Ive been following this venture since it opened in early August. It was doing great at first - the food was good on the first day, there was plenty of service staff, and they seemed to be being treated well. But I came in recently, and to my surprise, my favorite server no longer works there - seemingly cut for payroll and I hear hes not the only one. The Dubliner Cafe is now understaffed, as the City Pages so aptly noticed, but theyve done it to themselves. The last few times Ive been there, the serving staff has been an increasingly smaller group of all white young women. The guys have all been let go, seemingly, save for maybe one of them that also appears to work in the kitchen. Little weird, maybe they think young women will draw in their leering old white guy customers? If thats not weird enough, the scotchless scotch eggs have no sausage and the reuben doesnt even have rye bread as an option! Its a sad attempt at culinary ingenuity. They also deleted their review section on facebook when it got too negative for their egos to handle. If they are having to cut staff already and traffic keeps slowing to a halt like it has recently, then that tells me theyre not doing well and its probably cause of bad planning. Perhaps they spent too much on the remodel of the space or maybe they are finally reaping what they sowed with the take over of Bonnies.

This pub has a super friendly neighborhood vibe. The free popcorn is made fresh everyday. They now have Heggies Pizza, a great value and very tasty. There is a large selection of local craft beers. A surprising change is there is now great local blues and blue grass at 5-7 PM on Thursdays during their Acoustic Happy Hour and a Sunday music series that features some of Twin Cities finest musicians. The Pub is well known for having outstanding Irish music and dance. On Fridays there is a traditional Irish music session and lots of nights they have lively Irish music from 9-2AM. The place had a reputation for being a "dive" bar but with all the updates, clean restrooms and comfortable seating there isnt anything "dive-like about the place.

Best Irish Pub in the cities, and they just started serving food next door where Bonnies used to be -- Its now called the Dubliner Cafe. The burger was outstanding and the service was great, too; I highly recommend you give it a shot. The Cafe is fantastic -- they have a great menu with pub fare and breakfast options as well. The art deco vibe and design is superb, too; It has a classic diner feel to it. For those of you who used to visit Bonnies you will not be disappointed with what they did with the space! Im going to have to come back in and try out their breakfast/coffee which I hear is great as well.

Weve been semi-regulars here over the past several years. The service has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. The bartender refused to make a black and tan today even though there were few people in the place and there was plenty of time to make it. The bartender also refused to honor a Groupon (after asking the manager) even though it was still valid and there were no exclusions about using it. I mentioned we were regulars and this treatment would affect our willingness to come back. The bartender could have cared less. We will look to frequent elsewhere going forward.

The Dubliner is one of my favorite pubs to hang out in. The bartenders are always friendly, and they always have their regular shifts, so if you keep going there on the same days, you will get to know your bartender well, and thats a great thing. Sunday nights are some of my favorite times to hang out there, with the Pub Quiz. Tom Mays always has a challenging quiz, and they are lots of fun. The First Fridays has the Hot Pants DJ night, and if you havent seen those guys DJ before, you have to come down to experience it for yourself... Come on down and have a pint.

The Dubliner is my neighborhood pub. Set in the midst of the active Creative Enterprise Zone, and walking distance from Raymond Station on the Green Line, it has an old-school industrial feel. Always a good selection of local and craft brews, along with the old standbys Grain Belt and PBR. Its a working persons bar with a regularly rotating slate of fine local music. Also a good spot for community gatherings. And the patio in the warm weather is comfy.

Love the Dubs, great pub on the one side and now a fledgling cafe on the other. Has the essentials of a good bar including a robust whisky selection and a hard working tender; glad the eggs are fully Scotch now. Would love to see some lamb (stew?) on the menu and also black and white pudding to go with some mushrooms, rashers, eggs and tomato... think about it, Dubliner... think about it...

Sorry, Dubliner, Negative review ahead. Please stop taping your signs to lamp-posts and signal-posts on historic St Paul streets....this is graffiti.....no different than taggers who use spray-paint. Advertise in City Pages, the Strib, your website, Facebook.....but please respect our beautiful streets and no-posting laws, and stop taping ugly signs to public property.

Great place, just dont go on Sunday evening - the trivia is hosted by an activist who injects political dialogue into the evening. I happen to agree with him on most counts, but have been sickened the last few times .... as the pub is supposed to be a place to get away from that. Change the rating to a 4 when the owners realize politics dont belong in a pub

New Dubliner Cafe great fish and chips (could go a little heavier on the chips) lots of Irish men floating around good music (little bit loud for the space) non the less delightfully genuine. Guinness and Smithwicks on tap if only Murphys Irish Stout were there it would set thus bar forward from A. to Z. Really enjoy the time here.

Stopped in with a group of friends and the bartender was very rude and upset with having too many people there for just her to handle instead of being happy for the business and tips we brought in. Needless to say we didnt stay long and brought our business elsewhere where they were happy to serve us.

The Dubliner is my first choice for quality craft beer, fine whiskies, and good music. The staff is friendly and informed. The decor is inviting. Parking is easy. The bathrooms are clean. The patio is lovely when its pleasant weather. Did I mention Irish dancing, congenial hosts, and free popcorn?

The food was a little above average, not great. I had a typical breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns. It was Sunday morning and we walked in just as they were opening, yet they were out of milk and wheat bread, which seemed strange to me. Service was good.

My favorite dive bar! Very relaxed atmosphere and the live music is great. The patio is newly renovated so its fun to enjoy a beverage outside when the weather is nice. Great place to people watch too, especially during Wednesdays when theres dance lessons.

Café has a chill vibe. Like a typical cafe or diner. Service was good. Ordered the french toast - its nice they have a half order option! I like the drink menu too. The remodel from bonnies is more open and a little more sophisticated.
