Horrible food, not capable of making orders correctly, waited 40 mins. for dinner, and it was cold. Vegetables were overcooked, only 2 out of 5 entrées were eaten, too bad to even take home, not credited. The dinner menu is overly complicated; the use of poor pairing options & food choices are basically the same dishes recreated over & over again, given new names, with no use of imagination or simplicity. Never ever use "fake" mashed potatoes and pass them off as real- it just shows the public the poor choices being made by the head chef. Also, if you have a dinner rush, making customers wait unreasonable amounts of time, please stock plenty of bread-fresh bread, and not tell customers that theres a 45 minute wait for new bread to be made. If it is being made in house, either hire more help, or someone experienced in dessert preparation. Id like to see it succeed, Ive only had dinner there, but until the kitchen is overhauled, please at least skip dinner and a hefty bill to go with inedible food.

Excellent food! Looking for. A restaurant while staying in Ocean City, NJ for Memorial Day weekend. No need to look any further than this restaurant. I had the cream of broccoli soup, half chicken with chestnut stuffing, mashed potatoes with chicken gravy and fresh broccoli & it was excellent! Two people in my party had fillet mignon medallions and they both loved it. It was cooked according to their specifications. Meat was tender. My son had the bacon cheeseburger and he said it was one of the best hes had. They offered a lot of seafood options and alot of specials. The desserts looked pretty good. We havent eaten the chocolate Mooses we ordered because we took them to go. Too full to eat dessert already! The waitress was very friendly but professional. She was attentive, informative and service was quick. Portions are large. I could have shared my plate. We will definitely be coming back here to eat every time we stay in Ocean City, NJ. Try it!

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best diners in southern New Jersey. They have an extensive menu, with generously portioned dinners. The restaurant itself is quite large as well, so if you dont want to sit near all the farting grandmas or shouting people and their babies, you have plenty of seating options. There is a bar as well, which I guess is pretty cool. Their bathrooms are so! clean! And tucked away nicely, so that means no Depends-scented salmon for you, sir. The staff is pretty good as well, with some waitresses being more attentive than others. But its a great experience overall, very clean.

I read other reviews and had high expectations. I thought it was very good, but not spectacular. The prices were higher than expected, but the food was average. The service was very good. The interior design was more beautiful than your average diner. I had the Seared Day Boat Scallops which were cooked perfectly. My wife had an ample portion of Chicken Française which was tender and perfectly seasoned with an appropriate amount of breading and sauce. The Jewish Apple Cake was dry and disappointing. All tolled, I would try it again to see what else might be as fantastic as others have said.

I am speeking on behalf of a former employee. She worked on the wait staff about a year ago or so. Her time there wasnt so pleasant. The kitchen staff continually made sexual remarks to her and the owners son wasnt so innocent himself. The majority of the kitchen staff are illegals. But ownership doesnt seem to care. If you have worked at the windjammer and had a similar experience please post a comment. We can not let this happen to anyone else. We need to let people know what goes on there. Its disgusting and needs to stop.

Went there after we walked out of a horrible restaurant called Yesterdays. Dont ever go there. The staff at Windjammers was great. We were all talking and not looking at the menu and our waiter was just fine with that. The food was great! Too much for the price. Even the salads were huge. When we left the manager even came outside and took pictures of all of us! Great experience. We even went back 4 days later. Cant wait until next year. They will be the first place we stop to eat! Thank you Windjammer! See you next year!

Do not go to the windjammer!! The food is VERY over priced and the quality is so so. I saw what looked to be a manager yelling at the workers and looked as if he did not care how mean he got. I felt so bad for the worker I even had to and try to console her because it looked like she was about to cry. It keeps getting worse because there was something wrong with my order and I talked to the boss named Steve and not only did he not help the situation he mocked me. I would not recommend coming here to my worst enemy.

Basically an upmarket diner. Excellent food, good service. Had an amazing lump crab salad for dinner, so big had to take half home. Friend had lump crab cakes, big and beautiful, served with rice and veggies, veggies perfect, crab cakes delicious! Again had to take half home. Service was not bad but not too attentive. Waitress friendly enough but not really interested in waiting on us.

Did not enjoy this experience - perhaps it was because it was off-season and in the afternoon?? The steak was underdone - even after being sent back. The chicken Marsala tasted (and looked) like canned mushroom gravy rather than true Marsala sauce. I realize this is a popular place. It must have been a new cook or an off day. I doubt I will give them a second chance.

We found The Windjammer in June on a trip to Ocean City. This restaurant has a very varied menu. We ordered filet mignon medallions with mushrooms. The meat was delicious and tender. Mashed potatoes were homemade. The corn on the cob was sweet and probably local. Our server. Donna was very helpful and friendly. The meal was prepared quickly.

Service was excellent. Love their basket of 3 different kinds of bread that tasted all good and is served freely. I tried their clam Cappellini in white sauce but tasted too salty to me and clams a bit tough to eat. However my dad tried a salmon dish and it was cooked to perfection. Be careful Flooring was a bit slippery to walk on...

Started off with fried mozzarella. It was A1. My son had soup as did I. Vegetable soup was good. Hearty fresh vegetables. Had Three lobster entree. Delicious. My son had the BBQ Faroe Salmon. He loved it. Service was great. Samantha was friendly and professional. Highly recommend. I have been there several times. Will repeat.

My party of 9 went for lunch. Wait staff was excellent only reason why I have two stars. As far as everything else... We waited over an hour for eggs. Our food came out at different times. When we alerted the hostess of our disappointment in the servive while we paid, she basically said too bad. I would never go back .

The best part of our trip took the Windjammer was that we didnt have to wait. The food was average the service was very slow, it appeared our server was overworked but he was very friendly. It was nice to have a place to go without a large wait but I am not sure it makes up for the average food.
