Oh my GOD! This place was such a happy accident! We were on our way to Taj Palace when we realized they closed at 2:15pm. We werent able to make it so I searched other similar places near by and found this little flower. Let me just start with the worst...we were seated immediately and the waiter didnt ask what we wanted to drink. Lol. That is the worst thing. After about 8 minutes of going over the menu which is EXTREMELY REASONABLE with prices she came over and asked us if we were ready to order. We went ahead and orded our drinks at the same time as our food and it was no biggy. Not to mention she never wrote anything down and managed to remember everything perfectly. My boyfriend asked for water and she brought one for me as well, even though I didnt ask. THE FOOD WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! I grew up near the Oregon Coast and fresh seafood is not something I have been impressed with in the midwest...but thats obvious lol. Not really the midwests fault. Anyway, this place knows what they are doing. I ordered the Tom Yum soup and it rocked! Please pay them a visit and enjoy! Such a blessing to our community!

This place has horrible service lately. I have been going to this restaurant for years and really liked their food and service but not so much after today. It seems like recently they have changed their serving staff and the new people are simply rude and unprofessional. Today even after waiting for more than 30 minutes during lunch hour, the server wouldnt bring our food and kept bringing food to customers who arrived later than us! When asked about the delay they kept dodging our request and not once did they apologize or explain the delay. Finally we gave up and had to leave. We ended up eating lunch at the next door Fiesta Mexican restaurant. I really used to like Sawadees food but the two women running their lunch hour service are some of the worst waitresses I have encountered in my life. Simply rude and stand-offish. Good luck keeping customers bcoz my friends and I are NEVER going back to this place and will make sure to let other people know about their bad service and attitude. If I could give a ZERO then I would give that instead of ONE star.

My favorite Thai restaurant and possibly my favorite restaurant period. I havent had a dish there that I didnt like, but my go-to dish is always Spicy Basil Beef. The Tom-yum soup is awesome too! Ive eaten several times at two other Thai restaurants in the area, Addies and Manee Thai. I DO NOT care for them at all compared to Thai Sawadee. Thai Sawadee is probably a bit more expensive and I know at least one of the other places gives choices of soup or salad with the meal, so they may be slightly better values. But the actual taste of the food and the experience do matter to me in this case. Pros: * Food actually tastes AWESOME! * Menu has a good deal of variety * Restaurant is clean and slightly upscale feeling Cons: * Service can occasionally be slow (not always - its hit or miss) * Not as much value for the money (lunch doesnt come with soup/salad/etc.)

I am a regular there, I agree the comment below that the spicy ratings are inconsistent. the food is nothing to complaint. But the service needs huge improvement. I mean, some servers there is very very young, they need more training before they can go to serve customer. One time I overheard a couple sitting table next to ours (they came before us, but we had our order arrive way before them) really upset about the wait and asked where their food is, server just say: I dont know! Then went into kitchen with no follow up and apology. Its like it is not their responsibility to make sure everyone is happy.

Food was fantastic, might be the best Asian food in St Louis. My wife is from Southeast Asia and she and all her friends rave about the food. You can go "off the chart" and theyll make the food as spicy as you like. Dishes are authentic tasting, not Americanized so calibrate your expectations accordingly. Service was also authentic, so to speak, food came out when it was done, not all at once, but staff was very friendly and accomodating just a little slow and seemed disoriented, for lack of a better word. With food this good though, who cares? Cant wait to go back!

Trato cordial y precios razonables.

The most confusing meal Ive had in a while. Ive never eaten a meal that was so warm, yet tasted so under cooked in my life. I feel like it defied physics. I ordered the yellow curry, which was first off, very flavorless, but specifically, my issue was that the chicken was like rubber when I bit into it. I wasnt sure if that meant it was under cooked or previously frozen. The potatoes were extremely hot, but yet crunchy when I bit into them. I made it about half way through the meal before giving up due to lack of interest and concern for my health.

Very expensive for mediocre thai food. 2nd visit was with 2 coworkers for lunch. Stood for almost 10 minutes at front of restaurant waiting for anyone to address our presence. Someone ran out from the back for 2 seconds only to retreat back to kitchen once they glanced at us... Table that was sitting down noticed us standing and recommended that we leave because they had ordered entrees over 20 minutes ago and nothing was arriving. For the cost of their average food, Thai Sawadee should raise the caliber of their service or lower prices significantly...

Bad service. Ordered Green Curry among other things. The curry was served without rice (which comes by default). When asked, we were told theyve ran out of rice. They then offered the sides, where we selected boiled noodles, and to our dismay, we kept waiting for it forever!! When we again asked another server, they just said that they forgot! Finally we paid for a dish which wasnt served the way their menu says! And we had no idea why we were treated so horribly. Extremely disappointed with this experience.

Our entree was packed to go without the rice on a take out order. The staff were not courteous enough to offer a side of rice or a refund when complained ( I drove back to see them). Plus, the take out was not cooked well. When asked to cook fried rice without egg, the final dish had big pieces of salt and thus too salty. Chef reasoned that since there are no eggs in dish, he could not dissolve the salt pieces. He needs a crash course in food science or probably enroll in culinary school

Food here is wonderful. New restaurant - built in 2008. Facilities are spotless, decor is updated and modern, staff is friendly. The soup of the day which came with our lunch was so delicious and savory!! I can not wait to return. The main dish was not bogged down in heavy oils or dressings which can sometimes come with a Thai meal. Very flavorful, perfect portions and a good deal for the prices.
