Breakdown: 4 - coffee: tried cappuccinos, cortados and macchiatos. Foam is ok to good, but not great; espresso is of lighter Northern roast - my preference. 3.5 - ambiance. Small place, music gets overly loud, especially if the barista is in a good mood. Chairs make a very loud scraping noise when people move them - very unpleasant, and very frequent. 4 - service. Not rude, not friendly. 2 - value. Very expensive, especially for JC. $4.5 cappuccino, $4 cortado. Thats more than at good coffee places in Manhattan: Birch, Eataly, Grumpys. No loyalty program. I must say though, alternatives in JC are just as expensive: Dames (similar coffee rating, maybe slightly less good for foam), the Warehouse (poor foam and coffee is worse).

Im from San Francisco where coffee is treated more like a religion than the simple morning ritual that it is. Lackawanna coffee is a refreshing contrast. No curly mustachioed baristas. No chemistry equipment. No preciously sourced pastries. Just good coffee, good food, good people, and a stylish but laid back environment. I wish we had a Lackawanna back home.

Best coffee shop in jersey city. Plenty of seats, wifi, excellent lattes and an adorable back patio area. I have spent hours doing work at Lackawanna and the staff has always been courteous and the atmosphere is always calm but lively. If youre looking for a place to get some work done or have an intimate chat with a peer this is the place to go!

Great local coffee shop. Good selection of quality teas and delicious quick bites too. Small storefront with a half dozen tables and some high top window seats. When the weather is warm they have a back patio with seating that doubles their size. Nice place to grab a coffee or snack and also a quieter place to get some work done.

Love this place....do yourself a favor and get the cinnamon snail, and have it warmed up. These guys also actually know how to properly steam milk. Nice garden seating and ping pong out back too!

Great place to work on your laptop, get a coffee, or even play ping pong. In the summer months they have a great back yard that really adds to the space. Enjoy.
