Just moved to Reno. Went to China East because they had vegetarian options. I ordered the eggplant stir fry. Waiters were friendly and wanted to be helpful but had no knowledge about the ingredients in their vegetarian dishes. I was so excited about this meal. Unfortunately, it was a HUGE dissapointment and extremely overpriced. They gave me mostly bell peppers than eggplants for a dish thats suppose to be solely eggplants. They charged me almost $11 dollars just for it which didnt include white rice. Ive never heard or been to any Asian restaurants who didnt serve white rice with stir fry. And I travel for a living. Thus, been to thousands of Chinese restaurants. They of course charged me $1.50 for small white rice. To sum up my experience, the food was below average and overly priced. Gave more bell peppers for a dish called eggplants. Going to China East was a HUGE waste of time and money. WILL NEVER RETURN TO CHINA EAST. A TOTAL RIP OFF. WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STAR!!! THEY SUCK AT VEGETARIAN DISHES!!!!

Bad experience! I was looking for Chinese food to celebrate my first day after final. From Googles positive comments I decided to give a try. I ordered some special daily dish on the menu but they found an excuse to reject me ,I be told that was not good. I was recommended a beef by their employee, I guess who own the restaurant, the beef is "rubber"! I asked change, he said maybe I like soft meat... well this time, his suggestion is mussel, he said it will be as same price as the beef, I gave my trust again and didnt bother check the menu, actually its much expensive. I dont want argue then "paid" my lesson. The "expensive mussels" with some onions are softer than "rubber," thats all I can say. Well, as a musician and a customer who be "forced" to listen some sort of fade music that made their blank and old atmosphere even worse, I keep asking myself, is this a joke! One thing for sure I will never back there again, price has paid!

I have been going to this restaurant for years and it used to be my favorite place for Chinese food. But it has changed hands a few times and the food is not what it used to be. The dining room is ALWAYS dirty with food on the windows and blinds. There are fake flowers on the tables that are old and dusty (they were there when the place opened)! The last few times I went, there was food stuck to my silverware and the glasses were either badly water spotted or just plan dirty. If youre looking for China East the way it used to be, try the Dynasty.

As far as my family and I are concerned, the best casual Chinese food in Reno. Ive been going regularly for almost 20 years and the food is consistently great. Great lunch specials until about 3, includes soup and egg rolls. Fantastic Hot n Sour soup and Schezhuan Chicken. Special shout out to my favorite server in Reno- Evan. Ive had many great servers there but hes just the best- great memory, funny and fantastic service. A place that locals go for wonderful, affordable food.

Ended up paying $17 for ginger beef, take out, when was thoroughly disappointed by a of the ginger being at the top and not mixed in, creating an overwhelming flavour. Some of the ingredients were not properly cut, and there was very little beef. $5 for egg rolls that were mostly cabbage. A dollar fifty for rice. They did not even supply eating utensils. All around, very disappointing.

Oh goodness where to start. They were friendly on the phone and friendly upon delivery. The food arrived freshly hot and was wonderful to enjoy. There was plenty. I had the curry shrimp with beef fried rice. I dare say that if I were to get a need for a simple lunch, the beef fried rice will do magnificently. I will be sharing this experience for all and beg them to try it themselves!

The worst chinese food I have had in reno. Over priced for proportion sizes. Soup had no flavor, shrimp fried rice the four shrimp were good the rice was bland. tofu vegtables suace was runny tofu was soggy, seseeme beef was good but over cooked, generals chicken tasted like sweet and sour with a little spice, I would not waste you money if I were you.

Way over priced. The food tastes so so but is more expensive than other Chinese food in town even after 10% discount. They try to sell you every side but never mention the price, yet the price is outrageous, such as an ice-cream for $3, which is often free in other Chinese restaurants. They charge $1.75 for a rice. Will never be back.

The place looks a little run down bit dont let that fool you. The food and service here is wonderful. Im always greeted and served promptly, with a smile. I grew up in NY near Chinatown so Im picky with my Chinese food and Ive tried it all in Reno, this place is in my top 3. Still not Chinatown worthy but great for Reno.

The crappiest service. Waiter leaves in the middle of telling order and doesnt pay attention to refills on drinks. Ordered 2 meals with 2 appitizers and the bill was 40.00 rediculous! Seame chicken looks like fried chicken skin. Oh and rice doesnt come with meal. Bathrooms are discusting too!

Is important for you to know this place has the worst chinesse food in town. The food was cold and it has this terrible taste like old food. Dont waste your money in this place. I think this place is still alive because is in a great location, thats all.

This is our favorite Chinese place in Reno. Its not pretentious, but is good food, always hot, and you leave very full. There are some quite exotic items on the menu, too, but am not quite ready to try some of them. Nice folks.

Sometimes the food is great and sometimes not. Very expensive for the equivalent of half order to go. Depressing, Rice is always Extra. Owner is nice also some of the employees.

The food here is excellent and so is the value. Usually the wait staff is friendly, but on my last visit we had a very rude server. Will still return for the great food!

I loved this restaurant! I ordered the lemon chicken and it was tender, lightly breaded, and the sauce was perfect. The price was unbeatable as well.
