Ill echo most of what the reviews below me have said. The food is good, service is spotty. Ive been to this restaurant probably 15 times, I think its really good Mexican food for the area. I grew up in Chicago, so Ive had my fair share of authentic Mexican food, and so far, this place as been one of my regulars to get Mexican at in Fenton. They have very good chips and salsa, that alone I come back for. Ive enjoyed their steak items and enchiladas and souprs. One thing I will comment on is I would avoid any items that are topped with a "cheese sauce". This cheese sauce seems to be common around mexican restaurants in the area and I find it to be absolutely disgusting. The service has been anywhere from fair to poor every time I go. A lot of times theyve messed up our orders, or are just slow, or arent very attentive. The last time we went, they brought my girlfriend the wrong flavor of margarita, she thought something didnt taste right with her banana margarita but couldnt quite figure it out, so later our waitress comes back and says; "sorry about the margarita, its coconut". My girlfriend just said oh its fine... thinking she would be brought the right margarita next, nope she never did. And we were charged full price. I thought that was a rather poor way to treat the customer.

I sat down at a dirty table and waited 5 minutes for a menu. The $1.90 I spent for my first and only soft drink, seemed steep. No one ever asked if I wanted another. After ordering and staring at my empty glass for 10 -15 minutes, my food was unceremoniously slung in front of me as the waitress zoomed by, not allowing for any request for a refill on my beverage. My two lunch flautas sat in a pool of cooking oil. The first bite of each netted nearly as much oil as meat. When my meal was complete, I spied my waitress and flagged her down for a soft drink refill. After 10 additional minutes without a refill I went to the register and paid my check. When asked how my lunch was, I replied that I could not seem to get anyone to refill my glaass. The cashier replied "Oh." and slid my change toward me. Mediocre food with unsatisfactory service. I think I will find somewhere else for mexican cuisine.

Was just at cinco demyo this 5 May 2014. While I understand that it was very crowded, there is NO EXCUSE for messing up our order and having to wait for over an hour to get two beef tostados to correct the bean that we did not order. We did settle for the other screwed up order but I am writing this because the owner upon check out, told me they had only 3 cooks and that the crowds were overwhelming. I told him that I could make two beef tostados in less than 5 minutes. Just put a shell down, add ground beef, add the other ingredients, lettuce, cheese, guacamole, and sour crème. He was such a grab, he kept insisting that it as not his problem due to the crowds. I was a pretty steady client of the establishment, but will not go to Three Margaritas where they are professional and get orders right!

My fiancé and I had bought a groupon to use here and were excited to try it out! We were seated in a timely manner and the food and wait time was great! But when we went to pay the bill the hostess explained we couldnt use the Groupon on their Taco special and that we would be charged the normal price for them, even though our Groupon amount did not even cover the tacos (we knew this upon ordering). She then proceeded to change the ticket price. On top of this, she was not accommodating at all and had a poor attitude. Up until this point we planned on returning! But after this we wont be back. Its sad a business would put a Groupon out to try and earn more business, but then treat their customers poorly when trying to use them!

It started off rough but ended well. We were seated next to a large group and there was miscommunication amongst the wait staff so I had to go request to have a waiter take our order. At first they tried to say we had a waiter who had been at our table but then eventually acknowleded we were missed and sent someone over. They said they thought we were part of the big group. Once we had a waiter service was fine. Food was good with solid kid options and was quick considering how crowded it was (it was a Saturday at 5:30). If I didnt have to ask for service and wasnt initially brushed aside when I asked for a waiter this would have been 5 stars.

Bought a Groupon and as soon as we got our food we regretted it. Rice and beans were below room temperature. Our bill ended up being under the cost we needed to spend...so we ordered fried ice cream. Whoa was that a bad choice. Not fried...the crispy part was corn flakes that were poured on the top. Also, the ice cream was freezer burned. Im talking chunks of ice in the "ice cream". Also, we ordered coffee that our waiter said was fresh. When we got it, my mom asked how old it was and he said "we brewed it this morning" ...it is 8:50 pm. My coffee cup had a hard piece of a leaf on the side. Pray for us that we dont get sick tonight and beware.

Do NOT patronize this establishment. The staff is condescending, dismissive & rude. The food is offensively bland, if you even get the food you ordered to make it to your plate. There are too many hard working, caring restaurant owners out there who deserve your business. Im not one to take to review forums to complain, the restaurant should ALWAYS be given a chance to redeem a service error, in the case of Azteca they refused the chance to right a wrong with our table with a shoulder shrug and an attitude of if you dont like it, theres the door. Shameful.

What are you talking about , the cheese that they put over the the food is one of many things at this Restaurant that I love . When I went there to eat . The owner of the restaurant seated us ...... You know what that tells me ? This guy cares a lot about what is going on with the restaurant . You dont get a lot of owners of companys that are physically involved like he is . For some of you that do not know... When the owner is not involved with there business ....The service turns to crap...

If you went to El Nopal in Fenton and were sad to see it go, you are in luck! Same great people have reopened across the street in Western Plaza with a much more refreshing look, and the same great food! Ive been there several times for lunch and enjoy the Lunch Chimichanga. Excellent quality! They have a lunch deal...eat 5 lunches, get 6th free. Place is beautiful and clean inside, and much larger place than before too. I really like the new Azteca restaurant and am sure you will too!

I had two seperate people I know that raved about the food at this place so my sister and I decided to try it out. True, the food really was good, however the waitress was not! She did not make herself available to requests or refills... she just wasnt there. We had to keep asking a waiter that was there for help. Finally we looked over and saw HER EATING dinner at the bar! No wonder she wasnt available for us! I will probably be back, but I will ask for one of the guys.
