I am 9 months pregnant and was craving some fried ice cream. We went to El Azteca. We had the quest fundido and I had the AL pastor tacos which were both good. When we got the "fried" ice cream I was dissapointed. I dont even think it was fried ice cream. It was a scoop of ice cream in a tortilla/taco cup/bowl with chocolate and Carmel over it. Real fried ice cream is frozen to a very low temperature to with stand the frier and has a crunchy outer layer. It is also a little harder from being frozen soo cold. This was none of that. Literally an ice cream Sunday in a tortilla bowl. Very disappointed, still have my craving and was a waste of money. I feel ripped off. Dont go here for fried ice cream if you have a craving.

Greeted warmly and with big smiles at the door and seated quickly. We have a 3.5 year old and 1 year old and this is the most phenomenally kid friendly experience we have had since moving to the suburbs from St Paul. Every person on staff was kind, friendly, and awesome with our kids. Our kids loved it. Great family vibe to the place. The menu is big, and the food was quickly served. Flavors and quality were awesome. Good flavor, no holding back on the heat. Really impressed with our experience and Ive hated the suburbs so far... Props to Las Tortillas in Rosemount as well, but this one was a much better dinner with kids experience for us. (and if nothing else... the house margarita... pretty not bad)

They greet you with a smile. I have yet to wait more than 5 min for a seat. They start you out with a good size bowl of chips salsa and what I can only describe as white magic in a dish. They mix really well. Then their list of lunch and dinner options is quite extensive. They run the gambit of normal Mexican dishes. My personal favorite is hands down the burrito chicken chipolte. All of the burritos are soft and tasty and go oh so well with the left over chips from before your meal. Dinner comes quite promptly and will fill you to the brim.

I hardly ever right reviews but had to for here! The food was AMAZING! I had seafood enchiladas. The seafood was fresh and snappy. YUM! The margarita was really good too. The service was slow (I think they messed up and lost our order) But we were with friends laughing eating chips and salsa and it was WORTH THE WAIT!!! We just decided we were on island time. ;-) If you have patience, I highly recommend you eat here. Good places are always busy. The more people I talk to the more I hear THEM rave about this place too!

The food is great, the service sucks!! I have been there four times and every time we get seated right away, they bring chips/salsa and then we wait 10-15 minutes for the waiter to show up to get our drink order, I have had to flag down staff to get a refill of soda. I could understand that if it was packed, but it has never been packed when I have been there. It is very disappointing to find great tasting food with poor service......I would suggest take out before dining in. Again, great food....bad service.

The chips, salsa and the white sauce are great but thats where it ends. The nachos that we ordered were slapped together and loaded with cheese to the point it was sickening. I ordered the enchiladas sonaras which was very tasty nothing to complain about there. After that we ordered the fried cheesecake which was good but they forgot the ice cream. It was ok because the manager was very kind and did alot to make our experience there better. But the damage was already done.very extensive menu.

When you look at the abundance of similar restaurants to El Azteca, such as El Patio, El Loro, Teresas, etc. El Azteca is definitely our favorite for two reasons: 1. The food has always been consistently good, every time. While not the best Ive ever eaten, weve found our favorite dishes (Chimichanga Dinner with Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Steak and Chicken Fajitas) and they are good. 2. The margaritas arent as strong as I like, but they are delicious and not too sweet.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! Being a vegetarian sometimes the options of food at restaurants dont offer a wide variety. Their vegetarian menu offers so many different options. My personal favorite are the mushroom quesadilla, potato burrito and the cheese and spinach enchiladas. Their margaritas are amazing as well. The service is always great, very friendly and fast. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone:)

This was our first time here, and we decided to try it on a whim. I think we just discovered our new favorite restaurant. Food was excellent and portions were a little bigger than expected. Complimentary chips and salsa, friendly waitstaff, and prompt (though not what I would call fast) service. The restrooms were perfectly clean, festive looking, and spacious (mens room). Average dinner cost about $13 before beverages.

Food is great quality, fresh and made at time of order. Staff is friendly and service is rapid. In the 20 or so visits to this location over the last 4 years I have not had a bad meal. I like the enchiladas poblanas, lunch fajitas with chicken, and seafood chimi. Portions are large and food is mild (in terms of spiciness). Large tables in back make group seating easy and the bar is small.

The chips and salsa were good. The food was terrible. I think taco bell has better food than this place. The food came out cold and no taste at all. The chicken must come out of a can! The sauce had no taste. The waiter had a hard time understanding English, when I wanted him to have it heated up. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you want to go for chops and salsa!!! .

I have now gone here 5 or 6 times and every time is outstanding! Given the service every time it seems that it is employee owned since they take so much pride in their atmosphere, service, and food quality - love it! They treat my 2 year old son and his mess amazingly! All I can say is be careful with the Margaritas...amazingly good but pretty strong! (Came on fast!)

This has become my familys favorite restaurant in Apple Valley. I have been here 5 times over the course of 3 visits to Minnesota and have had consistently good food and large portions. Good standard traditional Tex-Mex selections with a few other interesting additions. We generally order the Fajitas for two and have LOTS of leftovers to eat the next day.

My wife and I have been coming here for about a year now and its our favorite Mexican restaurant by a landslide. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the staff is always warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, not too loud and not too cramped. Their prices are very reasonable as well. Love this place!

This is a great family restaurant. The food is authentic and very tasty. No, its not Taco Hell. Yes,the staff speak Spanish. Expecting otherwise is a bit disingenuous. We have had seafood and more traditional central Mexico dishes. Give the chicken spinach and cheese enchiladas a try!
