They think the food is so good they can treat you however they want. I have heard people in the east coast are a little bit harder on the ears. But that old lady who is either the manager or owner is the rudest, mean, stuck up person i have ever seen run a sandwich shop. I came in there 30 minutes before they close and she threw a fit that i wanted to eat it there because they close soon. I forgot how hard it is to clean off a table after a man eats a sandwich in 5 minutes. No silverware so no dishes just a table wipe down. Put your hours of operation at close at 730 instead of 8 if you do not want to sell anything after 730. I could not believe it. literally threw her arms up and said some bad things when i said i would prefer to eat here if you dont mind. Then on top of it i said onions and mushrooms only on my cheesesteak. I had to eat it in my car she threw lettuce and tomatoe on it. What a joke she did that on purpouse what person eats a philly cheesesteak with lettuce and tomatoe. There was 2 older ladies let me make it clear one was nice. The one with white hair and a pony tail has destroyed any chance of me ever giving them business. If you like to feel like a scumbag while you eat. I implore you to try white house subs.

youd think a place that has been around longer than WaWa would be better organized. I have been going to the shore for many years and rarely to this place. Not clear where you wait or who to talk to when ordering a sub. Plenty of waitresses walked by me saying nothing, the take out ticket sign at the FAR end was packed with people picking up bags of hoagies and you couldnt get to it. I ended up standing behind some guy at one of the apparent sandwich making stations. He left and before I could say anything was back asking where his other sandwich was. After waiting for that cheesesteak to be cooked the sandwich maker started calling out numbers from the impossible to get to ticket area. Plenty of people behind the counter - who never asked me a thing about what I wanted or was trying to do. I left. One thing you have to keep in mind, all these sandwich places use the same bread. Sackos, Dinos, Florida Cold Cuts... and yep. They are all great hoagies. Youll never see me waste my time at the White Wash again!

Went here on a friends recommendation. Typical hole in the wall...hasnt been updated in years, slightly dirty, but it was crowded so we stayed to see what the fuss was about. Sandwiches/subs were nothing to write home about, however the sandwich makers were a bunch of creepers. All the guys were grossly flirty, copious amounts of innuendo and eye raping going on. The guy who made my sub was staring at me the whole time in an uncomfortable way...you know like you would swear he was a public masterbator...good thing Im pretty sure he was making my sandwich the whole time. The worst part is when he was done, he put my sandwich up on the counter and intentionally touched my hand when handing it to me...the sub is over a foot long and there was no need to really even hand it to me, but he slide his hand purposely to meet mine where I had grabbed the sandwich...staring at me the whole time like he was waiting to see my reaction. Gross! Cashier was also rude. Dont waste you time at this place, does not live up to hype.

Drove all the way from New York to see what all the fuss was about. First off, im from The Bronx. Arthur Ave (Little Italy) has some of the best, most authentic Italian delis in the country. Now back to White House Subs. The place is old...so what!! If you want new and fancy go somewhere else looser! I had the White house special. The bread was fresh and had the right balance of firmness and softness. The lettuce was nice and green and crisp. The provolone was mild and the meats were flavorful, cut to the perfect thickness and were not to salty. The hot pepper relish was good, not to spicy. The tomatoes were cut perfectly. Just the right amount of oil. The sub was packed well, it was firm, moist but not messy. Over all...It was PERFECT!!! Now, the service...I waited about 30 minutes for a table, once seated my order was promptly taken and served, i ate, i paid, and I left. Just the way us New Yorkers like it...

It was a terrible experience. The service s horrible, the guy waiting on me was arquing with another worker and he messed up my order because he was to busy running his mouth. I told him no onions on the one sandwich and peppers on the side for the other sandwich. He put onions on the one sandwich and had no peppers at all for the other sandwich. I asked him when he was done with the sandwiches if he put the peppers on the side he gave me an attitude and said yes, he was lucky he was behind the counter and not in reaching distance. He gave another customer attitude also. The worker was a little fat guy with no personality. The place was not customer friendly, very hectic. You just wanted to get out of that place. The worst experience ever. When I had my sandwich it was average at best. I cant understand the hype it was terrible. Pick another place to buy a sandwich not the Whitehouse!!!

You cant get a better cheesesteak anywhere! Ive been to both Pats and Genos in Philly, this place blows them both out of the water! One of the few places that truly lives up to the hype!! HUGE subs...a "half" is what most places call a whole. The bread is fresh, delivered several times a day, and its stuffed with meat. Plenty to share...bring your appetite, or a friend! Love the atmosphere, the pics all over the walls of all the celebs(new&old) that have been there over the years, even loved the staff...they can seem a little snippy or sarcastic, but to me it added to the charm of the place. Expect to wait in line...but it is DEFINITELY worth it. We drive over an hour, each way, to get our hoagies and cheesesteaks without a second thought...YES, they are THAT good! This place deserves more than just 5 stars!! White House Sub Shop Rocks!...THE ABSOLUTE BEST EVER!

Heard about this place and went the next day after my bachelor party after hearing about how good the sandwiches are. Went intent on getting a cheesesteak and was thoroughly disappointed. Should have gone with one of their cold subs or tunas that looked great. First off, no sandwich is worth waiting, just to place the order. 1 hour to order, than 30 more minutes. Granted it was Sunday, if Im waiting that long, it better be good, and it wasnt. They started putting oil on the grill and cooking the meat in that (oil? in Philly youd be run out of town for doing that). Then threw on onions, more oil, and then cheese. Everything tasted like oil. I wouldnt go back for a cheesesteak, might do so for a sub or for the tuna though. Call head might be a better move too!
