Went here this morning, Ive been looking for a great diner for those slightly-hungover mornings and this place delivers! Service was top notch, frequently using glorious terms like "Would you like gravy on that?". The portions were HUGE. I will normally finish even an irresponsibly large plate of food but this beast was a to-go box situation. Pricing is exactly what you expect- $6-8 for a heaping plate of food. Fiance had a big sausage-ham-bacon skillet, I had the biscuits and gravy combo (which comes with a ham steak that was the best Ive ever had) and our bill was $20.60. You cant beat that! What closed the deal for us was as we were pulling away, the owner comes running out with a box of food trying to track down who forgot it on the table. Literally in the parking lot, making sure everyone got what they came for. 10/10, just go here and eat.

We sat down and were immediately greeted and brought drinks. So far, so good! Once we ordered our breakfast, things took a turn. It was 30 minutes before anyone came to ask if we needed a refill or update us on the status of our food. Wait staff continued to take orders and even served food to tables that had been seated well after our order was placed. I spoke with our waiter and was assured she would have the food out in a couple of minutes. 10 more minutes passed without a word said to us while they continued to take orders. We walked out. This may be an isolated incident, but they werent that busy and our order was pretty standard for breakfast. Definitely wont be back.

The Afton Diner is hands down, the best home style breakfast you can get in the Afton area. The portions are huge and the food is delicious! The home potatoes are definitely my favorite thing to get there. Every thing is cooked to order and the service is fantastic. They also have phenomenal French toast and also offer a Senior discount on Mondays and Tuesdays! Check in on the weekends to see what kind of tasty specials they have! You will not find another diner in Afton where the entire staff treats you like family. Im a dedicated customer for life!

My family and I have become regulars of this diner. I love to come in on a week day and Sam, the loveliest waitress already knows Ill have the French Toast with whipped cream, which is absolutely fantastic (and thick)! Jonathan, the Turkish owner, comes out to greet my children warmly and makes my kids Mickey pancakes with bacon that are ENORMOUS. Needless to say, I adore this place and recommend it for families.

Better food than a Navy ship! lol Johnny, the owner/cook, is a good guy. When in St. Louis I go there. He sees me coming and knows what I eat and its in front of me in a heartbeat. Now some people may throw a bad review, but these individuals are very few and obviously just like to complain; they would find fault in a winning lotto ticket. Go there and you decide. Tell Johnny that I sent you.

Great food, reasonable prices, and a very friendly owner! He left for a few weeks and the guy who was left in charge drove away some customers (myself included), but Jonathan is back now so he will continue to get my business and referrals. He makes huge delicious omelets that come with yummy potatoes! Check this place out, youll be glad you did!

great small diner, friendly waiting staff, great atmosphere. The cook always makes time to come out and talk to customers. Its a little hidden gemstone in Affton. Prices are low for a huge portions, you will always go home with leftovers. My boyfriend and I ate there for both of us under 15 dollars. Great place go check it out.

Not a local friendly shop, they serve other people before helping out outsiders. 3 parties got helped out before us. The server said its a senior breakfast restaurant only. Not very friendly, 2 servers came to ask for drinks but never brought them yet they served drinks to 3 other tables.

Aweful. Not even half full and had to wait 45 minutes for a hamburger and a roast beef sandwich. Excuses, promises, everything but the food that I ordered. Ill never come back. Couldve walked into the kitchen and did better myself.

silver wear and everything had a BBQ taste to it. My cheese omlet was watery and nasty, our plates were oily and had food still encrusted on the outside. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Worst experience ever.

One star is generous given our experience. Long (40 minutes plus) wait for food. No communication given. Food was not good. Server was nice and he was trying but kitchen staff needs to be retrained or replaced.

Very friendly staff. The pasta bowl was delicious, the chicken in the pasta was perfectly crispy and had just the right amount of seasoning. Will definitely be going here again, next time for breakfast.
