I asked if they sold any Target gift cards and she replied curtly "no". I then asked for a few suggestions of gift cards they do sell and she replied again curtly "I dont know". I couldnt help but giggle on the phone at the oxymoronic nature of her two answers. She then asked me to hold while she found out what gift cards they carry. At this point, I was already getting my toddler out of the car because this was taking more time that I didnt have. As I walked in, still on hold mind you, the phone started ringing again so I hung up. Customer service is at the entrance so right as I hung up, I saw the girl working customer service laughing with her fellow coworkers. She obviously wasnt checking on my question. The worst part was after grabbing an Amazon gift card, I proceeded to check out where there was only ONE cashier working. Luckily the cashier at the self service helped me instead of waiting behind five people to buy one item. When I went to speak to a manager, he was having a verbal altercation with a homeless person. I hightailed out of there. If you must go here, get your groceries and keep your head down. If you want a somewhat decent experience where you can ask for help and have more than one lane open at checkout, travel about two miles into Somerset and go to the Stop and Shop on Easton Ave.

Things I hate about Stop and Shop: 1. Everything they sell is overpriced and low quality. I vomited 1 time from eating a pizza they had in the refridgerated secton, when I called the company they said when they send it to stop and shop it is frozen and if they put it in the fridge stop and shop is supposed to put a sell by date on it, which they didnt. Always check the expiration date on everything!! I learned thsi the hard was, many time bring home items that they still had on the shelf that were expired. Stop and shop always has bruised, marked, molded low quality fruits and vegtables, which is not good for the fruit and veggies because their "skin" is their protection once you mess that up they are susceptible to the pesticides/ bacteria and anything else that ion the fruit to get into the core of the fruit and theres no way of washing that off. The last thing I hate about stop and shop is "pink slime" , if you dont know google it!!! If you had any doubt in your mind about the quality of stop and shop foods then the pink slime they put in their meat should clear it up. Higher price doesnt always mean higher quality.Point prove. The only good thing about stop and shop is that I have 2 that are 5 mins away. Ill rather drive to shoprite which is 25mins away for better quality and low prices.

Been shopping at Giants in VA (looks like a part of Shop and Stop) and the customer service there has always been incredible. Compared to that the customer service at this Shop and Stop is the worst ever except for the deli and the fish section(they are very nice) The Help Desk and the checkout staff definitely did not get any training. If there isnt a scanning code on a product while you are checking out yourself, they make you go back and check the price yourself, while the employees stand there and chat and text on their phones. Other grocery stores will bag items for you even if you go to the self checkout line, here they dont give a damn.

I bought prepacked squash noodle and zuccini noodle. Big mistake. When I opend the package the squash had a sour smell and it looked gooey. The zuccini had a weird smell to it, too. I could not take the risk getting food poisoning, everything went in the garbage. Take the produce of the shelf if its spoiled already, total waist of my money. I will never shop here again.

This cavernous grocery store is only a few miles from the location of the former A&P, but its miles away in terms of experience. Whereas the ShopRite locations feel congested, packed, and basically claustrophobic, Stop n Shop feels huge in comparison. The prices are a tad higher, but the trade off may be worth it for you!

I asked for ham and provolone, I kept getting coerced to get chicken by employee.. she offered me spicy cheese.. after a ten minute wait when Im the only customer, I just said whatever. I wound up with Jack cheese. Yuk. Cashier have me back small bills when I got $100 cash back. Never again.

Shopping in the store was easy but the cashier was very slow I dont see how she has a job there when other cashiers did 3 customers to her doing us and they had same amount of stuff we had

Great place to shop for groceries. Reasonably priced food. Beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables. The largest sales circular Ive ever seen for a grocery store.
