After waiting almost 30 mintues for a scoop of egg salad, order of french toast and 2 sandwiches, I observed the staff do something appalling. A senior citizen was digging into her blueberry covered waffle, when waitress came out and told her "You ordered waffles, see look at your ticket". The Senior replied "NO I ordered pancakes". This went back and forth with the service lady saying "If you HAD I would have told you we dont carry blueberry pancakes" and "You can come back and check the board yourself, thats not on it!". She argued for about 10 minutes with this elderly lady, digging in her heels to prove how right she was. Now granted, perhaps the lady was upset upon receiving the order, but she was eating it and minding her own business at that point. PLUS who the HECK does that in a restaurant to a diner??? Not impressed. Food was mediocre. Dont understand for a minute why the locals eat here, other than to fill up on dried up looking baked goods and a very boring sandwich menu.

I am extremely disappointed and upset about the way they treat me and others there. If your looking for a good way to start the day dont start at golden brown. Their numbering system is completely screwed up, and they have no tolerance for anybody. I was yelled at more not knowing the exact amount of donuts I needed. I was imbarrased in front of the entire bakery. Might I add that the workers are always like this. Ive never been in there without something going wrong. Its mad chaos in that bakery, if your okay about feeling worthless and upset go to golden brown. I wont be going to golden brown ever again with my family or friends. I cant understand how a buissness can thrive when the employees are disrespectful and inconsiderate. - extremely upset ex-costumer

I took some friends here recently for lunch, as they have good food at decent prices. However, I was very disappointed that it took OVER 40 MINUTES to get a couple sandwiches for myself and my son. When I expressed my displeasure at the service to one of the employees, she refused to even apologize, saying that "it wasnt her fault", and then laughed as she walked away. There was no management on duty, and the highest-ranking individual (the cook) refused to speak to us. I do not recommend this restaurant, as it seems the service has degraded horribly, and the employees dont seem to care at all.

I cannot speak for the restaurant but I am not a fan of the bakery. The staff is very rude and impatient, even to children and they also do not know how to use their number ordering system. The baked goods are fine but the customer service is terrible and unorganized. This bakery certainly will not be getting any more business from my family and friends. I was very dissapionted with my experience at golden brown bakery.

While staying at the Lakeshore Resort in Saugatuck, I had the pleasure of eating the cranberry scones which were delivered from the this bakery. The scones were the finest, most moist scones I,be ever tasted. Our good fortune is that we are heading for a 2 day stay in South Haven next. Theres no question about where we will be eating breakfast!
