Disappointed in the food and the owners. As we all know, things happen, things can be forgotten, no one is perfect .. but take some responsibility! We had a party of 15 on a rainy Sunday afternoon (only 30% of the restaurant was in use) and no one on the decks (rainy). It took 45 minutes to get our food. Once the food arrived, the onion rings and French fries on EVERY order were cold. As you can imagine, after waiting 45 minutes, everyone was so hungry and we began to nibble while we waited for our server to come back, when she did, I asked for new onion rings since these were cold and told her about the other orders with cold French fries. She brought me a new hot order of onion rings - but did nothing for the ones with French fries. We also had 4 orders of burgers that included bacon that were all missing the bacon - we even grabbed a menu to make sure they were suppose to have bacon. Yep, missing bacon. When I let her know about the bacon - she said she would check with the kitchen (not sure what good that would do - but off she went). She returned with a plate of bacon and when I questioned what we were suppose to do with this, since the burgers at this point were more then 3/4 gone (it had been 15 minutes since the food had arrived) she said it was for the burgers. I asked to speak with the owner. What a disappointment that was! Does this woman have any restaurant experience and management skills what-so-ever? I think not! As I calmly told her what had happened - she stood there and got very defensive, saying that she personally prepped the food and the food was brought out as soon as it was done (complete lie, first, there is no way 15 orders could be done at one time. Second, ALL the sides were cold (so unless she was using cold oil to prepare) and then she said she spoke to cook and he said he put bacon on the burgers - really? so the bacon magically disappeared before it got to the table? WOW - that is just crazy! The owner could of made this right in one minute simply by apologizing for the delay in the food and mix up on the order and cold sides and bought us a round of drinks OR provide dessert or something like that and we would of been just fine (as I stated above "stuff happens") but oh no .. she wanted to argue and get defensive .. funny, she did come back 10 minutes later and say that the bacon was forgotten and would make sure this would not happen in the future (that is a great thing - for the next customer - but what about us??) ATLEAST deduct the bacon from the tab!?!? Oh no, she gave us all FULL TABS. I sent the tab back and asked her to do right thing. She tool $10 off my tab and did NOTHING for the other guests in my party. Simply - DISAPPOINTING, this shows that they are greedy and truly do not care about the experience of their guests. Too bad, since they really have a beautiful deck and cage that is fun on a sunny day. Never to return! I would recommend Island View up the shoreline a little bit. One more thing - they featured shrimp tacos - and guess what? they did not have shrimp! Go figure! Terrible management.

Just returned last week from a fishing trip to Sha Sha Resort. The lodge & restaurant appeared nice, but was closed for the week during our stay. The cabins are overpriced, and not as nice as others have claimed. We stayed in cabin #4 and had nothing but problems the entire week. There appeared to be electrical surges occurring throughout the cabin, but was worse in the evening. Lights would flicker on & off, appliances would shut off and lightbulbs burnt out on three different lamps. We notified the owner right away, and he said he spoke with the power company who claimed they had been working on lines in the area which was causing the problems. This wasnt the case, and the surges continued. We notified him again, and he said he would check it out the following morning. The next day he checked the breaker panel, and looked around outside but didnt find anything. He said he would have his business partner out to take a look sometime soon. He never showed up, and the problem grew worse. We had trouble every evening while trying to watch the direct tv as it would go out repeatedly, and we would then have to wait several minutes for the satellite tv to reboot. My ipod is completely fried and irreplaceable because of these surges. By the fifth day the owners were not answering their phone, nor replying to any of our messages. It felt as though we were being ignored. We were mainly concerned of a fire, and the fact that my father needs his cpap machine for sleep apneia. There were times we were left sitting in the dark for minutes at a time with no power. On our last night we of course then heard from the owners when it was time to settle up the bill. At that time nothing was said of the problem, and there was no adjustment made on the bill. When we asked for a discount because of the inconvenience she replied saying they figured we would ask for that, and all she would take off was $200. I asked her if they believed us about the problem, and she responded saying it was just funny that we were the only customers to have ever mentioned the problem when nobody else had. WOW!..It was very frustrating to have this happen all week, then nothing get done about it and then basically be called liars. If they would of put us up in another cabin, or at least apologized and said this $$ amount has been taken off your bill we would of been fine with that. But nothing. Very rude and unprofessional. You pay $1400 for a weeks rental the least you can expect is to have working electricity throughout your cabin. This could be a great resort, but we will not be returning because of this unfortunate incident. Think twice about booking with this resort, but if you do be warned if you have to deal with the owners about ANYTHING.

I am a Deaf person. I went to Sha Sha to eat a birthday dinner with my 7 year old son. My waitress and I had trouble understanding each other. I wanted a refill for my soda. I asked her if it was a fountain drink or a can because I did not want to pay twice. She stated that it was a fountain drink then went on to get me another. Upon getting the check, I saw that I was charged separately for my sons drink which was supposed to have been included. I also saw that I was charged 2x for my soda. I let the waitress know and she stated that it was new this year and they were still getting used to it. She removed my sons soda but left the 2x charge. I told her... Im still being charged. It was then when she said thats what it costs. I sucked it up and paid for my meal. Upon walking out I requested to speak with the manager to let them know of the situation. I felt that I had to pay for the misunderstanding of -their- employee and wanted to let them know how we can improve communications in the future. The manager started talking to me and I asked her to type on my communications device (which I brought). She refused and kept speaking to me, I told her I cannot understand you. Please type. She got real annoyed and her waitress came back and started typing what she was saying but "summarized". I told the manager you are refusing to communicate with me. She continued to talk while her waitress was put into an uncomfortable position of trying to communicate with me. I have had nothing but awesome experiences in International Falls and Rainy Lake until I came to Sha Sha. Im not happy about the extra $3.50 being on my bill but Im even more upset from the reality that she refused to accommodate my inability to hear by talking to me despite my pleas to please write or type. It is unbelievable that there are still people who are stuck in medieval and archaic ways of dealing with people who are different. They made me feel inferior because of my disability. Straight up... I was discriminated upon. Avoid at all costs.
