The Olive Garden has nothing on this local favorite. My husband and I frequent the Fitchburg Il Forno at least once a month and are never disappointed. We also love that it is BYOB, making it easy for us to splurge a bit on the meal without the bill getting too out of hand. Have you ever been on your way to an Italian restaurant, anticipating your favorite meal being set in front of you? The veal piccata. The spicy chicken scarperello. Lasagna? One of the three. And then you sit down, glance at the specials, and all of those preconcpeptions of what you thought you would be eating are thrown out the window. Lobster, steak AND pumpkin ravioli with a garlic cream sauce all on one plate? Grilled fish with fresh vegetables in any sauce I want on pasta or salad? Theyre irresistable, wonderful -- and filling. Il Forno Fitchburg never disappoints, and though we like to try as many local spots as we can, we find it hard to get away from here. If you want good food, and enjoy an authentic Italian restaurant atmosphere (loud friends a family together, hustle and bustle of waitstaff in tight places, etc.) Il Forno is the only stop you need to think about making. The menu is quite large with many Italian classics, but like I said - the specials are superb. But wait! Save room for dessert. Il Forno serves desserts from the Cheesecake factory. YUM.

After picking up an order that was called in, I realized that my salad wasnt what I thought it would be. Dont get me wrong, it looked delicious but was looking for something different. I called and spoke to a woman answering the phones and explained the situation I was in. She was extremely kind and advised for me to come down and get another salad. Before I left the restaurant, she double checked the bags to make sure they were right and sent me on my way. The salad was perfect and the service was second to none...

Went to Il forno for the first time ordered a taste of Italy Mediterranean pizza and order or mozerrella came to 38 we were looking forward to traditional Italian food the salad that came with it was three pieces of lettuce and one cucumber the pizza was under cooked the pasta was small portioned and did not taste good. The garlic bread was a smooched piece of sub roll with some butter and garlic put on it. The mozerrella sticks were good definitely not worth the money for what we ordered

Huge portions of tasty Italian dishes. Solid menu of traditional fare. Prices are a bit high, but you get a LOT. And its decent. Good flavor on everything I had: eggplant parm, strawberry/spinach salad, house salad, garlic bread, pasta fagioli. Its a BYOB. The decor is fine. Im not a fan of the entirely open seating. Its like a school cafeteria. Gets a little noisy at times. Service was on top of things. Id gladly go back!

Three of us were there for dinner. We never saw any food for two hours. Got seated at 6:15 and left at 9:15. I will never go back to the Fitchbirg location. The owner has opened other locations. I will follow him wherever he goes; his food is great, but will never go back to Fitchburg if hes not there.

Fitchburg Location Worst Caesar Salad I have ever TRIED to eat. Had three bites. Chicken: dry and tastless: croutons: extremely stale; lettuce: more compost than edible. Could not find enough parmesan cheese to even taste it. Friends had buffet. Had to ask for bleu cheese dressing for buffalo wings

It was the worst tasting lasagna and veal trio. EVER. Meat tasted like ground dog food. I ate there 20 times before was always at least OK. This Time the worst and most expensive. The garlic bread tasted like it was 4 days old and the sauce and meat smelled terrible....Disappointed wasted money...

The food is very good at this location. Since theyve remodeled the interior the atmosphere and mood has been changed for the better. It feels more cozy and comfortable. The choice of color really brings out a classic authentic look. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgable. Its also BYOB.

This is a good restaurant for affordable Italian fare. The food is tasty and the wait is usually brief. It is certainly family friendly. I dont love the decor or the atmosphere as it is primarily one sparse, large room. However I would still recommend it for an evening out.

Great pizza especially after you reheat it the next day in your toaster oven. I also like their cheesecake. Sometimes the place is a little crazy and they dont get you your food on time or they might forget to get you your order which has happened to me twice.

Some weeks are better then others with this place. Some nights they have great food but tonight it was not good. Sub was not made the way it was ordered. Fries were wet and soggy from sitting. I may not be returning anytime soon.

Great food, great atmosphere great service at a affordable price. My girlfriend says you have the best chicken Piscataway anywhere and Im a big fan of the chicken parmigiano, and theres always plenty to take home.

Phenomenal Italian. The garlic bread is out of this world. And thats how you start the meal? Not even fair. Il Forno is how against I measure all Italian. And an hour outside the North End? Not even fair.

I do not understand why people continue to recommend such a disgusting restaurant. I have eaten here twice - and everything I have tried has been gross. Trust me - stay away!

Our family and friends have eaten here since the restaurant opened. Always enjoyable. The owner, Mike, makes it a point to greet you and thank you for choosing his restaurant.

One of our favorites. We usually get the Chicken with mushroom and artichokes. Never a bad meal here and the homemade creamy italian dressing is the best.
