Being a bridesmaid in a friends upcoming wedding, I was excited to find The Liberty online and shoot them an e-mail asking if they hosted bachelorette parties. Almost immediately, I received back a response and I was impressed from that first communication. Ken and John pulled out all the stops for my bride, preparing a slideshow with pictures of her, sending me a list of possible questions to answer to make a trivia about her and going as far as naming the drink special of the night after her. I was so blown away at their professionalism and their own excitement to be part of our bachelorette bash. Unfortunately though, we planned our party the weekend that all of Pontiac lost power for 30+ hours due to a power grid shut down, so I never got to see John and Kens hard work. But I know we would have had an absolute blast and I wanted to write an awesome review to encourage more people to arrange for parties of this sort at The Liberty! They also impressed me because though they had a ton of issues on their plate with the power outage, they still called around and tried to find us another venue for our party. I hope I know someone else who gets married near Pontiac because I will definitely be calling these guys! Thank you, John and Ken!

Rating this bar with 2 stars is me being generous. Ive been to this bar twice, doing so taught me giving something a second chance isnt always worth it. The front of the bar is swarmed with homeless people begging for money, and the staff isnt much different. Its money before business for the bartenders, they were inattentive, unsociable, and didnt seem like they knew how to make a drink. Besides the bar being in one of the worst possible spot in Pontiac the drinks are cheap, which I dont understand with the lack of business. The back parking lot is a giant pot hole, and seems like a place that youre expecting danger. The drive to Pronto! or Soho, may be an extra 30 or 40 minutes, but it is overly worth it to avoid the boredom of sitting alone at the bar at 11PM and being ignored by the bartenders, maybe they were having a bad night, but I know I did.

Rude and deceptive. When I walked in, I was one of three customers. The person behind the bar was talking to the other two, turned and saw me enter, then turned away to finish his conversation, never speaking to me. Then another person came out and I asked about drink specials. I ordered a bourbon and coke because he said well drinks were on special. After he had my money in his hand and Id sipped the drink he informs me that he doesnt have a well bourbon so my drink is twice what he said earlier. It was a decently strong drink though, just wish he had been upfront about pricing since I had asked.

I checked out the so-called Stud Sundays. When I hear the word stud used to describe dancers, I think of muscular bodybuilders dancing to a large, fun, energetic crowd. Instead I found 3 scrawny boys walking lazily across the bar while stroking themselves underneath their underwear. The crowd numbered 6 or 7. The dancers swarmed an elderly man at the end of the bar who apparently had a lot of cash for tips. They stayed there until they exhausted his tips, ignoring the rest of us, and then the show was over. Really pathetic to watch.

Been a customer for years spending my lunches and dinners here being supportive of the only gay bar in Pontiac, surprise to find out the staff consists of Shady and careless staff that only care for those with good tip money, and as for those that dont they prefer you not to come in at all , its really sad I really like this bar but just to get laid out and cussed out by the staff that pretended to be my friend its really hurtful, it really changed my opinion on this bar

Nice relaxing laid back atmosphere although sometimes it can be pretty wild on their karaoke nights. The menu is absolutely fabulous. Its not your normal bar food, more like an upscale bistro, however most of the entrees are under 10 dollars. The bar itself is nicely decorated upscale and warmly inviting. The bar staff is very friendly and always make you feel welcome.. coincidently the patrons do too. I always enjoy visiting the liberty bar.

I love this place I go here all the time and visit my friend who works there its a great place you should try it they have all kinds of different foods and lots of different foods to try. Everyone else on here is just like this is some little gay bar but its more than that men dont even start dancing at there until like 9 oclock for the rest of the time before that its just the family fun place

The best kept secret when it comes to lunch! The food is to die for; real food not crappy bar food that you would get from some of the other bars in the area. HIGHLY recommended...and the best part....the prices are affordable. Come to downtown Pontiac just to eat here and then let me know if my review was correct.

This is a fun bar. Always good times and nice place to hang out with friends. Love all of the bartenders specially Pam and Mike. Just like any other place there will be high times and then the others, just give it another chance after all present clientele plays a big role. Bar food is good and owner is cool.

I rate this bar "DNR" (DO NOT RESUSCITATE). Gave it a few tries because its the only gay bar in the area. Probably the saddest, loneliest little sliver of gay nightlife I have ever seen. Not worth the round trip each way, and certainly not worth the risk going to that area at night. Never again.

Great little gay bar with regular people and not hard core. Everyone is so friendly. I will be going more often. My only suggestion: Turn up the music and have a small area in the front for dancing! Otherwise Im going to take off my clothes and dance in my underwear on the bar! lol

Very friendly and attentive staff. AMAZING burgers and a rowdy crowd. Neither myself nor my boyfriend is gay, but we feel very welcomed and enjoy the fun atmosphere. The owner has made his way to our table a few times to check on our night and he is a gentleman.

I dont think I can ever a bad time here. Its empty on a Monday night but its so chill and the music was chill. My bartender knows his way around a Long Island. This is the stress reliever I need after the work day.
