I came here Friday October 23rd. My girlfriend and I shared a sampler and she ordered fried pierogies. I ordered fried chicken. The sampler and the pierogies were good but the fried chicken wasnt that great. I sent back the chicken and ordered the blue cheese burger. It was very good and made up for the fried chicken. The manager was very polite and took off the fried chicken and the burger off our bill. I was impressed with his generosity and how he handled the situation. I was also impressed with the staff and our server, Tyler, was very good. I woke up the next day feeling very ill and I had nonstop diarrhea for over ten hours straight. I would have went to the hospital if it wasnt for the five figure bill I would have received. I waited it out and it cleared itself up but it was the worst stomach ailment Ive ever had. Even though the food was mostly good and the service was good, I am not sure how clean everything is there and I wont be coming back.

VERY cool place! Had burger with bacon and cheddar cheese and it was sooo tasty!!! Great fries and an awesome chocolate shake! Heading down from Albany to a show in Newton and saw this place on the map. THANK YOU GOOGLE! If I am EVER anywhere near the Chatterbox again, I will CERTAINLY stop by. The bldg. is very interesting, as I have never eaten in the "round" before! Great decorations and quite fitting. Service was very good too. When we explained we were going to a show and we wanted the brownie sundae to go, BUT with no toppings, we were given a brownie apiece and charged just for one! (And the brownie was quite good too.) Highly recommended if you are in the mood for a burger and fries and good shake! Had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to clear but it was 7pm on a Friday and there is plenty to look at while you wait. Thanks to EVERYBODY @ the Chatterbox!

I have been coming to the Chatterbox every Sat. night for the car cruises since they opened (2003). It has been a very good place to go and look forward every week to go there, but this year has not been very good. The prices are way to high, and the service has become very poor. I will not be ordering food there anymore. Tonight (8-22-15) was awful. I was appalled by the way the people were leaving the restaurant. Many cars were either spinning there tires or racing down the highway with no regard for anyones safety on the highway. No one in charge made ANY attempt to stop them. My wife was killed by someone who was driving like this, and it really struck a nerve. Maybe something should be done to put a stop to this before someone is seriously injured or killed. There is no reason for this. These people need a wake up call.

This place is seriously one of those joints you must absolutely visit at some point here in New Jersey. The restaurant itself is really cool as a drive-in, and the interior Decor is a lot of fun. They even have a live DJ spinning fifties and sixties songs on the weekends. But what you never expect is just how good the food is. They step it up a notch by making all of the little things stand out. Even their honey mustard sauce is made in-house. This sort of details keep bringing me back over and over again. Great place for the kids too since theres a lot for them to look at and play with and even the kids meals come in a little cardboard fifties car!

We moved here recently and i could tell when we pulled up we were in for a treat. Our family just loves this place. Great atmosphere and kind staff. Usually a nice treat in the middle of this 50s themed restaurant. My favorites were the Batmobile and other classic hot rods. Old movie posters grace the walls and a train chugs quietly around the building. From the Big Bad John.. to the fried chicken, burgers, pulled pork ...everything is great. The kids dinners were served in cute Lil cardboard cars. Dont forget the classic shakes. This place is a cant miss especially with the kids!

45 minutes to get our food AFTER ordering, not including the wait for a table. Our server didnt check on us once during our 45 minute wait for our food. She did chat it up with her other server friends though. We ordered a grilled cheese and a steak sandwich, these items shouldnt take that long. ESPECIALLY at a DINER. To our servers credit when our food did arrive she profusely apologized for the lengthy wait and offered a dessert on the house without us even mentioning or complaining about the long wait. The food definitely was not worth a 45 minute wait.

This place has easily the potential of a 5 star review and experience. The theme of this place is phenomenal!!! The food is decent when you actually get it. The wait staff for me has been kids that make a lot of mistakes and are very slow. Summer Saturday nights they have cruise in nights but they put QQs around the building and the modern muscle to the grass. Thumbs down to that because if the car is a rust bucket but has QQs they can park in the lot. So that keeps a lot of the modern muscle guys away.

This restaurant has failed to whip-up a horrible burger or send out a bad appetiser. Everything from the fried Mac & Cheese to a Buckaroo Burger… I enjoy it all the time! This is the place that I must stop at every time I am in Sussex County, NJ! Id even make the trip up to Sussex County to make a valid excuse to head to the Chatterbox any day - bring a friend or two and show them whats so great about the Chatterbox after showing them the beautiful scenery of the great northwest [New Jersey!]

Not only is this a really fun place with really good food...its VERY kid friendly, the owner REALLY understands hospitality...but a REAL Standout...I have seen this place cleaning their menus! Most restaurants do NOT....And I have read so many articles on how menus are the most germ filled part of a restaurant...I observed the wait staff thoroughly cleaning all the menus...might seem like a strange thing to write about, but it shows the attention to detail and care for the customers.

The Chatterbox was a really unique diner. The burgers and the Big John (pulled pork sandwich) were good, and the milkshake was great. Beyond the food, this is a really neat place because of the old school feel. The dining room is a big round space with a classic car on display in the middle. They have all kinds of old school movie memorabilia. You feel like you are in Happy Days or American Graffiti. Service was great and prices were very reasonable. Definitely a cool spot to visit.

a whop bop beloo bop belop bam blows! the underage staff of pre pubescent christian style hooter girls were more concerned with texting than serving. The owner which greatly resembled the uni bomber, chester the child molester and your good old fashioned neighborhood peeping tom, patrolled around to neglect how bad his set up is.. the food is outrageously terrible and over priced. The atmosphere is like a bad dream. do not go here if you fear for your health. two thumbs way down.
