I highly disagree with the 1 star review from Meena. Id actually say all of what you described, but Id say it about Singhs. I dont find Singhs food to be very Jamaican in comparison. I dont know if youve been to Jamaica, but the food there is not the same as other islands in the region. Ive been to Jamaica five times for about a month at a time. If you get the "Kill Em Wid It" sauce from Pimento, it is spot on with what the sauce tastes like in Jamaica (including the heat). Its served with the sides I would expect on the island (plantains and coconut rice) and in the quantity Id expect. On the island, a plate of Jerk is about $6. Here I believe it was $9, which to me is cheap by American standards. Now, granted, I have not tried the curried vegetables, but the curry goat and jerk chicken dishes are the most similar to genuine Jamaican food Ive tasted without it being made on the island. Also, Jamaican food kind of is bland (especially if you are not using the authentic sauce). They were a British colony until 1962 after all. I just think you dont like Jamaican food and thats fine, but dont blame the restaurant for making it authentically.

I ordered two meals at the register. One for my son and one for myself. We sat down. The first thing I noticed was the tables were very sticky like they had not been washed all day. They also were unstable, they wobbled around making it hard to eat off of. The food came and they brought the wrong meal for my son. I assumed I ordered it wrong and we started to eat. 5 minutes later a lady came from the kitchen and got mad that he was eating the wrong food and said next time she would make us pay for it and she was rude about it. I could not believe my ears. That was their screw up and I would have rather had the food I thought I ordered. I recently vacationed in Jamaica and was excited for the jerk food however the food was nothing like what I experienced in Jamaica. I give one star because the service was terrible, the restaurant was dirty and the food was average for fast food. Not worth driving across town for.

While Ive only had the opportunity to order delivery through Uber Eats so far, what was delivered was awesome! Got the One Love bowl with the Kill Dem Wid It sauce and couldnt be happier. The meat was super moist, flavorful on its own, and the slaw (thank you for not drenching it in things like most places do!), rice, and plantains were fantastic. Getting plantains right takes love and effort - both are evident here. The sauce wasnt super hot to me, but Im a transplant and do not share the MN spicy requirements of many of the MN natives. It had a nice building heat, while delivering flavor from the peppers. Well balanced and tasty no matter the heat level! Really cannot wait to take the better half here so we can try more things. I look forward to making my way through this menu.

This is a great addition to eat street. I understand why these guys won Food Networks "Food Wars." Really diverse clientele: everything from hipsters to jamacians to Edina moms were all grubbing out on some killer eats. I ordered the Jerk Chicken plate, which comes with rice and plantains. Everything was amazing. It seemed relatively healthy as well, making this a good spot to put on consistent rotation. We ended up buying some of the "Kingston Kick" jerk sauce and have used it a couple time at home and its great. Love this place!

I loved this place when they first opened. I still love the food now, but theyre far too slow now. For the past 3 times Ive been there its been a minimum of 30 min wait, and thats not during the busy time! Also, there was one waitress that was incredibly rude to my wife when she was asking about the menu. She actually said that my wife was bothering her. I love the food, but the service has gone downhill for me and I dont think I can continue to support them. Maybe in time theyll get it figured out.

Bustling, happening place, smaller sized restaurant that was busy, but the service was great and the food came out fast and delicious. I had the special-the coconut bread chicken sandwich, which was a first and it wasunique and delicious, and despite it being busy it came out faster than expected, and was extremely filling. Really nice customer service and cool Jamaican decor was a nice ambiance, a mini trip to Jamaica within Minnesota.

Well I had high expectations of this restaurant but after eating my meal 2 stars is enough. The customer service was good but that is where it ends. 1st the dry food, Cole slaw and the red beans and rice were very dry. The slaw tasted out of a bag from Cub foods and the beans and rice well very disappointed. The jerk chicken was flavorful but a bit on the dry side also. The best part of the meal were the 6 wings, hence the 2 stars.

I ordered take out "Jerk Chicken" and "Ox Tales". The Jerk Chicken was dry, tasted like rub, and wasnt juicy. The coleslaw tasted like shredded cabbage and the red beans and rice were dry also. The Ox tales were dry and looked like they had been sitting in a food warmer for awhile. The red beans and rice with them were dry, and the coleslaw tasted like shredded cabbage. The service was fast and courteous and the atmosphere was nice.

All around had a great experience. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Restaurant has a nice ambiance, feel and decor. The food was FANTASTIC. I had the combination jerk chicken and pork. The meat was fresh, spicy and cooked perfectly. The portions were very generous, we also tried the chicken wings which were absolutely delicious. Big portions, delicious food and very reasonable prices. Will definitely be going back soon!

Good stuff! Loved the atmosphere; they had the garage doors open since it was nice out and reggae music playing. I had the jerk chicken and rice with the Minnesota Nice sauce (very little kick) on the side. Nice sized portions. Chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I especially love the plantains on the side...sweet and savory. The Jamaican patties were pretty good and flavorful. Order it all with a refreshing Ting!

Friendly staff, a bright and clean place, and a short wait for a light and flavorful meal. The vegetable curry was flavorful if not particularly spicy, served atop rice and beans with tangy plátanos that were so caramelized my friend and I thought they were pork at first. I recommend the bottled sorrel if youve got a sweet tooth, although I had hoped for some house-made. All said, however, I can easily recommend a visit.

Woke up this morning, had a taste for some home cooking. Went to Pimento Jamaican kitchen in minneapolis. Are these people kidding me. They can fool those American with there foolish dishes, but you cant fool this Jamaica. Four and a half star who you kidding. I wouldnt even give a star. "THE SHAME" I spent sixty dollars for foods that had to go in the garbage. Hello and Goodbye to this place.

And, I am Caribbean, and the food was not delicious either, so I.agine my anger!!!!!!!
