I write this because I want them to be there in the future and hope to spend many great evenings there, especially sitting around their spectacular fireplace sipping cocktails. I want this beautiful place to succeed and Im sure the community wants (or needs) it to succeed too. Awesome décor, awesome fireplace, friendly, helpful staff, (Becky was great) but, in my humble opinion, the offered food items need some adjusting or reworking (Ive been to great restaurants all over the country). The four dishes Ive tried, so far (I will be back): The goulash had a great flavor, but was too thick and not enough of it to cover the overly-generous pasta beneath it. And the chunks of meat were very large. The Black Bean soup was way too thick (my spoon actually stood up in it), it was more like a thick Chili Con Carne rather than soup...good flavor though. The Chicken Pot Pie was very different from what youd expect. No chunks of chicken here, but shredded chicken with very little flavor (salt and pepper helped). And over the top was a hard baked crust (I broke it up, rather than cut it up) that, again, was different from what youd expect. The Mac n Cheese with pulled pork were a little gummy and had way too much pulled pork, but again, the flavor was good. Maybe Im being a little picky this early in their new existence, but they need to get it right. Come on White Horse, I know you can do it. Just a little tweaking is all you need. Did I mention that "Ill be back?" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just got back from my forth visit. This time I ordered the fish and chips and the Tortilla soup. The soup was good, although a bit salty for my tastes. The fish and chips were also good. What bothers me is that they offer a bottle of Chateaux Marcadis, a lesser known Bordeaux wine, but a very good one, for $65 a bottle. The average price for that wine, retail, is about $19 per bottle. A 200% markup would seem to be just barely fair, but 300%+? Still, I love the ambience of the place and will go back again.

My party had reservations and and then had to wait to be seated. While waiting, the ambience of the fireplace was quite nice with a natural fire. The whole facility has been redone, and though it was a beautiful sunny day Easter Sunday, it was still a quite dark inside, but otherwise quite nice. The food tasted very good although the portion sizes are only average. Menu is ala carte; if you want a salad with your $15 to $30 meal, add $5. If you want to add a bowl of soup to that, add $5. If you want something to drink, add $5. Most places would offer an unlimited bread basket at this price point, however the White Horse Inn does not even offer a bread basket. For my group, the table that we were seated at was out of the way but the layout from the kitchen through the whole building with the tables and chairs was not well planned; as such, people are bumping into each other, because it was so poorly thought-out. I feel sorry for the waitresses and waiters as they have to navigate the crowded situation with plates that are excessively heavy, and customers who are seated on the main thoroughfares as they get bumped into. Perhaps of note to those who are handicapped, nothing is wheelchair accessible. Only stairs and crowded walkways. The staff acted professionally and were very accommodating considering the environment that they are forced to work in. The food tasted very good, but not exceptional for the price. The ala carte menu would have been acceptable if prices were cut in half. Had that been the case I would give the White Horse Inn a solid 4 stars. Not being handicapped accessible and crowded seating conditions being the primary detractors aside from being over priced.

Worth the drive, the hype and the wait. The food was amazing. We started with the Brussels Sprouts and a bowl of Venison Chili. Sprouts are hip and trendy right now and it seems everyone has them on the menu, but these were fantastic and cooked well. Great flavor and still crisp. As for the chili, I love wild game, but my wife usually isnt a fan. We both loved it. Not too "gamey" and the right amount of heat. For sure a redo the next time were back on both. For the entrees, my wife had the White Horse Spinach salad with chicken. Huge portions and great flavor. Fresh veggies and just enough dressing to not overwhelm the salad. I had the Cedar Plank Salmon. Again, portions are huge, but it was cooked perfectly. It reminded me of having dinner up north in a nice lakeside seafood joint. Cant wait to try the fish and chips next time. Also, the beer list was great. We love craft beer and it was eclectic enough to have a few of our favorites and still let us try a few new brews. The White Horse is not in our neighborhood, but we will for sure be back often. Oh, and the building is amazing too.

It was only 6 pm and they had already run out of french onion soup. I got chicken pot pie and I could tell that half of the peas were bright green, and the other half were a dull brown green, as if half of it was canned peas. We had a table reserved for my family and my aunt, uncle, and cousin. We reserved for 9 and they had us at 2 different tables. After we were looking upset for not being able to get french onion soup, my aunts table got much better service than we did. In general though, our server did not bring out our food at all, other people did. and it took asking 3 different people before we got a refill on water. It was too expensive for the amount of staff they had serving people, which Im sure is why they have the ability to have such fancy decorations there.

Glad the Inn is open again. Food was good, ambiance is okay. My 3 stars is because we found the overly helpful customer service downright annoying. I do not need to be interrupted every few minutes to be asked if everything is ok. It is not ok because I can’t eat my food for fear that someone will talk to me and I’ll have my mouth full! My friend and I agreed that we actually felt harassed - one person after another asking - not just our waitperson but the hostess, the bus person, and the person who actually brought the food to the table. The floor is beautiful, the horse mural is, too. But its hard to see the original Inn within the new place. Now, its just a restaurant. Will go back again in a few months to see if theyre less anxious and hyper with customers.

Lovely restaurant, service was very good and friendly. Everyone was smiling and happy. The menu was not extensive, but the items looked delicious and included a good variety. The prices seemed reasonable for fine dining. I ordered a hamburger, it was delicious. Actually, it was more than delicious, a lot of places have hamburgers are delicious, this was much better than that, it was excellent. I ordered the burger rare and it was exactly what I got. My daughter ordered medium rare and my wife ordered medium, they nailed it perfectly on each one. Meal came with french fries which were very good. We shared a bread pudding for dessert, it was moist, rich, and sweet, but not overly so, a perfect balance. I look forward to going back and trying the other items.
