Hands down the best subs on the planet. Theres not even a competition. The portions are gigantic, so if youre getting a whole sub, youre looking at 2-4 meals, depending on your preferences. The bread is the best in the business, the onions are white and finely chopped and never overwhelming, the lettuce is shredded and perfectly sized to not be a pain to eat, the tomatoes are huge and freshly sliced Anns delicious, the oil and vinegar is some magical, mystical blend that only tastes of euphoria and dreams, and whatever meat you get will be sliced as you watch (tuna excepted for obvious reasons, but the tuna is divine, too) and piled so high that youll wonder how your mouth will fit. Thats the standard toppings list (if you said a number 5 with everything, thats the everything), but there are some other options that Im not familiar with so leave for others to expound the virtues of. For my case, Ill go hours out of my way to get a Tastee Sub and never regret it.

Delicious and I never had a problem UNTIL about two years ago. I asked my bf to buy a roast beef sandwich for me. He gets it with cheese, and I dont believe cheese belongs on roast beef. I I lift the bread to try and take the cheese off... AND THE MEAT WAS GREEN! WTF? NOW Im glad he got the cheese! I call them and tell them about it and the manager GIVES ME ATTITUDE. Wtf. They offered to make me another sandwich. Another rotten sandwich? Are you kidding me? So I go there to get a refund, and they refund me $11, instead of $12 (the cheese is an extra $1). I tell them they should not be doing that quietly so that the other customers dont hear, and they dont give two sh*ts to listen except the chick behind the register who kept staring at me. I wasnt making a big scene, just saying that its wrong. CHECK YOUR MEAT BEFORE EATING! Have not been back since.

Well I am going to give it 4 stars for the food and 2 start for the service. My family and friends have been going to the Edison shop for over 15 years and I have to say the service has really gone down hill. No one smiles, no one says thank you or have a great day. I went in there this past Sunday evening and stood at the glass counter for 4 minutes while the guy behind the counter just stared at me. He then says "are you ready?" (No other indication that he was ready to take my order, just had me standing there looking crazy at him.) I am starting to wonder if its maybe "certain" types of customers they are just not friendly to. Very disappointing if that is the case especially with a picture of Obama plastered on the counter. But hey maybe thats just MY experience going there.

Decided to stop here on a Monday that was a Holiday (2-20-17) on our way back from NYC heading back to Virginia. The person I was traveling with raved about this place as they grew up near by. It was absolutely delicious. Generous portions, fresh meat, fresh bread, good customer service. No wonder my old boss President Obama ate here. A lot of times President Obama would find out about locally owned eateries from his employees .Unlike other Presidents he would actually go to local eateries. One of the best sandwich shops I have been too and I have been all over the world. I hope they never change this winning formula.

I have been eating here for 20 years. I pass ten sub places on the way to Tastee but its worth my ten-mile drive. My family agrees. I went there once late at night and it was packed. Only thing - I disagree that the service is friendly. I have never been greeted and nobody there ever smiles. Thats my only complaint and Ive noticed for years and years. If theyre frazzled cuz they dont like the busy part of their job, then they shouldnt work at Tastee cuz the place is great and will be busy forever. Suck it up guys/gals and show us some kindness once in a while for keeping you in a job. :-) Love yas anyway!

If I could possibly give them (owner/gm) a zero I would!! I just called in reference to the Lincoln Elementary School there in Edison to see if they received my fax. The guy on the phone said he would check and in the mean time the gm/owner got on the phone and hung up on me. So I waited a couple minutes thinking it must have been a mistake and he again was very rude and told me that I was bothering them on their lunch hour. Sorry for being a customer and that even a phone call is too much for them to handle. Very rude and disrespectful and offensive to the school over the phone!!!

Believe it or not been going here since attending a nearby middle school in 1968 . Then moved to California in 1982. First thing I always do when in town is go there. In town now and value is as good as ever. Even Prez Obama has been there. A national chain named Jersey Mikes has arrived in Cali and they originated in Point Pleasant. They are good but Tastee is the BEST and not nearly as expensive. I played baseball as a kid with owner Carl Padovano. My kids love their food too when we visit. Miss you Tastee Sub Shop! Please be there on our next visit.

Very good sub place I usually get a turkey sub or the cheese sub you pay less if you pay in cash but thats because they add on the credit fee when paying with a card.Parking and seating is limited and you may have a hard time entering and exiting the parking lot due to the insane traffic on plainfield avenue during peak travel times.But its still worth the trip

Crowded for a good reason. The subs are what you expect from a deli. Remember the time you at that fantastic, fresh deli sub, nothing extra, nothing too crazy. That amazing taste is what tastee makes every time. Its literally the definition of a deli sub. Fantastic tasting, quick, and the crowd is great. Had a pleasant conversation with another patron.

Heard about this place from a co worker, decided to check the place out and deff did not regret it. Ridiculously large subs, for $9 I got the biggest turkey and swiss sub Ive ever had. Blows any subway or little sub shop out of the water! Sometimes its the little side of the road places that are the best. You HAVE to try this place at least once.

This place used to be good but I just went today. Its no better than your pizza place. Tomatoes were not great (and they are in season) and the portion was out and out small, not generous at all, Im not kidding. The bread was fresh, the sandwich wasnt even seasoned right. That saves me a ride. Very disappointing!

2 star just for the subs because theyre really good even though theyre made with a really bad nasty attitude people that work there have a disgusting attitude no manners whatsoever they dont greet you when you walk in they talk to you with that attitude when placing the order No thank you or anything not even a smile.
