I just moved to the area and wanted to try this bakery as soon as a read about it. I went and ordered five different cupcakes to try over a few days: the chocolate caramel fleur de sel, the red velvet chocolate chunk, the strawberry, the "Pucker Up" lemon and the "Bees Knees." Overall, Im impressed. The consistency of the cupcakes vary between varieties with some being more moist/tender than others. The lemon cupcake was especially delicious, as was the red velvet. Their cream cheese frosting is better than their buttercream, which is too sweet. My one real complaint was the "Bees Knees" cupcake, which is described as a pear cupcake "scented" with ginger and honey buttercream frosting. The ginger completely overpowers the whole thing making the other flavors indestinguishable - and I say this as someone who loves ginger.

Ive given the Flying Cupcake 3 chances to keep my business. On all 3 occassions, I had 3 different counter people and all 3 were not friendly and I felt they werent really that interested in my business. Im with some of the other reviewers. The cupcakes are on super fantastic, they are just cupcakes, but I do like the red velvet and the here comes the bride (which I now know the proper name because when I asked for the wedding cake cupcake, the girl said "we dont sell that here"). Well, 3 strikes and you are out. Ill make the trek up to Holy Cow Cupcakes in Carmel. Tasty, very moist cupcakes and nice people working the counter who always thank me for my business.

With an array of top-notch cupcakes, we expect the service to be as sweet. The Flying Cupcake has hard work ahead to address a long-standing service issue. Seven interactions with counter staff at 56th and Illinois and again this Saturday morning, the bothered like a middle school student attitude, was what met me at the counter. The guy at the counter left a sour taste for what should be a happy errand. No helpful recommendation, no offer to contact his other locations, nothing. We will spend our time and money at the other place on E 62nd St.

Indy was ripe for the cupcake trend when they came along. I wont lie - I buy their cupcakes. Because sometimes a girl just needs a cupcake and they are convenient. However, they are overpriced and often dry. Its like they use cake mix from Kroger or something. When I go to large cities and get cupcakes, in order to stay in business they must be awesome - unique flavors, moist cake. Here, its that there just arent a lot of people competing in the same area so you get an average product.(At NYC prices - I mean, really.)

I wanted to send a friends cupcakes for her birthday, before I even finished my sentence asking if there was any way to package them for delivery the girl behind the counter interrupted me very rudely by saying, "Thats on you, its really not my problem." Whoa.... could have answered that question differently for sure. A simple , "No." would have been fine. The cupcakes were fine, certainly not worth being disrespected over though. Id rather go someplace where Im valued as a customer not treated like an annoyance.

Ive been to the Flying Cupcake twice....its super cute but Ive not been very impressed.....weve tried the boston cream, lemon, coconut, and strawberry....the only one we really loved was the coconut! Its very good....for 3 cupcakes it was $15...and they werent very large cupcakes. Also, their new location on Mass Ave was very disappointing...it doesnt sell drinks and they were out of quite a few flavors before 3 p.m.

My only complaint is the high price for cupcakes. The rest is pretty amazing. The cupcakes are fantastic and Im vegan so its great to have a place I can actually have a delectable treat with my kids. Its in the old Baskin Robins which brings back great memories. Almost never a line and your cupcakes are ready to go in no time. Its a must for anyone.

I love how friendly the staff is! The cupcakes are beyond delicious! I could eat them everyday! They bake cupcakes fresh everyday! I would recommend any of The Flying Cupcake locations to anyone! I went to the Carmel location and was treated like family! They have the best employees there! You should go and try it for yourself and be AMAZED!!

I have been to just about every cupcake bakery in Indy and this is by far the best. The cutest decor, very nice people and the cupcakes were amazing! Very moist and unique flavors, most of the other bakeries all have the same flavors, Flying Cupcake actually has some new ideas. They taste amazing and I would recommend them to anyone.

The Carmel store is AMAZING! I am incredibly disappointed with the E 82nd st location - they had a "regular" sized Birthday cupcake at the "Jumbo" pricing which makes no sense! Ive been to 3 of their locations, and although there seems to be no continuity between the three, I still LOVE their cupcakes.

This is a must-visit bakery. Even if youre not a fan of sweets, youre sure to find a cupcake to suit you. I definitely dont think the staff is snobby that the prior review mentioned. In fact, I told them it was my first time and they gave me 20% off! Great cupcakes, great service! I am dying to go back!

Today I tried the Sweet Tooth bakery, which just opened up across the street from Flying Cupcake. I am SO SORRY I strayed! The cake and icing dont even begin to compare to the high quality we have come to expect from Flying Cupcake. We will be faithful from now on.

Sooooo good! My cupcake was over too soon! There were so many cupcakes to choose from and they have good drink options. It doesnt hurt that theres a Starbucks around the corner if you want a cup of coffee to go with your treat. TFC is super cute on the inside too.

Paid 100.00 for a sheet cake the icing was hard the cake tasted like peanut butter. It was so bad the kids would not eat it at the birthday party. Wish I could up load pics. Cupcakes is the only thing they should be allowed to sell. Worse birthday cake ever.

They always have a good selection. Other than my grandmothers cupcakes these are the best I have found any where around. They are always moist and delicious. Im trying to get them to come to our workplace with the mobile cupcake unit! Good job

My favorite place to get cupcakes in the city. The have a large gluten and dairy free selection as well as "pupcakes" for the dogs.

Best gluten free/vegan cupcakes in town. Wide variety - and they will let you make a request if you want something another day. A+++
