A friend and I arrived early for an event in Maddison Heights. We wanted to just find a bar and have a drink before we had to meet everyone. The Salty Dog was the first bar we stumbled upon and it looked like a ship. We were immediately interested. We walked in and sat on the other side of the bar. The place was dark and dingy and full of older guys. When we sat down the waitress then bent over to pick something up and we realized that she wasnt wearing any pants! She walked over to us and her Boobs were almost completely uncovered and her shirt zipped down to her belly button. We were feeling overwhelmingly awkward. The first thing she said to us was "have you ever been here. This is cash only." My friend and I said that was to bad, and we darted the fastest we could to the door. We made it out, but only after one of the old guys asked why we were leaving already, and they had cash. AWKWARD!!!!! Females must be warned! Dont go to this barn!!! So weird!

Its hard to find the words to describe this place. I felt like I walked into the twilight zone upon walking in here (or rather being dragged here by friends). Its dark, dirty and I have to imagine its even too far gone for John Taffer of Bar Rescue to contemplate trying to help a place like this. Watered down drinks, to call their beer selection limited is the understatement of the year, and to cap it off one patron puked at one of the back tables and the bartender just shrugged and left it there. Its an experience for sure, just not one I ever needed to have nor need to have again.

Not the neighborhood bar it once was. Good crowd, always entertaining and not the service or wait staff you would be used to if you came here 30 years ago or so... Usually only one wait staff on duty and if there is more than 5 people in the bar the kitchen is closed. Hard to understand how it can still be in business?

Love this place!!!! Very friendly staff, pretty good bar food. The women are clad in button up mens shirts and panties and thats it. If you go there just for that be in for a surprise these are not bimbos or dumb women. Very nice relaxing place to have a few beers and simple shots.

I love this place, beer is cold and cheap, never crowded or pretentious like most of the bars in the area. Bartenders are fun to talk to, and a great jukebox with everything on it. This place is always a hit after "Steak Night" at the Coliseum then on to "Shut Er Down At The Dog".

Hmmm. Where do I start? Do you like B00bz? Youll likely get a peek. The bartenders dont wear mucho. Avoid draft beer at all costs...the lines where not clean! GOP with a bottle or can every time. It;s dark and divy. Salty, if you will. All that said, I go back again and again.

Small hole-in-the-wall dive. Bartender was cool. Wasnt very busy for Saturday night. Didnt like they didnt take credit cards (machine may be down). NASCAR pinball needs to be put out of its misery.

Its so bad its a joke that we keep going back. Cash only. Waitress uniform is unbuttoned shirt with no pants. Food is usually not good or nonexistent. Drinks are relatively cheap though.

Ambiance was great. Fish tacos were overcooked, chicken club was very bland, nachos average. Drinks were pricy for their size and not the greatest. Very nice waitresses!

Theyve been changing this place over some time now. Its come a long way since 2010. The wait staff has improved severely as well :-) they also added some craft beer
