My lady friend and l oder pancakes and bacon for takeout breakfast here quite often. It is inexpensive and the quality is above average, usually about 8$ a meal per person. Today we had our first lunch at The Downtown cafe. Usually, we do only breakfast. This time around we ordered a BLT and roast beef sandwich. Both were delicious, save for the BLT, I might have made a better one myself. In all, it is worth the money, if only for breakfast, give it a try! Also, I am almost 100% sure the owner of the cafe has been there each time we visited, so that adds to the appeal. One more note, it is not the cleanest looking restaurant (back of house) but that kind of stuff does not bother me so long as the food is tasty, I do not care where it was made. Eaten (here): 5+ times. Disappointed: zero (so far), and at this point, would not be surprised to have at least one disappointing experience. Recommend: Of course!

Awesome spot for breakfast! Weve always had a short wait going there on Saturdays and Sundays, but worth it. The waitstaff is solid with taking care of the little things that you dont always experience at little restaurants (refills when glass half empty, extra napkins, bringing out the omelette on 2 separate plates knowing we were splitting both entrees, checking in after first bite, etc.). Last visit we ordered the farmers omelette and one of their specials, strawberry creme brulee french toast...amazing.

Fast and friendly service with an okay menu. Very small dining area that can be expanded to outside seating when weather permits. Outside seating is located directly off of Rochester Road so the noise and fumes from traffic can impose themselves upon the dining expierence. Not certain if the majority of peoples cost benefit of the menu are offset by the potentially long wait times for seating. Waiting area is located in the parking lot due to the limited inside dining area.

5 stars for the friendly small town atmosphere. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. The food is very good and the specials are nice and the prices are right. Very affordable but never "cheap" But... There is sometimes a long wait. And Michigan isnt known for the warmest of weather. So you may be waiting outside in the cold. But its worth it. So thats that :-)

Great food and nice outdoor patio space. Not a lot of seating, but the food is wonderful. We had the eggs florentine, corned beef hash and german apple pancakes and would order them again. We need more restaurants like this in rochester, high on quality, with unique menu items and great service.

Amazing food and very friendly and efficient staff. I absolutely love the caramel French toast!! My only complaint is how small the place is for how busy it gets. I feel like they could easily move to a larger building and fill it with no problems.

This is a teriffic breakfast place. Portions are large so watch how much you order. Food is about as good as you can get and service is excellent and fast. Indoor and indoor Summer outdoor seating is very pleasant.

Wow! This place is really good. Had breakfast with my wife here, we both loved it. They deserve the high ratings that theyre getting and if you have breakfast here I highly recommend the chorizo hash.
