Great ambiance, well decorated place with all antique pieces showcasing traditional Indian setting. But food quality is continuously deteriorating over last 2 years , so is customer service. On a Sunday, I have ordered a Malai Tikka over phone and went to collect it from the restaurant. The guy over the counter handed me over my order. I went home to find out to my surprise, its not Malai Tikka. Its not even chefs mistake. They had given me some chicken appetizer from their buffet spread (which is half cooked, cold and bland!!! ) . When I called the restaurant and explained this, they have apologized me, and requested me to come for Malai Tikka, when ever I can. I have gone there after a couple of weeks and explained to the guy over the counter that I was promised a free order of Malai Tikka (this time some elderly guy in Chefs outfit). He somewhat adamantly took my order and asked me to comeback after 45 min ( would he do the same if I had paid for the order ? ). When I went there, he gave me a small to-go box size of so called Malai Tikka, which only had 4 pieces and not at all tasty... Overall, it seems to me that they are not much interested in doing right customer service and food taste and quality needs to improve my many folds. Ambience dont attract customers. Now a days, if I want to go to an Indian restaurant, I am only going to Woburn or Acton in MA, which has some fine restaurants with awsome food for the same or sometimes less price.

My husband and I ate at this restaurant this evening. The service was lackluster, the presentation and the food were terrible. When the young man came to take our order, I requested a vodka martini. Apparently they only serve TWO kinds of martinis, one with mango and another fruity martini. Gak. Apparently no one knows how to make anything other than what is on their very short list of mixed drinks. I abstained. I ordered coconut soup and an appetizer order of coconut shrimp. We each ordered tea. When the food arrived, the dishes were placed on the edge of the table. There was a dinner plate and a salad plate in front of each of us. I believe I was expected to lean to the left to slurp my soup rather than have it placed in front of me. And, OMG, the coconut shrimp... I swear not one shred of coconut came within 10 feet of these pitifully small shrimp. The shrimp was limp, light brown, and hot. Oh yes, it was served on a longish rectangular plate with old, green and brown iceberg lettuce shreds underneath the shrimp. Neither of us received the tea we ordered. My husband was happy with what he ordered, but I must mention that when he was single, he used to microwave his hamburgers. Be smart and choose another Indian restaurant when the urge for tandoori chicken strikes you.

I have been here for weekend buffet a few times and it was OK. I just ordered takeout for dinner, on a Friday night. It was $50 for 3 entrees and 2 pieces of Garlic Naan. My wife had the Paneer Masala, and complained that the sauce was too salty, I noticed the same about the CTM in my non-veg Thali. To make things worse, the Goat Curry in the Thali consisted of 3 pieces of Goat, 2 of which were inedible pieces of bone, and the other a bit of bone with a bit of meat and gristle attached. As if the main course wasnt bad enough, the kheer that came with the Thali was clearly off. It clung to the lid of the container like some kind of primordial ooze when I opened it which was a bad sign, but when I tasted it, it was sour, as if the milk and whatever else was in it had gone bad. I have been to numerous other Indian restaurants in my days, and this is by far my worst experience at any of them. I regret to say this, as the wait staff were very friendly with my children when I had come here for the weekend buffet previously, and I have had decent food here in the past. I hope management takes the criticism in the reviews here seriously and makes changes.

I know some folks have had issues in the past, but as time has gone on the staff of India Palace has worked hard to improve. A few reviewers may not take into account that most of the staff is Napali. That means they adhere to different cultural standards and may not know they are being rude... because not everyone who comes to the US conforms immediately into the mish-mash of culture. During the weekend Buffets I am never disappointed in the variety of dishes provided. They come out hot, fresh and are quickly replenished. For the dinner hours the courses my husband and I order are paced nicely and we are always greeted with a "Hello" and a slight nod of the head, very respectful. The manager has even come to our table to see how we are enjoying the dinner and to ask how we are doing. Alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced. TAKE NOTE: The Palace Punch is NOT a weak drink! It will pack the punch promised and is super delicious, to boot! All in all, over the last 2 years eating here once to three times a month, the staff has improved leaps and bounds in their food and service.

Last night we went there for my husbands birthday! We have been there three times all together. You would think that we would learn our lesson the first time..... but, because we like the food we kept giving them the benefit of the doubt and they faithfully kept disappointing us. I mean royal screw ups. We got the wrong order, the wrong food. We ordered vegetable pakora and got some other appetizer!! My husband got his beer 20 mins later only because i finally had it and got up to ask for it. I ordered chicken curry and i got chicken Korma! To make matters worse they came to collect the check literally 30 seconds after dropping it off!!! Forget the other 2 times, this is only last night. Very, very rude. You go to a restaurant and you feel welcome and appreciated, not there. We all have bad days but three times in the row is a pattern of a ongoing problem. I guess its safe to say that we are never going back.

Went here with my girlfriend and a mutual friend. Our friend had never had Indian food, as always the food was fresh and delicious. We had the onion bhaji and the vegetable samosa as starters. Which is when we noticed we had no silverware. After waiting five minutes for the server I decided to get my own silverware. For the main we ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken makhani and I had the lamb vindaloo. All the dishes were very tasty, my lamb could have been a bit spicier but was still enjoyable. The employee at the counter then started harassed the waitress and she continually said "I don;t give a hell" to what ever the man was saying. Finally when we were ready to go I had get the check from the waitress who was sitting on the ground behind the counter listening to music. Great food horrible service, as side from when there was food coming to the table we were ignored.
