I went here for the beer, because theyre attached to one of my favorite Indian restaurants, so this is only a review of the brewery part. I was totally disappointed in the lack of brews, as well as the quality. I frequent many of the breweries in the cities and the beer at Nutmeg was some of the worst Ive had. They only had a Wee Heavy, which tasted mostly of metal and cleaning solution, and a Winter Ale which wasnt an ale, and tasted like a very mediocre porter. Low tap availability and issues in the process could be to blame for some of the quality issues here, but the thing that kicks this down to a 1-star is the disgrace to beer that was their cask. It was an extremely amateur tasting Belgian IPA mixed with Blue Raspberry Koolaid. Even the bartender grimaced when someone asked to taste it. It is a horrible experiment and tasted exactly of cough medicine. The worst beer I have ever tasted. Id anticipate these issues in a new brewery, but given that they are over a year out from launch, there isnt much room for excuses here. I would not recommend this place for the beer they produce at this time. Go next door to India Palace for Indian food instead. Youll be much happier with even their small foreign and domestic beer selection over this places beer.

I brought my wife there because I wanted to try their beer. We didnt expect to be blown away by their food. We got their lamb chops and chicken. We both agreed that our meals were better than any other restaurant weve been to in the area. The portion sizes were sensible, and the beer was excellent. The beer is very comparable to taprooms in the cities. The only negative was the atmosphere. Its a fairly small place, and it was extremely packed. Hipsters were standing behind the bar, because there wasnt enough seating. If they had booths or more secluded tables, it would become our go-to place for date nights. The atmosphere matched what youd find in most of the other taprooms in the cities. Its great for stopping by for a beer, but a bit busy for taking the missus out, when you just want a quieter night without the kids. Im hoping that this place will be a little less busy as more time passes. Otherwise, well still stop by when we want a casual outing. Or Ill just bring some of my beer-loving guy friends here.

I can honestly say the best thing about this place was the over priced beer. The food was either over done or under done, Im sure if they are trying to put their own little spin on their food to make it unique, but just wasnt for me. The scotch eggs were soft boiled (still a bit runny yokes), the shrimp was were over done (rubbery) , the wings tasted like they were microwaved, and the ribs were boiled to the point where they were tasteless. It just seemed as if they were trying to be a combination of hipster and high class, with a little bit of "a place to be seen drinking overpriced beer/wine/scotch, so you can look all high class" with not quite making it. I thinking that waiting an hour at burger Jones would have been better time spent. Oh well, live and learn.

I dont drink so I cant comment on their hand crafted brew.....I did eat their fish and chips and they were extremely good....hand battered cod and hand cut chips with homemade tarter sauce....my only complaint was for $15.50 you get two "good size" pieces of fish......three would have been perfect....my wife had a chicken ka bob which came on a bed bed of rice with three skewers of chicken and veggies....she ate two and decided it was too spicy.....I ate the last one and decided it was prepared with "buffalo chicken" that I don"t care for.....also $15.50....we had some naan bread for an appetizer which I thought was nasty.....a little bit expensive but the fish and chips are awesome......if you are going on the weekend, go early, the place seats about 50 patrons MAXIMUM!

Fantastic experience! This was our second time at Nutmeg, and our first not in a large group. Service was great, with our waiter staying attentive and displaying good knowledge of the menu. The poutine appetizer was excellent and a perfect size to share among 2-3 people. I had the lamb chops, which were cooked exactly as ordered and were seasoned excellently! Fair warning though, they do pack a bit of a punch spice-wise! My girlfriend ordered the shrimp appetizer along with a side of mashed potatoes. Both tasted excellent, but she wouldnt do it again as it just didnt feel like an entire meal according to her. Still, thats no points off the restaurant! Overall just a great experience and we look forward to going back!

We came back for our second visit in 3 days and the food was amazing again. The flavors and spices are so perfectly balanced. Clearly they have a team who cares about quality. I have tried over 6 of their dishes and been very impressed by EVERY one of them. The Caribbean jerk wings are unique and amazing. The chicken Tikki is fabulous. The buffalo wings - hot and regular are great. The spare ribs are outstanding. Their fries are incredible especially with BBQ sauce. The only disappointment is no crowler (can growler) available to bring their AMAZING beers back to colorado with me. I will miss eating here!

Come for the charcuterie stay for... Nothing. Well lets just start at the beer, absolutely nothing to write about, nothing inspiring, new or original. For a brewpub to have such a small selection(4 beers) and for each of the those beer to be so ounoriginal is unfortunate. The food was okay maybe a little pretentious for the area. Not sure if youll find another spot in Burnsville with a $18 charcuterie board, but it was good non the less. My bottom line is a brewery needs to start with good beer which as of right now is a fail, and then follow up with food.

I just ate here for the first time for lunch. Had the Cod and fries and the fish was amazing! Fries were good to decent, but wow that fish was good. Also had the Nutmeg ESB which was a great malt type of beer which I was happy with. Finished off with a 14yr old scooth they sell by the glass. I am not a huge scotch fan, bit even I could tell it was smooth. Good service too. Not pushy but always aware. Filled my water glass every time it got low. All and all definitely worthy of 5 stars.

Usually only go here for their beer, but after my last experience I probably will look elsewhere. If you paid over $40 to fill 2-64oz growlers with a restaurants OWN beer, you would at least expect fresh beer. What I got was a 64oz growler of Peg Leg, and a 64oz growler of Ship Sinker, and it was awful. 0 carbonation , completely flat, no fizz, no head and this was right after getting home from the restaurant. I had maybe a half pint from each growler before pouring it all out.

There is nothing British about this place except for the scotch and some attempted pub fare. The ambiance is not pub; it looks more like the inside of a mass-produced apartment complex (I bet they used the same builder for this place as others are currently using for apartments springing up in Apple Valley). The chicken tikka is very subpar - lacking taste or spice. They do have two of their own beers, which is cool. Overall, though, I think this place is pretty average.
