Last evening, Sat May 4, 2013, we were humiliated by the manager at the Bonefish grill in Pine Brook NJ. My wife ordered a dish which included a slice of Filet Mignon. When we received the order the steak was flat and never have I or my wife seen a piece of filet mignon that appeared that way. We questioned the server and he insisted it was filet mignon. Moments later, we asked our waiter, who sent over the manager on site that evening. The manager came over and my wife was explaining to him that we have never seen a slice of filet mignon that looked like that and we felt it was not filet mignon when he suddenly interrupted her and in effect through his words told her to shut up. I was stunned and humiliated. Still 12 hours later I am angry over the incident. All we wanted was a night out to enjoy what we thought was a nice restaurant. The meat obviously was not a slice of filet mignon, unless the bonefish serves flat pieces of steak about 1/2 thick and calls them filet mignon. To go out and be spending upwards of $150 for 1 hour and to be insulted by the manager on site is an event I will never forget. His resolution was to take $26 off the bill. yes that was something but wouldnt it have been easier and positive customer relations for all if the manager instead simply said; miss, I will go back in the kitchen and get you the slice of meat you are asking for; (which probably costs around $8 judging from the slices they were serving). Overall I cannot believe the judgment shown by this manager and how some one that is obviously not a people person can even get or hold a people facing position in a service oriented industry. At any rate the joke is on the Bonefish if this is their front guy. They will obviously be facing more issues from having this man as the manager. A addressing the public with a short temper in the food business is a recipe for disaster. Finally, I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this incident and to make the Bonefish Grill sound as undesirable of a place to dine in as possible. I am making it my mission to spread the word. The laughable part is all this for an $8 piece of meat. I always thought it was the manager’s job to insure repeat business, not to drive it away.

The food is great. Weve been regulars here since they opened. But the past few months have been a real bummer. Tonight was the final straw. Our waitress was terrible. She spent most of her time on this very busy Friday night socializing with other wait-persons. We arrived a half hour before the end of happy hour & never saw her until it was over. Im used to the wait staff being friendly & helpful, even a little zealous. Ok. When she finally takes our order it seems BFG has gotten a bit stingy; now there is only 1 side plus their garbanzo garnish - if you want a 2nd side it will be an additional 50cents? Realy? OK. 20 minutes later she flies by to say our food would be right out. Another 20 minutes we ask where our food is. Funny how it just happened to be there. OK. At this point we are ravenous & a little ill tempered. No food. No cocktails. Watching all the other wait people actually working, our neighbors being fed & ours just constantly socializing with another waitress. Weve been here an hour including the 15 minute wait. Inevitably we start talking about the last time we were here. The undercooked, poorly made crab cakes, The skimping. As our food arrives we remember how the presentation has scaled to boring. She asks then about drinks. I ask for water. I watch her proceed back to her friend chatting it up. She saw me looking at her. She didnt care. Only a few bites left on my plate I went to the bar & had a glass of water in less than a minute. She eventually came to our table, no water, to take our plates. Guess she knew she blew her tip. The experience really put a damper on our evening. The food is good, but they seem to be losing their edge - becoming just another chain. We realized tonight it is time to move on. There is a time & place for a typical chain experience. BoneFish used to be the exception. I always try to think "What if it were my restaurant? What would I want to know?"

The food was good no complaints there, but it seems like the kitchen cant keep up with the rush which Ive seen n worked at busier places that handled it better, our server couldnt find it get a clean spoon for the 3 of us for our coffee n dessert try eating creme brulee w a fork. The restaurant is either too small, set up poorly or just has too many tables also u r practically sitting up against all the surrounding tables ur packed in there n the poor servers cant even menoover around the place let alone get to the other side of the table n ur scooting ur way through to get to n from ur table between the maze of tables. But food was good nothing crazy special in my opinion is rather go back to outback instead

Michael (who answered my call) was extremely rude. I called asking for a Party of 12 at 6:30. And he said he could not sit us at 6:30, could only sit us at 6. I would have kept the reservation if he didnt proceed to say "call everyone in your party and make sure they are here at 6 and not 6:30, because I dont have room for all of you later, youll mess up the rest of my reservations". Im pretty sure that we wouldve been there for more then 30 minutes, so how would we be messing up everyone else? Ive gone to bonefish several times and while the food is good, its not the greatest! Better manners wouldve been appreciated!

I like Bonefish & the food is consistently very good. Service can be off, depends on who you get & what night you go there. Their wine selections are very nice & I love that they have special, featured wines. The atmosphere is very relaxing even when crowded. The choice of appetizers & fish selections is huge, have a hard time deciding. If you like fish, this is a very good place to go. You can hang out & enjoy a great meal. I dont eat dessert but they look good. Come for the fish, the wine, the ambiance & the special way you feel like you are on vacation.

Came here on a Sunday night around 6pm and its pretty crowded. Fortunately we had a reservation and were seated right away. The lobster stuffed shrimp was pretty good but a little pricey for 4 pcs only. The swordfish and pumpkin ravioli was excellent (especially the ravioli) and the sirloin and crab cake was surprisingly very good. The medium rare sirloin was done just right. It was tender and juicy. The crab cake taste just like the ones in Maryland and there is very little filler. Prices are very reasonable too.
