Authentic > Generic. For people who are complaining about their egg rolls and hot and sour soup, this restaurant is known for their authentic Sichuan cuisine. So while they do have the generic shrimp fried rice, beef and broccoli, egg foo young, etc... their Sichuan food is what you should be eating here. After all, why come to a Sichuan restaurant, then order the most unauthentic dishes like sweet and sour chicken, almond chicken, general tsos chicken, pork chop suey, shrimp with lobster sauce, and so on? How can you possibly taste some REALLY delicious (and new!) Chinese food here when youre sticking to the same-old? You can eat your unauthentic cashew chicken with egg roll, chicken fried rice and egg drop soup practically anywhere! Grab this opportunity to eat some authentic Sichuan food! Then brag about it to your friends when you describe what the texture of wood ear is! (Dont know what it is? Google it!) All Im saying is if you really want to be wowed, try some AUTHENTIC dishes that make this place special, like squirrel shaped fish with sweet and sour sauce, the classic mapo tofu, or even the bubbling pork intestine & pigs blood curd in a wok if youre feeling brave! If you want to ease into the spicy, oily word that is Sichuan cuisine, try something a little easier on the stomach like chicken with spicy sauce (口水鸡) or spicy chicken (you be the judge if you can handle this spiciness). If youre new to Chinese food in general, try something that isnt spicy like tofu and pork with vegetables in a pot (so yummy). Ask the waitress/waiter for some hot oil to test the waters before diving in. And if youre just really scared, go for the least scariest thing on the menu that isnt what youre used to eating at every other Chinese place. Variety is the spice of life, after all! My point is: If youre going to eat at a Sichuan restaurant... you should eat Sichuan food! If youre going to any establishment that you know serves authentic Whatever food - order something authentic and savor it! Long story short: Dont shy away from the foreign sounding names of dishes like "Quick-Fried Pig Kidney." Work your way up to it if you feel like thats a little too exotic for you. But please dont go to an authentic restaurant with such a rich variety of food and tell the waitress/waiter, "Can I get the sesame chicken with two egg rolls?" So please, leave the comfort of your wonton soup and familiar chicken lo mein, and open yourself up to the savory spiciness that is Sichuan cuisine.

Im always trying to find a new "go to" Chinese restaurant so I constantly read reviews and ask foodies for advice. This place came very highly recommeded and I drove over for lunch. It is a bit down at he heels and is one of those restaurants that offers the ubiquitous Chinese Buffet which Ive learned to avoid. I opted for the lunch menu and selcted Mapo Tofu which was a dish highly recommended by another customer review. The Hot & Sour Soup was alarmingly over spiced...in fact, there still seemed to be some crystalized spice that had been added prior to serving. The main dish was over salted and I sent it back. The replacement dish was also over spiced. The egg roll was first rate, but they didnt provide any mustard or plum sauce. I dont know if the cooks in the evening are the A Team (assuming there is an A Team). I wont be back.

Best Szechuan food in Metro Detroit, and perhaps one of the only Chinese restaurants in the area serving true Szechuan recipes. I have four favorite Szechuan dishes: MaPo Tofu, Boiled Fish in Chili Oil, Garlic Cucumber, and Spicy Fried Chicken (called Popcorn Chicken here). Ive had variations of these dishes many places, and Trizests servings stand out amongst the rest. (My BFF hates tofu, and insists we order the MaPo Tofu every time, its that good! (The pork gravy doesnt hurt...)) Service is good, there is one server in particular who always takes care of us, and creates a great personal connection. If not for her, service would be average, but youre not there for the service, youre there for the food, so enjoy!

Two of us waited for more than ten minutes just to be seated even though there were many open seats. After we were finally seated, we waited more than twenty minutes to have our order taken. We tried to flag someone down but were ignored by the four or five servers who stood around idly talking to each other instead of helping any customers. When we finally got our food it was cold and undercooked. The restaurant was sweltering hot and visibly unclean. Avoid at all costs, unless you are looking for a tacky overpriced location to order menu items such as "boiled pigs kidney" and "fish blood curd." Awful. Disgusting. Go somewhere else.

Quality above quantity I went to try lunch buffet since my office is nearby. 15 items plus 3 soups and 3 simple dessert. String beans in garlic sauce and mild spicy tofu were my favorite. I also enjoyed the broccoli beef but the fried dumplings filling did not tasted fresh. The mushroom soup a bit too sour and smoky burnt. For this reasons I cannot give 5 stars. Not a lot of people around on a Wednesday but friendly service. You also have the option to order a la carte. In general good culinary experience at reasonable price.

The worst!!!!I was excited to try this place there is no decent Chinese food around here. The reviews where good but the food was not. Chewy chicken with lots of fat and gristle, under cooked egg rolls with what smelled like 3 day old chicken in it. And to top it off I ordered wonton soup and instead of cruchy noodles they gave me crackers never in my life even at the worst chinnese food have I ever gotten crackers! I hoping one day I will find a good fresh Chinese food place

This is truly authentic Chinese food. If youre looking for sweet and sour chicken, this may not be your first choice (to be fair, I havent gotten that dish here). This restaurant has actual Chinese food that is amazing! They have 2 menus. One that has more Americanized food choices, and the other that lists more authentic options. You can even place an order online and pick up at the restaurant. Overall, this is great authentic Chinese food.

Best Chinese Ive had in years. Edit: Ive downgraded my rating from 5 to a 3 because although the food way great, the service was very inappropriate. There was a confusion about how much tip left and the server announced this to the entire restaurant and asked me for a tip. And when I tipped, she made it a point to ask if I was satisfied or not because she felt my tip was low. Ill just be ordering takeout from now on.

The food is amazing!!! I had the General Tsos Chicken, ordered it hot. I love the heat so definitely dont recommend for everyone but the chicken was really good! My mother had the chicken chop suey and the vegetables were fresh, the chicken was also really good. Normally she puts soy sauce on it but loved it without it! Really good food!

Authentic Szechuan cuisine. Standout dishes include Fu qi fei pian and Mabo tofu. Tons of Chinese clientele, the key sign of authenticity. Word has gotten around because the place has become more and more busy in the last year since we started going there regularly. Check out this diamond in the rough.
