Large group of college kids? Check. Family with young children and very particular parents? Yep. Table for two in the midst of chaos? Handled. Visited Glen Junction two weekends ago, on the Saturday of Independence Day weekend. They were overflowing with people waiting to get in, and moving everyone very steadily. Those waiting had the option of heading upstairs to an overflow room with toys and games for the kids, and chairs for many of the adults (could have used some fans or air conditioning up there). Meanwhile, dozens of tables were absolutely full between the two dining rooms downstairs When we were given our table, our waitress was extremely pleasant and completely professional, just like everyone else around her (including the server who had a father ask to change his young sons order as the rest of the familys food was about to come out from the kitchen). The food is always delicious at Glen Junction, and served very quickly. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are large. The service is fabulous. And the "Train Fries" -- small pieces of potatoes that are coated with a combination of savory and sweet spices that are a secret to everyone except the owner and a few staffers -- are definitely worth getting again and again. Addictively delicious! I returned a few days later to buy a gift certificate for my mother, who lives out of state. Not knowing when she will be traveling to the White Mountains next is a concern, but the woman who took care of the gift certificate said GJ does not put expiration dates on their gift certificates. Thats another great plus in my book.

Were seated first, two tables came in after. Wait person told us they were finishing start up, cooks were not in yet, would get us drinks shortly. Wait staff went to two table that were seated after us, started taking drink and food orders. Came by our table and told us our wait person hadnt come in yet and when she did she would wait on us. About 10 minutes later she came in and waited on us. When the food came she put it on the table and said you are all set and turned to leave. We told her, wait a minutes, where are the side orders of bacon and we want more coffee and water. When she brought the rest of the order I sent my bacon back and told her to take it off the bill, it was raw, not even half cooked. Train fries were so loaded with salt I could not eat them. I ordered english on the grill with butter to go with eggs, etc. It was toasted and no butter. Eggs were half cooked when I got into them. Wait person never came back to check and see if we wanted more coffee, just brought the bill. Eggs were not fully cooked, all runny inside. She never took the bacon off the bill, never apologized for anything. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT EAT HERE

Gave this place a try this trip, as a deviation from our area favorite up the road a piece: Yesterdays Service was good, food was average. Pricing was a little on the steep side (its breakfast, so a matter of a few dollars realistically) I did really like my eggs though as they were very fluffy with a buttery flavor. On the other side of the coin, my wife hated the eggs feeling that they were greasy. Their hash was some of the better Ive had, as someone who is not generally a fan of hash. Reminded me of my Dads, who grew up in the southwest and worked in breakfast restaurants as a child. Might be the perfect place if you have kids, crayons on the table and electric trains circling the dining room (which in my opinion isnt as nifty so much as its a noise maker) Not bad by any means, but certainly better options in the area.... for breakfast at least.

Terrible food. We arrived for lunch and ordered for a party of 3: clam chowder, chicken and rice soup, a BLT, a grilled chicken sandwich, and a buffalo chicken sandwich. The chowder came out cold. Returned it and they heated it up. Came back hot but the potatoes in the chowder were raw. The grilled chicken sandwich was brown inside and had a rubbery texture. The chicken was not fresh and tasted like it had gone bad a few days ago. The buffalo chicken sandwich featured a frozen chicken patty that tasted like the chicken sat in the freezer for a very long time and had frost. We returned our meals and left not having eaten lunch. Decided that it would be better to go back to our hotel and have left over pizza. Dont waste your time and money here.

Inviting little railroad-themed diner, right around the corner from Story Land. Great service, simple fare done right. Very friendly, and incredibly family friendly. Our girls loved their chocolate chip pancakes, the french toast was very tasty, and the coffee was probably better than any diner coffee Ive ever had. Would recommend and go back again if in the neighborhood and in need of a hearty breakfast. In addition to the to the restaurant, there is a play room and arcade upstairs you can retreat to with your kids if youre waiting for a table. The upside: many great vintage arcade cabinets. The downside: theyre mostly broken down, which was a bit of a bummer. Probably from all the attention theyve gotten from bored kids over the years.

As a family man spending many years in the White Mountain Valley area, Ive come to appreciate Glen Junction...theyre consistent with quality fresh food, cleanliness and somehow they always seem to remember me each year...the kids have fun watching the trains run around the track and I like to relax and stock up on some carbs for the trek up to Tuckermans ravine...Its hard to remember a time that I havent stopped in unless its too late as they are open for breakfast and lunch only...I would recommend Glen Junction to all that want a clean, fun place to go with the family to enjoy great food just minutes from a multitude of the fun, outdoor activities the "valley" has to offer.

What I like best about Glen Junction is that you can get breakfast any time of day. My favorite breakfast is eggs benedict, I was thrilled to see that they have 4 different kinds of eggs benedicts on their menu. My partner got the pancakes and let me try a bite, they were delicious, thin and crispy on the edges, with a choice of real maple syrup too. Its a great place to stop in and have a hearty breakfast before going on a day hike in the Mt. Washington Valley.

couldnt be more pleased... First off i ordered steak n eggs omelet thinking afterwards it was probably guna be shaved steak in eggs. But 5 minutes later food was served! No shaved steak here... Instead marinated steak tips and not one ounce of fat. Great portions, attentive staff, perfect for the little ones(train over head while eating or waiting for food). I would highly recommend this place to any one in the area.

Flys by the dozens, other patrons werent too happy. Reckon 2 stars too many, big place to clean, must be too big to keep flys out with doors opening and closing, my lady friend. And i have come here for years, not anymore, we will be visiting down town, , shame to give reviews like this, oh! You be the judge, me I like clean safe places, perhaps a revisit after the winter freeze,
