The negative reviews of this restaurant are almost certainly plants from one of Happy Gardens competitors (the same one mentioned in the same reviews, which I wont validate by naming here). The negative reviews have racist undertones and have no basis in reality. I have eaten at Happy Garden since I moved to Michigan 4 years ago. Ive eaten a wide variety of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean food, and can say with no doubt whatsoever that Happy Garden is the best-tasting (although not the most authentic Chinese cuisine -- that honor goes to a restaurant in Plymouth). It is a small, family owned establishment, and the people who work there are the kindest Ive met at any restaurant. Ive never felt anything from them but deep gratitude for my patronage. The food is absolutely delicious, and they know me well enough now that they do not even ask my name for phone orders. What more could you want from a restaurant? They make excellent food and recognize their regular patrons. They also work extremely hard every day of the year. Ignore the shills who have negative things to say...order one sweet and sour chicken and one order of crab rangoons and youll be back to google to talk about how wrong the negative reviews are. I positively love this restaurant and the service I receive there.

By far, my favorite Chinese restaurant. Ive been eating here for about 15 years and its always delicious and they give you tons of food for the price. The only thing is that I would not recommend dining in. My last two experiences attempting to dine in and have been not so great. Last winter, due to a miscommunication, I was served the wrong dish. When I brought this up to the waitress she just shrugged it off and didnt attempt to fix the mistake until I stated I did not like the dish that was brought out and would not eat it. It was only then that she agreed to serve me what I ordered, but instead of receiving the combination plate as ordered, I was served just the main dish with a side of white rice (no egg roll, no fried rice). Just last weekend we went to dine in and arrived 40 minutes before closing. Instead of nicely saying that the dining room was no longer open and suggesting to order carry-out instead, the same waitress from my previous experience just waved her hands at us while looking at the clock and saying "No" repeatedly. So all in all, delicious food (hence the 5 star rating), but not the best in-restaurant service.

The food was bland and tasteless. I ordered Mongolian Beef, medium spice. There was no spice!!! Furthermore, I asked to substitute onions for green pepper and they charged me a dollar. To top it all off, I asked for chopsticks and they tried to charge me 50 cents for those!!! This is a classic example of a foreign business exploiting our good economy and ripping us off!!! Dont waste your time, money, or volition on this place. Dont support them, support American business!! God knows we need to!!!

My family just moved to the area and our other Chinese place is just to far to go there! We love Happy Garden even better than our old favorite place. We eat there about three times a month and never have I got bad service or food. The prices are reasonable great place!

Worst experience. A woman came over very rudely and said we would have to pay a 15 % more just to eat inside. When we asked starting when. Cause we been then plenty of times. She said with attitude starting now and walked away. I dont recommend going there

This is one of the best places have had Chineese from and also cozy in a peaceful environment. The meal is also very fresh and tasty . Would have scored a 5 star all the way but the receptionist today was quite rude with an attitude.

Nervous to order because it was 10 minutes to close and they where the only ones open til 9:30 but when i called she was really nice and said it was okay and ALL OF THE FOOD WAS FRESH!!! This place is "da bomb!"
