The service was terrible. There seems to be a lot of regulations at this restaurant. My friend wanted to share a meal with her husband and they said that was not allowed and that she had to order her own meal. We had 4 adults and 2 children with us in our party and they gave us a small square table for 4 people and put the 2 high chairs in the corners of the table. The lady seating us was so rude to me the minute we got in there and I was in shock when i asked her if she was the manager she proudly claimed she was the owner. I have never seen a restaurant where the owner is so rude to their customers. And of course the waiters and other workers there will be only as good as their leader because throughout the entire night the rest of the waitors were also very impatient and rude with us. I asked if we could have a larger table for more space because the children wouldnt be able to eat on the corners of the table, the owner proceeded to tell me it was my fault because our reservation had gone from 8 people to 6 people. This didnt make sense at all to me because our table was only big enough for 4 people. She proceeded to tell me they get babies in the restaurant and high chairs in there all the time. So i asked her if they usually seat babies in the corners of the table. She then turned and walked away from me without responding. I thought a restaurant who had such great reviews would know better than to treat their customers this way. Maybe they would be better off if they let the manager do the managing and the owner who is obviously oblivious to what manners and etiquette is just sit on the sidelines. The food was also mediocre compared to all the reviews I read. All in all dissapointed and will not ever be going back.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I came to St. Martins with a fear of the unknown and left with a deep sense of satisfaction and joy. I wanted to celebrate my wifes birthday in a french restaurant and among all the choices I saw (French room, old warsaw etc), St. Martins was the most value for the buck. They are charging $70 a couple which includes a free bottle of wine. At that time I thought the food will be ok as the price is so competitive but I was so wrong. We ordered snails and crab cakes for appetizers, steak and stuffed pork for main course and flour-less chocolate cake and white chocolate cheese cake along with a bottle of red pinot noir. The food was exquisite filled with flavor....I was in complete bliss. To make things better, John the manager of the place was so helpful in managing my change of reservations, our server Marcello was very cordial and brought the cake with a candle in it ( I had requested this a week before and honestly thought the restaurant would forget it but they did not), the music guy sang Happy Bday for my wife in a joyful mood, the valet works on tips and does not rip you off with a fixed charge, the decor of the restaurant is soft and romantic.......everything was just perfect. I used to think that big restaurants like these would be uptight and would not care less for customers that are not regular but St. Martins is no place like that, they were very friendly and made us feel special. St. Martins have a Sunday brunch too, I am surely going to try it out...after all it has now become one of my fav places. Thank you St. Martins for making my evening on Sept 25 09. Thanks & Regards Sunny

We stumbled into this restaurant almost by accident while on a business trip a few months ago and now consider it one of the best finds of our entire lives. Seriously. From the first moment we were seated within its lovely ambience, we could tell it was a relaxed, comfortable place dedicated to superb customer service and upscale fine cuisine. The wines are excellent (dont be afraid to order by the glass -- the wait staff are very helpful and will recommend something marvelous but within your budget for each course if you choose). The food is absolutely tremendous: stellar fish and meat dishes with starches and fresh vegetables, hauntingly good pate and cheese courses, a meltingly delicious champagne brie soup, and several tantalizing French desserts. Not just for dinner: the Sunday brunch is out of this world. The stunning quality of the food is exceeded only by the world-class service: extremely knowledgeable and professional, while also friendly, welcoming, unofficious, and totally accommodating. Cant be beat. This restaurant is now a prized destination for us. We live several states away and have already made one trip back to Dallas, just for dinner and brunch the next day at St. Martins Bistro. All our previous favorites have now been superseded. Theres no place on earth wed rather go for an exquisite meal. If you live in Dallas, you owe it to yourself to eat here as soon as possible; if youre from out of town, this place alone can make all of your effort to get to Dallas worthwhile.

Enjoyed a wonderful date night at Saint Martins last night. It was our first visit to this cozy restaurant. We used the valet parking. We were a few minutes early for our reservation but were seated with no waiting. The service was great. Our server Dee Dee was attentive and helpful, checking on us from time to time but not hovering. My husband ordered the salmon appetizer and I had the champagne Brie soup. His appetizer was delicious and could have served as a light supper. My soup was fabulously creamy and rich. I followed the soup with the Coquille St. Jacques entree. The scallops were tender and nicely seared. A very tasteful combination of spinach and roasted bell pepper was nicely complemented by the flavorful cous cous. My husband had one of the menu specials, Bouef a la Richard, a combination steak, scallop, shrimp dish with roasted potatoes. It was a meal he raved about. There was not a morsel left on either of our plates. The serving sizes were right on target big enough for us to be full but not over stuffed or walking out with leftovers to be ruined by the microwave the next day.

St. Martins was a great bargin during DFWs annual Restaurant Week event. The staff was very friendly, the food was fantastic, and I believe the special Restaurant Week menu truly represented the typical experience at the bistro. The various courses were expertly crafted and the food was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I had shrimp, crab cakes, steak, and desert. None disappointed, but the steak, ordered medium-rare, was definitely the standout. I would have been impressed with the succulent steak alone, but it was adorned with a mushroom cream sauce that elevated the dish even higher. The chocolate terrine dessert was very memorable, as well. Our server surprised my table with a sampling of one of the bistros new dessert wines. The restaurant had great atmosphere and live music. If I need to celebrate a special occasion, St. Martins Bistro will be one of my top choices.

The ambience and the live piano music is definitely good of course, as is the service. But what got me to write this review is the following. Due to certain diet restrictions I currently have, I cannot eat ANY sort of animal protein, which pretty much made their entire menu out of bounds for me. I asked them to fix me an entrée with sautéed veggies, roasted potatoes and a serving of risotto (I basically picked and chose sides from across their menu). Oh. My. Gawd. The plate that came out was outstandingly delicious. And they didnt even charge me extra for it! It is evening as I write this review, and I still cant stop remembering my brunch! I told them they should put the dish on their menu, and Im telling you, dear review reader, if you are a vegetarian, by all means, try it!
