UPDATE! I went back today and tried the vegan again. It was fantastic!!! As promised management adjusted the machine to make the vegan soft serve more creamy. Happily changed my review from 1 star to 5 stars. Thank you! Went there for the first time this season and was very disappointed. I am allergic to dairy and was delighted to discover their vegan soft serve vanilla ice cream a few years ago. It was outstanding and I havent been able to find anything like it outside of Grand Rapids. I started going there on a regular basis. They added chocolate last year and I was thrilled. I just went for my first trip of the season today, ordered a chocolate soft serve cone, took a taste and it was icy, not creamy. I took it back to the counter to let them know their machine wasnt working properly only to be told that that was how it was coming out this year. I asked if they planned on fixing the problem and was told no, they were using a different machine for the vegan soft serve and had no plans on fixing it. That wasnt the response I was expecting or hoped for. Very sad and disappointed to say the least. PLEASE, PLEASE FIX YOUR MACHINE!!!!

This place is super expensive and once again they raised their prices this year. Since I hear that they serve big portions, I Purchased a kiddie cone for my son with nuts and dipped in chocolate. The size was the size of kiddie cone and the price was $4.10. Let me say that again, $4.10 for a tiny kiddie cone. The good news is that customers are finally catching on and you can tell with the size of their lines. On a Saturday or Sunday night, the drive thru line used to be around the building, now its 5 cars max. When you continue to raise prices and charge ridiculous prices for an ice cream cone, sooner or later your customers realize it and find somewhere else to go. Way to expensive for average ice cream. Even if they sold premium ice cream that price is way to high. Its just not worth it and its a matter of time before the owner realizes that he needs to stop ripping people off.

Love this place as its very close to my home. I have hardly ever seen my ice cream served with a smile. I understand it isnt easy hiring an employee with effort for customer service... however the staff member today was too busy to control her attitude over 4 coney dogs. She was too busy to care at all about her customers and 2 people left while in line because how apparent it was. Over the 4 years I lived right next to the place, Ive witnessed employees eating gummy worms, licking cheese off their fingers while making nachos, and of course no one managing any of their attitudes. My suggestion is the care for customer service and sanitation are areas that need guidance. It would also help if your drive thru didnt blow exhaust in peoples faces as they eat their ice cream they sometimes wait 59 minutes for. My ice cream is ALWAYS delicious and thats why you still get 3 stars.

I appreciate they have non-dairy ice cream, it is good and is the reason we have gone here twice. However, both times their service is SLOW like a sloth. Yesterday we went, there was one family in line before us at the window. 10 minutes later we still didnt have our order. In the 4 orders I witnessed, 2 were wrong. One older couple specifically asked 3 times for hand dipped and receive soft serve. The order taker even verified hand dipped and then handed them soft serve. Maybe its the schools around here since all workers appear to be high school students. If you see a line, its not because theyre good, just slow.

CASH ONLY Good ice cream and a good value for the money. They serve Guernsey dairy. The small soft serve can feed two people. However, I went here for the first time and wasnt greeted at all by the annoyed high school girl behind the counter. She just stared at me impatiently as I tried to read the menu. The menu is not organized and is hard to figure out (and its huge). I tried to ask her a question and she answered as if I were stupid. Oh well, these places are staffed by kids so what can I expect. Good local spot to get your sugar fix.

Really fantastic ice cream served from walk-up or drive-thru windows. Most impressive is the selection of vegan ice cream, making it worth the trek to Walled Lake. Vegan soft serve is available in vanilla, chocolate, or twist, and is sweet, creamy, and utterly delicious. Theres also a variety of hard dip vegan ice cream, ranging from Butter Pecan to Ultimate Oreo, with plenty of options for everyone. Pricing is reasonable and parking is usually available. Head on over and enjoy a fantastic summer treat!

This is the best local shop to get ice cream for miles. Great service. Cant rate about the drive-thru as I havent used it, but I bet its just as good. One thing to fix is the size of the ice cream. Dairy twist claims: "our small is their medium!" And a lot of people appreciate that, but theres a fair amount of people that would prefer smaller cone/cup sizes. I think dairy twist could add a "tiny" size or something to appease that crowd (which includes me.)

They have the largest selection I have ever seen at an ice cream store. They carry soft serve, custard, hand dip, and even vegan ice cream! Dozens and dozens of flavors too! The portions are very generous. You can tell that this is quality ice cream and that they truly care about their customers. The lines are sometimes long, but they move a lot faster than you would think. They also take credit cards so the information on Google is wrong. Great place!!

"If there is any place that deserves 5 stars, its Dairy Twist." - My Girlfriend Just Now When I Told Her I Was Going To Review Dairy Twist For what its worth, I agree with her. This is a destination point whenever were in the area. I recommend a coconut, cheesecake, cookie dough flurry. I also recommend everything else. Pros: Tasty ice cream. Really big flurries if you get the really big size. Cons: Closed for the season two weeks ago.

The ice cream is delicious, especially since they are serving Gurnsey Dairy Ice Cream. I ordered a Turtle Sunday on our last visit. It hit the spot. Lots of tables and benches for sitting, but lots of cars circling the building while they wait in line for the drive-up. Speaking of lines, there is often a line at the walk-up window. They actually have 3 windows, but no matter how long the line I have never seen more than one window open.

I wish I could say I just some ice cream but I live a thousand miles south now. Im just happy to see it still there. It was the best. Wish I was close enough to to ride my bike still. I hope they are around many more years. So have some already

I have been going to Dairy Twist for as long as I can remember. No comparison to other ice cream shops. The widest selection of treats I have ever seen. If you dont find something you love on their menu, theres probably something wrong with you.
