If I could give no star I would. Someone posted in another review about buffet leftover kebabs, I have had two previous experiences with that when I have ordered food over the phone and picked up kebabs that were cold and dry and went bad in a day or two. We Catered food on Sunday, July 23rd and told them I would pick up at 4pm. I received a call at 3:30pm the food is ready to be picked up and brought out. Told them someone is on the way to pick it up. The food was picked up around 4 pm and brought home by 4:30pm. The biryani and chicken korma and bhindi masala was warm, not hot at all. The beef behari kebab and the lamb chops were cold. I had my chafing dishes out to transfer the food into. My guests arrived at 5pm and since the food was cols, we had to wait until 5:30 for the food to be hot enough to serve. They charged $4 per a paratha that was suppose to be a "lacha" paratha. Looked and tastes like a regular paratha. Called them Sunday saying this is not what I ordered but was told otherwise. Then whatever food was left, which was quite a bit, it was cooled, placed in Tupperware and put in the fridge to use later. Monday evening came home from work opened my fridge and it reeked of spoiled meat. All the behari kebobs and lamb chops went bad, as well as the goat biryani. Called Shalimar spoke to DC, said he would pass my message and someone will call. Tuesday came and went no call, then called Wednesday and the guy Habib seemed irritated told me to speak to Rehan the manager. Called the manager, was told that its my fault that I took cold food from them. Then I was told why did we pick up the food so late, it could have gone bad cause the temperature change from the drive from the restaurant to my home. Then the cook was called and asked whether they gave me fresh biryani or not. Then Im questioned why I waited until Wednesday to call about the spoiled food. Told them I spent over $600 on food that went bad over night. I could understand of it was one item not 3 or 4. Ended up hanging up, no point in arguing with these people. Will never cater from them again!

I love Indian food, love it! Im always willing to try something new. We originally went there thinking that it was still The Noodle House which was fantastic and quite disappointed that it was gone but open to trying the new place. The Butter Chicken tasted like feet, literally, feet. The rice was hard, the Chicken Tikka Masala was chunky and tasted burnt. The Tandoori Chicken was RARE! I truly hope this place closes down and something edible goes into their place. Im home, day two, from work today with a terrible stomach.

Worst restaurant in New Jersey! I had a reservation done one day earlier in Ramadan... they told me it is reserved and even charged my card. The next day I went I had to wait for half an hour as they said they do not have any vacant tables. When we finally got a table, there was nothing left in the buffet. All the dishes were empty and when we asked to refill them they told theres nothing left now. These people do not even value their own word. In Ramadan they did this with us, they dont fear the God. Shame on you!

They dont know even how to make samosas, were horrible went yesterday, white yogurt chutney raita was expired coz taste of yogurt was sour lemon taste which results that its expired and not just that I ordered to go kababs and the raita was still same expired plus salad had little mold on them. Kabobs were fine though thank god. But very bad horrible experience went through, will not go back to this Brunswick location ever, but Edison shalimar is good though.

3.5/5 The food is okay but isnt the best. The lamb chops are very good but I didnt like the other dishes that much. As far as the service goes, not the best, but it works. There are plenty of dishes to choose from and a few desserts also which were good. The atmosphere is dull but I didnt mind it. I wasnt wowed but it was a great value for the price for the price. Its definitely not my first choice next time I go out, but might be my third or fourth.

This place has gotten too big for its breaches. The food is dismal, and the service is even worse. They are discriminatory towards single guys who try to patronize their shoddy restaurant without families. This happened to my friends and I once and I let it go due to us not having "reservations". But they pulled that nonsense again today. I will never go their again.

Me and my family went there for the dinner. Food arrived on time and was more than expected, excellent. Service was very good, they helped us choose our desired food from the menu. All in all we had a great time there. Looking forward to go there again soon. Its really a family place among other shalimar restaurants or any nearby restaurants.

The spices were way off here. I tried several different types of chicken and none of them were good enough to really enjoy. Out of all the different Indian restaurants that I have been to this is the only place I did not enjoy. Great atmosphere and friendly staff however I left disappointed and with a stomach ache. :(

PATHETIC SERVICE, PATHETIC FOOD AND PATHETIC... PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING HALF COOKED FOOD (right out of refrigerator) LAZY SERVICE ( ESP.. when only 2 tables were occupied). Havent had such experience in long time. Makes you appreciate things to take for granted at other restaurants..!!

Sunday noon is the best time to go...food is good not too big a crowd at that hour either. Lamb roast or lamb chops are good and their kabobs arent bad either. Its one of the better places for Indian and Pakistani food in NJ that Ive experienced.

If you are looking for South Indian style dishes, dont even go there! I agree it is cheaper but you have to compromise in quality. I will never go there again. I didnt like any single item in the lunch buffet menu.
