Went there last month, everything was fine. No issues! We went today and I have never experienced WORSE service in my entire life. My mom had to go get menus for us, they didnt bother to get them, then we sat for 35 MINUTES waiting for our DRINKS and no waitress or anyone came by during that time. I had to go inside and ask where they were. And it wasnt just us waiting for food, everyone else outside on the patio were too. Then it took another 20 minutes AT LEAST for our food and appetizers. It was an absolutely horrendous time being there. And our waitress was miserable and emotionless. Absolutely horrible service Ive never seen anything like it. Also, THEY WERE NOT BUSY. There were 3 tables with people inside. Then to top it all off the food wasnt hot. My sister didnt even finish her chicken wrap because it sucked. I have no idea why we stayed and kept waiting. Terrible. Will never be back again. And it makes no sense because we were there just last month and it was 100% fine. Makes Brigantine look bad.

If you are looking for good food and great service, this is the place!! My husband and I eat there any time we are in town. Now the last time we ate there it was an extra special day. We got married on Saturday and invited all our guests to have brunch on Sunday at another restaurant in the area. This restaurant does not take reservations for parties as large as ours due to the size of the restaurant. However when the other resteraunt cancelled on us just 3 days before we were meant to arrive. I phoned the owner and explained our situation. Even though they dont normally do this he told me that he would do whatever he could to help. He closed a big majority of the restaunt off for us, and went above and beyond to make the brunch perfect. Our guests have been raving about the food as well as the great service! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!!

24 years ago I had my 1st date with my with at the Pirates Den so it has a special place in my heart. Unfortunately we moved off the island and live in Virginia now so we only get back once a year. These owners are doing it right - the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable plus you are sitting directly across the street from the beach. Tonight I had the "Twin Grilled Chicken Breast" and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. My wife had Shrimp, scallops & Calamari Fra Diavolo and she is still talking about it - the seafood was also cooked perfectly and the tomato sauce was the best she and I have ever tasted and I am going to campaign that they bottle the stuff or I am just going to try and move back. You cant go wrong, give it a try and you will keep coming back.

The Pirates Den has been a family tradition ever since I was a kid. My favorite memory Sunday breakfast/ brunch. Everyone would meet up there. The poor waitresses having to deal with a huge loud Italian family!!! They have an extensive menu. There is something for everyone. Even the most discriminating picky eaters will find a YUMMY entree! My family has been living in Brigantine since the 1940s. Now, everytime i come home to visit, the Pirates Den is one of my first stops. Make sure to try their mushroom egg swiss omlet (they load it with cheese) and the linguini with white wine clam sauce is legendary! Wear loose fitting pants, the portions are XXL and mmmmmm. MANGIA!!

An extensive menu plus a lot of early-bird specials (seated by 5:30 pm) make this place a good value bet. Plus, BYOB cuts down on the price of a meal. Seafood well prepared (linguini with white clam a huge portion with tender fresh -- not canned -- clams). Clam chowder to start well made ($2.50 supplement on early-bird which includes soup of the day or salad). Avoid the twice-baked potato, though -- dry. At lunch, pizza cheese steak with extra meat will feed two for $8, and meatball parm sub also enormous and good for $7. Breakfasts are also top notch and large. Try the chipped beef or an American cheese omelet. Friendly service to boot.

Have been here very occasionally--usually when a friend wants to go. The food is very ordinary. I suspect much of it is frozen and/or microwaved--at least thats the way it looks and tastes. We had to wait over 45 minutes for our order just after 1:00 yesterday. We were not warned that the kitchen was supposedly "slammed" by two tables of ten. Most restaurants should be able to handle this. The dining room otherwise wasnt crowded. My biggest beef, though, is the "no refill" drink policy on their $2.50 ice tea. Refusing me a second of this inexpensive drink (glass full of ice) has lost them a customer!

Pretty horrible service. The food is ordinary and salmon was dry... so were the crabs that came with my salmon. Our server was nice although she forgot A LOT. We asked for applesauce with our dinner and she forgot it after me and my mom told her... TWICE!! My mom was very frustrated and had to pay for our applesauce that we didnt even get. Our food came very.. very.. VERY slow. Our first waitress left after she got us BREAD. I wouldnt recommend going to this place for dinner but Im not sure how their breakfast and lunch are. It reminded me more of diner food than restaurant food.

My mother insists on eating here every year we come down for vacation. Yay...no more. The wait time is ridiculous. Over an hour for food to come to table. After all that time you hope for something great...no. Mediocre at best. The icing on the cake came when I looked up and saw a roach on the wall behind my mothers head. We informed the waitress and were offered a to go dessert!!! More food after we saw that. Dont think so. Paid our bill there for the last time. Sorry.

When the food finally came (breakfast) it was quite good but waiting 25 minutes just to get water and coffee at a breakfast place is truly inexcusable. It took an hour from when we sat down until we were served food. I understand the summer is busy and waiting for a table on a rainy Saturday morning can take some time. For a place that has been around this long and is an institution in Brigantine, this level of service is really inexcusable. Customers deserve better.

A little oasis on the north end of Brigantine. Food is great. The help all have really good attitudes. We visit the Pirates Den whenever we come to the shore. I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. We invited friends to the Pirates Den. Best fried flounder I have ever tasted! Update: the chicken Marsala is excellent. And the twice-baked potato is the best. New management has kept the same staff. Good move! Strongly recommend it!

Ownership and decor might have changed slightly but most of the staff and menu are the same. Wide variety of offerings for breakfast and lunch. My favorites include waffles with strawberry and whip creme when in season or the Lobster Eggs Benedict. Can get crowded in during the tourist season and weekends. Great views of the ocean from the sea wall right across the street. Not particular well suited for larger parties (6+).
