I really enjoyed this location. The service was fast for dinnertime on Saturday night. They had several take out and dine in orders. We arrived at 6:45pm on a Saturday night we were told at least 30-40 min wait. The wait was about 15-20 tops. The food was piping hit and came out as it was placed on the plate from the Smoker. Courteous staff concerned and willing to be patient. Letting you know if they can swap out a order if by chance they miscalculated the amount of food available. They also were willing to help clean up the area as the plates and bones piled up. The place is smaller than the Cookstown location. Be prepared to wait and save a spot. I would recommend Takeout option if available for your needs.

I have driven by this place many times. Not expecting good bbq in NJ, I was pleasantly suprised. Everything seemed authentic and smoked onsite. I started with the jalapeno poppers which are something like ive never had before. Hand made stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon and then smoked. I then moved onto the 2 meat platter and I got the ribs and chopped brisket, along with potato salad and baked beans. The ribs had a great smokey flavor, and the sauce while sweet, was very very good. It was by the far the best bbq I have ever had in the Norhteast. It felt like I was back home in Texas. I will defontely be returning.

Very good good BBQ, one of the best pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches Ive had in recent memory. Yet dont let the awards and accolades of the past fool you. Sometimes there BBQ can be off, you may get brisket thats dry or tough, even rubs that start fall off the bone tender lead to rubbery as prior day cuts are likely used to avoid scraping them. Yet overall a phenomenal restaurant to go for lunch or dinner. In addition there cornbread is one of the most moist and delectable dessert/sides you will ever have be sure to order extra.

Went here the other night to try it out. I asked for burnt ends and the person behind the cash register told me that there were none since it is all shredded in with the pulled pork. Not a good start. When I finally got my food, the brisket was dry and the texture seemed like my order was reheated in the microwave in the back. Not a fan. I will say that the fried Mac and Cheese balls were tasty but given the price and quality, I wouldnt go back.

Ive been fortunate enough to travel over most of this great country and although I have eaten some great BBQ in my travels, I have never eaten any better then what I get at this place..the half chicken is the best chicken Ive ever had, none have even come close..The smoked hotdog is a rare treat..wings are he best in Jersey, specially now that they offer a smoked option..and if you time it right in Oct-Nov the smoked turkey is insanely good

Amazing pulled chicken and ribs - the sides may be uninspiring and the price a bit on the higher side - but the meat is legit. This is a small place with cheap plastic baskets and a counter register for orders (maybe not good for impressing a date / romance) but it has a charm to it that is unexpected and a welcome change from many places where that something has been lost.

always an interesting special on the board...missing the smoked turkey and stuffing sandwich but tried the pulled chicken sandwich tonight...mmmmum!!! this place is bustling but my order came out toot sweet. i felt lucky to be able to chat with the 2 managers about my wish to see smoked bluefish on the special board some day...a gal can wish ;)

Ive been taking out food from Local Smoke for years. I make fabulous ribs, but theirs are just as good and I dont have to work two days for the same results. Ive catered parties from there and there were nothing but raves from guests. Now, with a location in Red Bank no matter where I am near the shore....Im also near Local Smoke!

Total dump, and that is what a BBQ place should look like. No bells and whistles. Just fantastic BBQ. No microwaved garbage, solid meats. Also, I just need to judge a place by their potato salad.....they nailed it. Not "juicy" line the store bought. You can tell its homemade. You need to try this place if you are near by.

Just really tasty barbecue meat dishes and a nice selection of sides, the usual and the uncommon. Table and counter seating. My wife loves the wings, I like the buffalo chicken. Weve driven here just to go for a ride, and brought the food home. Worth the trip, and convenient to Asbury Park and Ocean Grove.

My family and I love it here. This is our go to place for Sunday dinner. The atmosphere is simple, but the food is first rate. Mac and Cheese bites are the kids favorites, and I love the sliced brisket and pulled pork. And Dean is super friendly, and always nice to my girls.

Ive eaten at local smoke once, it was a really stormy day, cold and rainy sometime in february. Coming into this cozy stop was a respite from the wet, and then I ate a pulled pork sandwich with corn bread and fries and I was ready to head back out to work. Great BBQ

In my opinion it was just average. My girlfriends cheeseburger came out way over cooked. She had to send it back. The second one was much better. The prices seem a little bit high too. Theres very limited seating. Overall, a very average experience

This place is hands down the best BBQ in the area. I work for a local IT company, and every Friday we place an order. Everyone in the office looks forward to lunch from Local Smoke, they never disappoint! highly recommended.

Dry flavorless brisket, disappointing pulled chicken. Mashed potatoes were disappointing. The highlight of the meal was corn bread, which was the only enjoyable thing to eat other than the special asparagus salad

Wow! I passed the place at least once a week for a few years. Decided to try it last week. I will definitely be making this stop regularly. Brisket was fantastic and the Ribs... Unbelievably taste!

great bbq place, open later than other places. the fried mac and cheese bites were amazing-brisket and ribs were also very good. just wish there were more places to sit inside, great for the summer

Friendly service and homey. Best bbq ribs and macrooni and cheese, and Cole slaw I have ever had. The ribs were so tender and the taste was unbelievable. Definetly get food from there again.
