Great to be able to take really nice seafood dinners back to my family at our oceanfront we rented for the week at a price that was very reasonable compared to the rest of the island. Recommend placing an order ahead of time so you can just pick it up instead of waiting for it (great for getting home from the beach, getting everyone settled, having drinks/etc., then dinner is ready to be picked up). Try to talk to the owner if she is walking around -- very helpful/interesting. Only complaint -- very crowded and stressful when ordering/picking up. You need to know where youre going. Favorites: scallops, fish tacos, mussels, crabcakes, and vodka sauce.

PHEW ... summer is here and the great performance art of OTH is as GREAT as it ever was !!!!.. our 6 dinners came out perfect.. worth the winters wait .. Shrimp scampi was done perfect as was the penne... full of flavor but not overpowering.. the fried softshell crab dinner was crisp and juicy... but the star of the show for our crew is the mussels !!!! hot and spicy... perfect size, flavor and the sauce is heaven,,,,leftover sauce will be frozen and live on !!! and its still a deep breath to see my old friend John on the wall..miss him

We have enjoyed Off the Hook since they opened. Having their connection to the fishing fleet really pays off. Everything there is fresh and wonderful. Their NE Clam Chowder is the best I have had and if you like spicy food you have to check out the Hot and Spicy mussels as an appetizer. As far as their prices go. If you spend a lot of time at LBI you know that everything is expensive. I have eaten at much pricier places and not enjoyed the food nearly as much as at Off the Hook.

My friends and I stopped in for lunch yesterday--amazing. I thought this would be a pricey, pretentious seafood place and I was completely wrong. The manager *loves* fresh seafood and it shows. I had grilled tuna, scallop bisque, fries and coleslaw for $11.50. The tuna was fresh off the boat--in fact he said it would be shipped to the Fulton fish market that night--meaning we got it 12 hours earlier than "fresh."

Disappointing lunch. I ordered the grilled tuna sandwich, and you would think a place that catches food fresh would have a better filet of fish. I was given a thin and overcooked piece of tuna buried inside a monstrous sized roll. All you could taste is bread and wasabi. I completely understand "island prices" but the quality should be there. Overall a disappointing and overpriced experience

Good seafood, which should be a given considering they source it right off the dock, but no bargains here. Believe it or not, salads are great, but stay away from the sauces. Pretty much a take out place, but if you can find a vacant picnic table ( there are a few) you can enjoy your $25 entree on plastic plate with your plastic fork.

Ate here a few times during our stay at LBI, cant say I had anything bad. Grilled scallops, broiled scallops, scallops wrapped in bacon, scallop bisque, seafood sausage (different but good) the homemade chips were excellent the fries are the battered kind and are excellent as is the slaw. Would recommend it to anyone.

Nice quiet neighborhood place...order inside eat.outside.....had a nice piece.of Tuna on Asian style slaw...only change I would make is do away with the plastic containers...plate would have been fine...more friendly.

Last year I had the best Tuna Taco at Off The Hook. I went back this year and the Tuna Taco is still amazing along with the Tuna Pole they now have. I would eat her every meal if my family would let me.

Surprising. Good stuff. One way on the Island to beat exorbitant restaurant prices, and get GOOD seafood. We like to pick up, and drive over by the marina to eat. Cant beat it! Best prices at LUNCH!
