I have been coming to Meijer for nearly thirty years and I want to love the store for all it is but this location makes loving Meijer difficult, it has been a target location for violent criminal activity and desperately requires twenty four hour security both inside the store and in the surrounding lot to keep their customers safe. The store itself falls short on so many levels it is genuinely difficult to list. I work nights and generally shop at night, I worked for another retailer for years and became familiar with the routine, this store has an organized system for store stocking but essentially completely disregards its shoppers in the process. I witnessed on several occasions pallet jacks with freight in the up position and abandoned a huge safety risk, freight was consistently in the way, a result of attempting to streamline the process Im sure but the real estate this affords for moving through aisles is minimal at best. I decided to use the family lavatory in the front of the store and was appalled at not only its disrepair and graffiti (too graphic to mention btw) but also the general lack of cleanliness, a difficult thing to explain in a small family restroom. Service was friendly for the most part, but few and far between as the front end is clearly the stores only real priority however even this was slow and inefficient as well.

Hate this place. Theyll have someone at the door to great you yet they wont run carts. Every visit is frustrating. I had stood at the self checkout once for 15 minutes. I needed help and neither women there would help me. They both claimed it was the other womans job. Neither of them was actually working, either. Eventually a manager was called down to settle the dispute. The dispute was settled and the women went back to doing nothing. I WAS STILL IGNORED AFTER THE MANAGER CAME. THEY JUST WENT BACK TO DOING NOTHING. I had to be a real dick just to make one of them help me and get my machine to allow me to check out. So next week I went to the line and just had the lady behind the counter bag. SHE CRUSHED MY FRUIT! There is no winning their. I hadnt been back for a year. I went yesterday for something really quick and regretted it. They cant even maintain their check out lanes. Mine was all beaten up. The cover shield was gone from the card reader , the bags were all messed up on the weight device next to the scanner. And before that, they placed food stations up in the most rediculious spots, restricting flow and even stopping it. AVOID AT ALL COST. THESE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE ARE LAZY AND DUMB. IN THE VERY LITERAL DEFINITION OF THE WORD.

I went there and did my normal shopping and found a very good amount of things that would keep me from ever coming back here. 1) I am new to WIC and I hate that they dont have anything marked like Kroger does on their tags that is WIC items. I ended up grabbing the items and buying them anyways because the babyfood is only .88. 2) The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Jennifer from deli who was super patient and very nice as i grabbed all my deli meats. However, the cashier "Mateo" or however you spell it had a customer and he was hitting on her but what is worse is that when she left he stared at her from behind WHILE THERE WAS A CUSTOMER right in front of him when he should have been scanning her items. He thought it was a joke as he starred at her for backside for (not exaggerating) over 10 seconds. Then the white shirt greeter or security was passing by and staring as well as the young kid and mateo locking eyes in approval like it was ok. 3 to 4 seconds later another employee must have called the cashier phone because he told whoever was on the phone to mind their business laughing. Pretty sad when customers and employees see it and nobody does anythinf about it.

I first started at the bottle return section there was a crowd of people approximately 15 to 16 people out of eight service bins only four were working. There was a worker present doing another job that didnt seem any concern at all when asked by customers for assistance. After a 15-minute wait another machine broke leaving only three machines working. I called for service which was ignored after another 10 minutes I called again. One was fixed three or labeled out of order. 25 minutes to return bottles. Then on to the deli section when there was only one person working and 5 people to service. After 10 minute wait I was finally called I asked for for catfish fillets two large ones and two of the smallest ones in separate Packaging. The first two came to $7.41. I asked for the smallest two in the second package that total came to $9.87. They had to be repackaged finally he got it right the second being $3.89. Then to the checkout line. A busy Store with only 4 lines open. After a stay of almost an hour I finally left with my cat fish fillets and a cabbage two items 1 hour

Im new to the area, have done business with Meijers in Bay City, Essexville, and Lapeer. So I thought I would be as satisfied at the Taylor store. NO WAY! The wait in the check out line is longer than to get your items. I talked to (3) three different managers about this, they gave excuses, they do not care, and to be fair the store was not overly busy. The first time in the store at the Deli Counter, Josie was super, the next week I was waited on by Josie again, she remembered me and asked if I wanted the same items as last week. To the "T" she remembered every item and the thickness of the cheese. Great Job! It took (4) four different managers of my telling them of what a fine job she did, before they recognized her! This has been like this for a year and half. I go to Kroger NOW they care about you at Kroger. And when at Krogers, and the parking lot is full, the wait in the check out line has NEVER been more than a couple minutes.

I usually do not shop before 2 pm. The self checkout cashier are coupon police and will make up any excuse to be rude. Avoid patty. Today my friend and I went shopping together and she did her transaction first in sco. She had like 16 items and I had 12 items. Random different items and she told me I was not allowed to do a transaction because me and my friend live together. Were not related or live together. We didnt even have alot of stuff. And the store director Mary j was just as snarky rude as patty. Since when is 2 transactions by two different people a crime??? I had to leave without my stuff. :(

Hope the management checks out reviews. Cleanliness of your parking lot is terrible... I see your cart boys standing at the entrance with there ear buds in listening to music and watching bags and paper blowing like tumble weeds across your parking lot.. Trash , empty cans and paper in your mulch. Shouldnt they also be responsible for this? Or are you just wasting your labor for them to stand around, thats what it looks like. Management you need follow up with your employees there could be alot more work accomplished to uphold a better appearance of your store and keep our city clean and appealing...
