Start Loving
Everyones intentions are good here. Most widely cited passage in the Bible is from Corinthians, without love it is nothing. It is a nice clean attractive facility. The food was tasty although the portions too small. I was born to wealth and for many years have lived homeless to free my life to fight for the neediest. I have some background in all this. I found myself wondering who was this really for? Was it for the huge needy and displaced by gentrification population of Bozeman? Yes, somewhat. But it seemed more for the wealthy including the students to feel good about themselves although that was not their intent. This is not a bad facility but if efforts stop here rather than start here it is a bad thing. The needy of Bozeman do not need a hospice. They need their more fortunate sisters and brothers to aggressively create life opportunities for growth. And to self sustain.

I spent the summer of 16 volunteering Im Bozeman and living off of pennies. Community Cafe prepares delicious, nutritious meals for everyone, regardless of the contents of your bank account. I would donate $5 when I could, and other nights I would eat for free. The cafe is staffed by volunteers, often from local organizations. The volunteers are always warm and compassionate and care about the service they are providing. God bless the Community Cafe. Please donate if you can.

The only pay-what-you-can diner in Montana! You can eat all you want, and also help with this non-profit to provide dinner for those in need 365 days a year. This is not a soup kitchen, since a 5 dollar collaboration is suggested, but those low on money will never be rejected. They always have a hearty soup, usually gluten free, along with a main dish and dessert, that would leave you happy and wanting to come back with friends.

Eat here! No, this is not a regular restaurant. No menus, no wine list. But it is good food, filling a community need. For those who cant afford a good meal, this is an option for a good meal, free of charge. For those who can afford it, pay $5 and help keep it going for those who cant.

The only pay what you can restaurant in town. You have to appreciate and respect their mission. They provide warm meals to lots of people and they deserve your support. Once a month they bring in a guest chef whose meals are very popular. Get there early on those nights.
