In rural Colts Neck Township NJ, lies the Delicious Orchards farm, just off of route 34. Its a indoor retail shop where you can buy all sorts of fruits, vegetables, food, candy, trees & shrubs. Pies, cakes, apple cider doughnuts. Huge selection of meats and cheeses, and free samples of everything galore: ice cream, blueberry cake, organic salsa, you name it. The selection of fruit is enormous and appeared to be pretty high quality. Prices were slightly higher than at grocery stores or Asian markets in the area. Theres a great area out back where you can pick your own blueberries, strawberries & raspberries. Also outside theres a Cider Cafe where you can get hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, apple cider, etc. It was packed when we arrived, but there was ample parking. Id suggest stopping by if youre ever out in this part of NJ. They also have a huge mail order catalogue of items to choose from.

This is a review of shipping rates- not product quality. I customarily order a bakery and fruit box from DO whenever there is a death in a family or a hospitalization, to be delivered. DO uses UPS, which does not deliver on Saturday. Fine. Today is Wednesday, and I ordered a fruit and bakery box to be delivered to Toms River, NJ, approximately 25-30 miles from DO. It would be a default one day delivery due to proximity. When I went to check out, the delivery cost was $36. plus change. Thats crazy! So I went to the website for Linvilla Orchards in Elwyn/Media PA, near the border of Delaware. A basket with the same contents (not just a box) and a handwritten note (not printed) was the same price for the item, but the shipping by FedEx ground was only $13.54. Wow! Linvilla is just as good as DO, so from now on they will receive all my online orders for fruit and bakery gifts.

The only reason D.O. gets 5 stars from me is because Google wont let me give 6! Delicious Orchards is the quintessential farm stand on steroids. Folks literally drive hours from New York to purchase food at DO. Their pies are legendary, the produce turns over so quickly its always fresh, and DO invented "buy local." To top it all off theyre always giving away free samples and they have a ba-jillion check out people. Couple this with outdoor food stalls, beautiful surroundings (even if it is Jersey) and even an indoor glass live beehive and you have great food shopping and a cool place to take the kids on Sunday after church. Go.

THis store is a MUST visit but see one PROblem below good list -great bakery -great fruit -great meat & dairy -great coffee -great cafe -GORGeous gifts, great place to order a gift to send they even have alot of sugar free candy, who has that??yayie! -Friendly,helpful custormer service, everytime! ONE PROBLEM when you order a cake there, while they do use REAL CREAM whipped cream and are very generous with strawberries and frosting, they use STALE cake from the freezer. Every time I have ordered a cake there it was STALE, STOP USING cake from the freezer declicious orchards store!!!!!!! otherwise, a+++++ and fun to visit

If you havent been here I highly recommend you go. They sell a large variety of baked goods that are made in house and all kinds of other goodies. Its like an indoor farmers market of sorts selling all kinds of local produce as well. I love finding things like squash blossoms and other produce you just cant get anywhere else. Delicious Orchards has a nice variety of cheese and meats as well. You wont be disappointed. Ive been coming here for over 30 years with my family and theyve continued to expand. Try the fritter shack!!! And dont forget a glass of their cider!

Cant imagine anything being said that is negative about delicious orchards. They have been in the area forever serving the freshest and best quality foods, both prepared and fresh. The only difficult thing is attempting to leave without something sweet which will lead to hip swelling. A trip to Monmouth county isnt truly complete without a stop here for corn, fruits, pies, etc. Just dont try to get in before Thanksgiving. Although it is a large store, they only let people in when others leave on those type of days.

This place is great, having freshly baked good, fresh meat and fruits/vegetables, and a variety of foods that are less processed and more natural. Because the food is fresh, you do end up paying a bit more for them, but definitely worth the added cost to go here a few times a month. The employees are helpful when you need to find something, samples are a great bonus, and you get quality food with many types you cant find at your local super market. Make sure you try some apple cider when you visit!

One of a few places thats just as good if not better than what I remember as a little kid. Love shopping here and the fruit and veggie section is simply the best. This place when its busy for the holidays is an experience I always look forward too and they handle it so well. Their special events like apple fest are fun as well. Have to try their apple cider and their cider donuts, homemade peanut butter, and in the fall their honey crisp apples are highly anticipated.

Great store for produce only! Their store hours are ridiculous-9:30 to 6pm. Most people commute home from work and dont arrive home in the evenings until close to 7pm; same goes for mornings-people need to commute to work by 8am and may want to shop before they go. They need hours starting at 7:30 am and stay open until 8 or 9pm! They also need to carry more staple items. I wanted english muffins and cannolini beans in can--they did not carry them!

You can not visit Delicious Orchards and walk out empty handed. The absolute BEST Strawberry Shortcake Ive ever tasted. During the holidays, I buy a dozen various mini pies so everyone has their favorite available. Locally farmed fruit and vegetables and specialty grocery items make this a must-see place. The frozen lemonade is my favorite indulgence once I leave the store. Its very easy to spend more than you planned!

Ive shopped at DO for about 40 years. Its gone through many changes, including ownership. I do miss some of the rustic charm of DOs earlier incarnations. But they are still very good in offering fresh fruit and vegetables. The value on these items is also good, considering the quality. Many of the other items for sale at DO are over priced and shopping there on the weekends is very stressful, way too many people.

Tasty baked goods like no where else! This market also has the best produce anywhere! My only complaint is how no money is spent for renovations or upgrades; seriously?! This place does such a tremendous amount of business and clearly makes ludicrous money yet wont invest any money back into the business. This makes it impossible to award a fifth star #nastybathrooms #wornoutfloors #horribleaudiospeakers

Lots of good things to choose from. I have noticed some changes over the years. The cheese section hasnt the high quality it used to have and some of the prepared salads and prepared side dishes arent as good. But, they still offer many high quality jarred and bottled brands you just cant get in the supermarkets. The fruits and vegetables are still of very good quality. Worth the extra trip.
