This was by far, the absolute worst restaurant experience Ive ever had (if I could give negative stars, this would be the time for them). We walk in tonight and with a whole 5 tables in the entire restaurant, the hostess (who never smiled once) asks us if we have a reservation. We say no, she scoffs at us...looks around and sighs. She takes us to a table and tells us that there will be a wait for a waitress. We ask for clarification and she says they are short staffed (theres three waitresses). Hostesses are supposed to be pleasant and friendly, not rude and act put out by doing their job. We sat down and watched waitress after waitress walk by without even saying hi, or someone will be with you in a minute, or heres some water...nothing. If we would not be using a Groupon, we wouldve left. 17 minutes later, our waitress arrives, we order water to start and our food. Literally 2 minutes later, another waitress shows up with what we order. I ordered the salad, fries, and chicken, however, they put everything on one small plate, so 90% of my fries were soaked in the sauce put on the chicken and the lettuce was drenched in it too. My husband had the shrimp with pasta and vegetables, which the only "vegetable" that was in it were a ton of mushrooms and a few tiny pieces of pepper. To me, that should have been included on the menu. I wouldve liked to have a glass of wine with our meal, but there was no one around us. We watched another nearby table (with a different waitress) get served multiple times, the manager filled up several other tables with water...but ours was MIA. We sat with empty water glasses from the moment we got our food since the water glasses were so small, but never once got a refill. Finally, we asked the other waitress to please bring our check (no one ever came to make sure our food was even correct or okay). The was another table that also had to get up and ask the waitress to order (which did make us feel a little better that it wasnt just us). When the waitress finally came, she rolled her eyes when we had the groupon out. She again came with excuses of how there was ONLY three waitresses and the bus boy left early (three waitresses, a bartender, and a manager was MORE than sufficient to help the amount of people there). The other waitress (who I asked for the check) came with our check while she was giving us the excuse, she took our check and the hostess came back with my card and threw it on the table. Ive been to a lot of restaurants and have NEVER in my life felt like I did this evening. I wouldnt go back here if someone paid me too.

Saturday, March 11, 2017 - Worst dining experience Ive had in 20 years. We had a large table of 8 people, one of which was the owner of a very well know winery in Napa Valley. It was supposed to be a great dining experience. We brought some fabulous French wines ($20 corkage fee) and ordered food. The food came out and was so salty it was uneatable. Our server, Nicole, was apologetic and took 2 meals back to replace. These came back and were still extremely salty. Another one of our group had the steak and had to send it back. It took so long to get it they decided to box it up. We tried to speak to the owner, but he wasnt working that night. This was strange for a Saturday night! We then asked for the manager and Sally came out. We found out that she was the reservation person. They didnt even have a manager on duty. Again, this was on a Saturday night with 6:30 reservations! Sally didnt have the authority do do anything for our very bad experience. She ended up waiving one corkage fee and taking off one chicken dinner. We asked for the owners name and managers name and it literally took 15 minutes for her to bring these names back to us. No phone numbers, just names. We then asked Nicole for 3 bills, one for 5 of the meals, one for a couple and a final single. Nicole brought the 3 bills back and they were all wrong. She went back and re-did these, but put all corkage fees on one bill. Not wanting to wait another 15 minutes, decided not to ask for another re-do of the bills! However, we then waited for her to come back to pick up our checks and payment. We waited 20 minutes until I finally tracked her down and told her she had some upset people waiting to pay and leave. We finally got our bills, paid and left. We wont ever go back. It was a terrible experience. The night before, wed eaten at Tatsus and had one of the best meals weve ever eaten. This place is really bad.

I used to love Aixois. I am a foodie; a married woman and a career woman. My husband and I used to visit Aixois for romantic dinners. We moved from KC, but return every 4th week for our work. The last 4 times we have visited Aixois and walked away not only disappointed but irritated. Our last visit & final visit was for lunch last Friday. Our waitress was over the top rude. Not to mentions, she over charged us for an additional salad, which we would have let it go if she didnt have such a nasty attitude. She kept us waiting for our bill for over 30 minutes (the restaurant was quiet as we ate at 1:20). I had to find her and tell her we really needed to get going. She basically blew me off and kept us waiting 10 more minutes. She was literally the worst waitress we have had in a fine dining restaurant. She was extremely hostile to us both and we found ourselves asking "did she just do that?". She clearly hates her job; a liability to Aixois. Additionally, the food was below par. This has been the case for dinner and lunch now. . It was simply put: a bad experience that left us stressed. Aixois used to be such a delight. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. There are a few other fine dining options in KC and we will now give them our business. It makes us sad b/c Aixois is so lovely in its setting, but unfortunately not in its service or food. I write this review saddened. Yes, I understand the owners have worked hard, and in the past years that reflected in every aspect of this restaurant. Now, only the prices remain (which we would happily pay with the returned quality food and service). As for our waitress, my husband insisted on giving her our normal 20% tip in a show of class. I seriously considered asking for the manager. Oh, yes...She also over charged us and admitted it and promised to adjust the bill, but did not...oh well.

The special was Mexican Night at our French Bistro, this was the first sign that perhaps we had landed in the wrong place for our preferred dining experience. My $24 Salmon was a 4oz frozen salmon portion ordered Medium Rare and was delivered Medium Well with Israeli cous cous (insert confusion). Same was true for another person in our dinner party, their filet was a bad cut and over cooked. Upon the replacement of the Salmon it was cooked rare, which by me at that point was perfectly acceptable. The Smoked Salmon Salad was especially nice in presentation and taste as were the other salads we ordered. The cheese place was a delicious assortment of soft cheeses. As far as the entrees that we ordered I would ONLY recommend the trout, it was delicious. The Crème brûlée was also very decent. Service from the waitress was poor. She kept another table next to us waiting 10 min before even offering to take a drink. About the overcooked/overpriced Salmon, I had to approach the "Manager on Duty" and interrupt her personal call as she wondered around the front of the host stand on her cell phone to notify her because the waitress never came back to check on our food after delivering it. The buser was very attentive and kept bread and butter on the table waters filled at all times, and plates pre-bussed accordingly. He was the only excellence in the place. The environment is dark and very loud. Even with the handful of the tables that were in the restaurant. If it is a nice day I would suggest sitting outside, or just ordering a coffee to go. This restaurant has its positive attributes which do not out weigh its faults. I do not recommend it.
