About 8 or 9 years ago I was driving trucks and worked with a guy whose wife or girlfriend worked here so I figured I would check them out since I was also working on a house in the area and wanted to get some lunch somewhere. I dont remember a whole lot about that visit other than that I was not all that impressed with the diner and had no plans of ever coming back again. That was until a year or so ago when I was talking to a contractor who said he had been doing some work on the diner and that they were really making it a nice place. My opportunity finally came on Saturday when I drove a bus of kids out to the college and had some down time and wanted to go somewhere for a meal. Since I had another driver with me I talked to him and we decided to go ahead and check out Deepwater, it was a good choice. The first thing I noticed was the fact that the parking lot had a lot of cars in it at 9:00 on a Saturday and most of the cars were at least from New Jersey and not necessarily people driving through to check them out. There were also a handful of semis in the parking lot and since I know from experience that truckers know the best places to eat that too is a good sign. Since I have found that when I am ordering something at someplace new that an omelet will usually tell how good a place is I ordered one that of course came with home fries both of which were good and did not taste like the bottled eggs that other places use. It may have been that but if so it was at least fresh and did not taste like they had it sitting around forever. The other driver wasnt sure what to get but decided to just get some pancakes however not knowing what size to order he wanted to make sure he had enough so he ordered the stack of 5. Im glad he did so if I ever come back I will know not to order 5 as they are reminiscent of the ones I got when I ate at Aunt Jennies in Lancaster County. The entire time we were there the service was excellent as our coffees were kept full and everything we ordered came out as ordered though I know with breakfast there is not a lot that can go wrong but still it shows that they are able to do well even with the small things. I will be back though I dont know when but maybe I will try a lunch next time.

About a 2.5. A trip to NJ wouldnt be complete without visiting a few diners and getting my fix of cream chip beef, scrapple, open-faced turkey or roast beef sandwiches and diner desserts. Asked Google for diners along my route and after reading really good reviews decided to give it a shot. The outside isnt much to look at; if I drove by looking for food I wouldnt opt to stop here... but the reviews were good so I went with it. The reuben was good, and the side salad was decent. The home potatoes were yummy and the breakfast was good too, but the scrapple wasnt the best and the chipped beef was basic. The service was attentive but nothing to write home about. When she asked if I wanted to take my scrapple & I told her that it had a strange taste so i didnt eat it, her response was *ooh, we sell a lot of it*, she didnt show empathy, offer a solution, etc. Since its at a truck stop area with lots of truck parking Im sure its a great place for truckers to get some home cooking. But with all the other options for diners in the area, i wouldnt go again.

If there is one thing I love is going to the Deepwater diner, especially on Mondays. I love it for three reasons, one it is actually fast to make the food unlike other dinners. Two it is filling, other dinners make you want to eat tons and tons of food which is not very good for eating habits also think of how much money that would coast, also reminding me of money Deepwater diner is so cheep in a good way because lets say Deepwater diner coasts $15 for two people other dinners might coast $20 so that means your saving some big bills. Finely I like how fancy it looks and most of the time things that look fancy are have lots of 0s added to the number which is not good but there you can make people think[ that guy most have some bills] but really you do not. That is the reasons that I like dinning at Deepwater you should go there some time trust me you will like Deepwater but mostly these reasons and the food. All I have to say is Mmm,mmm.

To be clear, Im a regular and the experience is usually much better than the one which prompted this review; however, on my visit today, I had an almost impossible time getting the waitresses attention, to the pour I was about ready to scream her name across the dining hall [walked past me three times, ignored my raising my hand and saying her name each time,] and she decided unilaterally that I didnt get desert because I was spending time looking up calories on MyFitnessPal. Normally the place is much better than this, but this was also my first time with this waitress.

I love eating at diners, the Deepwater Diner is my favorite in Salem County. The seating and service are always fast. The food is always good and generous. I eat here at least twice a month and always get a chicken pot-pie dinner to go on some Thursdays. Now,today a had breakfast with 3 eggs, home fries, bacon & toast.I thought the price of just shy of $9 was a little pricey. The eggs were small, the toast was small and the bacon was warmed up,not fresh, but lots of potatoes, also 1 cup of very strong diner coffee. But will still return for a different menu item.

Wow what a menu and very very reasonable prices. Seafood platter for $15.95, that is a deal with plenty of scallops, large shrimp, oysters, and large flounder. So many many other selections, and italian and greek entrees were delicious and large portions. Ill be back. PS.....the seafood platter was better in quality and quantity than some of the coastal restaurants in Florida.

I used to deliver milk to this place and had the most absolute nastiest kitchen I have ever been in, mice traps all over, fly traps hanging all in the back, food uncovered that should have been refrigerated it was just nasty and it smelled of rotten meat and uggggh its making me sick thinking about it so not easy here unless you want a food born illness

Good solid NJ Diner giving customers good service & a vast menu of good food in a nicely remodeled diner setting. Prices are very affordable. Great place to catch up on local news with the locals. Of the Salem County diners I rank Deepwater at #1 overall with the others competitive.

Service is almost always good. We lived in pennsville for a couple years before finding this place. We were thrilled that there was something opened 24 hours. The food is great. Soup is amazing, and the cheese steak wrap is great. My fiance always gets the chicken parm and loves it.
