Since moving to Ypsi about 3 years ago, Ive been to Ollies a handful of times. While the food is consistently good, the service is so, so, so terrible that I dread going when Im craving it. A couple friends and I just got back from their Sunday brunch, and the service was so mind-blowingly awful, I finally decided to review them. First of all, even though their brunch is popular and crowded, they had one employee whose responsibilities were to: make coffee drinks, make ice cream/shakes, take orders, and run food. And as far as I could tell there was only one person working in the kitchen as well. This meant that customers waited in line to order for upwards of 10 minutes, and waited well over half an hour for their food. Further, the young woman who was working the front was new and, bless her heart, was painfully clueless and abysmal at managing her front of house duties. Angry customers kept calling to complain about botched orders, my friends and I waited for 10-15 minutes for refills even though we were sitting right in front of her at the bar stools, and everything was utter chaos even though there were only a maximum of 3-4 customers waiting in line at once. She was also pretty unapologetic about the poor service; when we asked for the refills on mimosas we had been waiting for for about 15 minutes, she said brunch had ended and we couldnt have any. We complained that we had been waiting since well before brunch ended for service, and she rudely and reluctantly filled our glasses. I know the owners are planning to sell the place, so perhaps they dont care enough to make any changes, but that was one of the more frustrating restaurant experiences Ive ever had, and we do not plan to return. They seriously need to get their act together, both in front and back of house, and maybe their good food will be worth dealing with the experience of going there.

When I was vegan this was the place to be. So accommodating for different dietary needs. Now that I eat meat, I dont come by as often but I still mange to make it around once it awhile to get the Blue Man Goop milk shake and the Sloppy KC sandwich which are both to die for! Its a really cool atmosphere, very relaxed and hip. They showcase different local artists on their walls, which is really cool. And they do have some outside seating, if thats what youre down for. I definitely recommend it to all my vegetarian and vegan friends, but they also have meats as well which I think unfortunately gets overlooked too often!

Went there for lunch and ordered a vegan breakfast scramble that came in a wrap even though the menu didnt mention of a wrap. I told them I couldnt have wheat and they said they would take care of it. Seconds later they came out with a wrap-less scramble and while eating it I found several pieces of the wrap in with the other food. It was obvious they just unwrapped it and sent it back out. We flagged down another woman, Danielle, and told her about it and she went back and personally made us a new one with no wheat. Thank you Danielle very much. Your fellow employees should take note.

Went for lunch where my wife had a salad and I had a sandwich which was chicken salad, cole slaw, Cheddar and bacon. Very very nice. It was served on a ciabatta roll. Also had the Asian coke slaw. They appeared to have a pretty good beer and wine menu, as well as great looking desserts The menu advertised their numerous mac and cheese dishes, as well as their weekend brunch, which I cannot wait to try. As I write this and look back, only thing surprising is that they didnt have any soup

Ahhhhmazing!!! We will definitely be back! I cant wait to try breakfast/brunch! Not just vegetarian/vegan friendly, but catered to the crowd. I had the Strange Brood Mac and Cheese which was 1000x better than I had hoped followed by a Spice Girl shake that was perfection. Also sampled my husbands Paul Reubens sandwich which was fantastic. I cant wait to come back!!! (Service was great too and it wasnt even crowded on Friday night!)

My first experience at Cafe Ollies was amazing! Located in the fabulously quirky Depot Town in Ypsilanti, the decor of the cafe complimented the districts character perfectly! This little restaurants charm lies not just in its whimsy. Offering a decent selection of carnivorous or vegan entrees, there is something for everyone! I had excellent service, an excellent meal, and Im greatly anticipating exploring their menu even further.

I went here with my vegetarian friend, and she was confused upon viewing the menu because it apparently changed drastically due to re-branding. There really arent many options on the black-and-white menu, which might be their point. The food and service were good, but nothing was extraordinary, hence the 4 stars. Pictured is the vegan sweet potato burger with beets and hummus.

Ollie has quickly become my go to spot! The food is unbelievable and they have seasonal menus that feature local produce with a ton of vegan options. The cocktails are on point, great beer/wine selection and their happy hour deals are unbeatable! Everyone who works there is friendly and knowledgeable! I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

It has a very good happy hour (its in ypsi so that is a must). Good cocktails for $5 as well as some happy hour food deals. I almost gave a star less because, being in Michigan, they should know that the term slider does not mean a small sandwich or burger its a specific type of burger with a steamed bun and cooked on a bed of onions).

Loved it! Just opened in Ypsi, and I know this will be my new spot. Sunday brunch was a hit. They offer hearty veggie options for non meat lovers. The cocktail menu is super appealing and it will become my mission to try every single item! I love that they include local wines and brews...way to support the Michigan growers.

Flavorful coffee, tasty food, delectible sweet treats and local beers all in one place! I have always had curtious service here. A warm and cozy place to study or do work during the day and a artsy, comfortable spot for a relaxed evening out. Certainly a good spot to showcase a bit of ypsi pride to out of town guest.

We love Ollie. We get lunch from here at least a couple times a month. Great sandwiches and mac & cheese. Occasionally well do breakfast burritos or breakfast nachos for a lazy Sunday brunch in the park. I hear the milkshakes are pretty good too, but usually an entree each is plenty of food to be filling.

The "New" Ollies. Wow. Love this new place. Twice as big. So many great cocktails I cant choose. Great burgers also. Basically 2 side by side locations now. One bar/restaurant and one Dessert/baked goods cafe. Big improvement to the Depot Town area!

I LOVE the rebooted Ollies!! 5 star food, staff and atmosphere. Amazing themed Sunday brunches, highly recommended! My only ding is that there was a little bit of a wait for the bathroom, as they are shared with Cream and Crumb and both were busy today.

Ive been coming here for the past 2 or 3 years, through all of its renovations and changing owners, and its always been a warm and wonderful place to reside. The people are always kind and fun, and all of their ingredients are local.
