I recently moved here from Raleigh,NC. Where you can buy Carolina BBQ like you can find tacos in Mexico! As a matter of fact almost every back yard party has a pig cooker. When you get invited to a party they say "hey yall come on over - we are having a pig pickin this weekend! Imagine my excitement when I find this restaurant called Carolina Kitchen! Holy cow I gotta go! I ordered a BBQ sandwich with Slaw and Hush Puppies. Sweet Tea to drink of course. The pork was stringy and hard to chew. The Hush Puppies were previously frozen and cooked in the fry vat. SACRILEGE! Hush puppies are alway made fresh from corn meal. The sweet tea was WAAY to sweet. If yall want to know how to make authentic Carolina BBQ I will be happy to come show you! No charge.

We stopped here on our way from Denver. Saw the trip advisor review and figured we would try. We had 6 people to feed and ordered the chicken, ribs, hot links, pulled pork and beef brisket. Side of collard greens, cole slaw, baked beans, curly fries and hush puppies with peach cobbler for dessert. The ribs were good on the dry side and the chicken was well prepared. The sides were fresh but the links, pulled pork and brisket were really dry. The meal came with a bottle of their bbq sauce which just tasted like vinegar. The cobbler was under cooked very doughy. Dont think we will go back

Carolina has the best Southern barbeque in the Reno/Sparks area. Its not just the tasty meats that make my mouth water thinking about the place, but they have their share of award-winning recipes. The reason it stands out against all of the other barbeque joints in town are the truly wonderful side dishes served with their platters. Mac & cheese, baked beans, sweet potato fries, hushpuppies, red beans & rice, and my two favorites: black-eyed peas and collard greens. Dont forget to ask for the pepper sauce! And, yes, they do serve sweet tea!

There are prettier BBQ restaurants. There are specialists in certain BBQ items that are more amazing perhaps. But Carolina is just reliably great, time after time. You can tell by their clientele- no suits, no man buns, way more safety vests than skirts (and thats just with the ladies). Todays brisket was tender and succulent, with one side of it cooked that delicious burnt-end black. Juicy chicken. Great curly fries- not easy to find in Reno. RC Cola! I need to go back soon too, for the peach cobbler and the fried green beans.

Decent BBQ place but would not go out of my way to come here again. Sauces were decent but kind of watery, maybe thats just the Carolina style. Had the brisket & pulled pork. Brisket was chopped, not sliced and a little Fri even with a liberal dousing of sauce. Pulled pork was tasty. For sides I got the red beans & rice and mac & cheese, both of which were bland and nothing special.

This is the real tomato-based BBQ of the South. NOT the vinegar-based BBQ of the East Coast. The trimmings are also very Southern --- and delecious. Its more serve-yourself than anything else, but that doesnt detract from the Southern feel, it enhances my memories of similar places throughout the South.

Some of the best BBQ Ive ever had in my life. Better than actual BBQ from the Carolinas. The only pulled pork Ive had where the smoke is prominnent and is extremely juicy. The smoked sausages are stupid good! If youre looking for authentic BBQ... GO TO CARLONIA KICTHEN!!!!

I highly recommend this place. I eat here at least once a month. The ribs and pork sandwiches are great and the all-you-can-eat fish fry on Fridays cant be beat. Dont be put off from the location or its outward appearance. THIS PLACE IS GREAT!

Their slogan is 100% on. "Put some South in your Mouth!" Great BBQ! The added bonus for me is a bar that is separated from the restaurant. Great food, Great atmosphere, and wonderful staff, I will become a regular!
