My husband and I went to Old Chicago on November 22. 2014, at approximately 8:30PM. We have gone to this restaurant before. This was the worst service ever received from a server in any restaurant. The server/waitress was very unfriendly. When we arrived, the hostess who seated us was nice. Our server/waitress J arrived, did not introduce herself. I believe she approached us and said, what would you like to drink. We gave her our request of beverages. She was attempting to leave, then my husband said, I would like a small dinner salad to start. I then ordered a cup of soup. I said to her, would you please make sure the soup is hot. She wrote something down on her pad. When waitress J left, my husband and I said, she is very unfriendly. She arrived with our beverages, soup and salad. Waitress J left. Waitress J did not return to check on how our food was tasting. I perceived to eat my soup. My husband is allergic to almonds and did not eat his salad. We kept looking and hoping waitress J would return, she did not. I waved my hand to one of the host, he came over. We asked for a salad without almonds. He immediately sent over a waiter, not our waitress, whom we still did not see. The waiter came over, retrieved the salad and replaced it with a salad without almonds. Waitress J went to the table behind us. I waved to her to let her know that my husband had asked for another salad without almonds and she had not returned to check to see how things were going. Her reaction was, oh, okay. She then left to continue to bus the table behind us. She brought our food. I asked for a small dish. She said, you mean a plate or a bowl. I said, no, a small saucer/dish. She said, you mean, like this. She did not place it nicely on the table. It was like a small throw. She then left and did not return the entire time we ate our meals. I was able to see her in the kitchen area of the restaurant talking with someone. This time, I waved to another waitress to get another beverage for my husband. She came over immediately and went to get the beverage/Pepsi. We continued to eat our meals. Waitress J did not come back to our table. As a matter of fact, we finished eating and my husband went to the front of the restaurant to said our waitress had not serviced us and to get the bill. Of course, no one was at the register. Waitress J along with other waitresses were seated at a table. Waitress J saw my husband waiting at the register and came to the table to bring our bill. We explained to her, this was the worst service that we have ever received in our history of going to a restaurant. Waitress J admitted, "Yes, I did a poor job, would you like to speak to my manager.?" "What would you like?" My husband said, "We do not want anything other than to pay our bill and get out of here?" He went on to say, "The food was fine, but the service was very poor." Bad experience with your waitress, Old Chicago, can make or break your business. Providing your customers with good customer service is the key. Disliked the service provided.

I work late, and stopped in to get some food to go in late December 2016. I thought I would order some food to go - which Id had before, and sit down, have a drink while I waited. It wasnt very busy, although just after Christmas was in a good mood. Sat at the bar and had a drink, talking with a couple at the bar. Was pretty hungry so while I waited for my chicken sandwich and fries - which seemed to take forever to come up. I saw this guy eating a small pizza, and it looked good, so I ordered one cause he said it was a $3 bar pizza. That came out in about 8 min. I was gonna bring half of it home for my son, but I ended up ordering another drink and since I dont like to drink on an empty stomach, ended up eating all the small pizza - (didnt look as good as the other guys) and still waited for another 35 or more minutes for my to go meal. When it finally came, I didnt look at it, but hurried home. When I opened the box, the fries were absolutely cold, and the sandwich was really fat and overcooked on 1 side, and I bit in - it was unedible. The bun was not even grilled or toasted and up against a burned and sad looking piece of chicken I did not eat it - (meal wasnt cheap) and promptly called the place to complain. I spoke with a man who claimed to be the manager and told him how I had waited at the bar well over an hour, having a couple drinks because I had to wait so long and when I get home my meal was unacceptable. He was somewhat belligerent, and said hes send me out a coupon. I did not want to give out my address to someone I dont know, and asked if he would take my name down, and I could come in another time and get a replacement meal, to which he agreed. Since I work late, its often hard for me to get out to get a meal - so I came in 2/8/17 which is just about 5-6 weeks later. When I arrived, I told the bartender I wanted to order 2 meals to go, and that I should have 1 of them comped due to my experience I detailed above. He went & got the manager, and it was a woman. Basically she said they dont work that way, I would have had to present a coupon - and I told her I had bypassed that idea, that if that was the only way to get my meal compensated he should have told me when I called. Then she starts telling the patrons sitting at the bar that she doesnt give away free food, even though it was only a couple folks there, it was like she was calling me liar. I said Maam, I am not making this up, and she asked for my name and phone # and I would not be able to get it today. I was disappointed, and said I was going to leave. She starts laughing and yells out: "Keep on leaving Lady" to which I replied - I am not lying, and to shut up. I will never go back. I gave the date, detail of what I ordered, where I sat, and how I ended up spending more $ at the bar due to waiting over an hour for my food. What part of that sounds like a scam? No wonder they dont have good trade anymore, when they serve garbage as food, and treat customers like crap.

My girlfriend and I are currently in a long distance relationship. I go to college in Arizona and she lives at home in the twin cities area. I was home for Christmas break and on the last night of my break before returning back to school I took her to Old Chicago for a date night. The food was good and our waitress seemed like a very nice lady. After finishing our meal we decided that we wanted a picture outside of the restaurant in front of the strung up lights outside. We didnt know who to ask for a picture as I didnt want to interrupt other people trying to eat. I decided that I would ask a waitress to take the picture. I saw one waitress who was cleaning up a table and asked her if she could take a picture of my girlfriend and I outside, I also offered $3 for the inconvenience. Immediately after asking if she could take a picture of my girlfriend and I , she said no and looked at me like I was some kind of serial rapist. I then asked her why she refused and she said that she felt threatened by me and that she wasnt going to do it. All I wanted was just one picture of my girlfriend that I rarely get see, outside in front of the pretty lights and instead I was rudely rejected and offended. Me and my girlfriends experience was ruined by that one waitress. I didnt think that asking for a picture to be taken was an abnormal request, especially at a bar type restaurant. I was offended by her reaction and her rude way of declining, ruining my experience.
